OVERVIEW

The guitar pedal for your voice.

The Harmony Singer is the perfect partner for focusing on your vocals. It's an essential and exciting vocal processing no larger than a guitar stomp box, but with a massive sound. Whether you're electric, electro-acoustic, pro or practicing, your vocal presentation will sound like your group just increased by a couple of backup singers, an expert engineer and a ton of gear.

It's an all-in-one, compact pedal featuring Vocal Harmony, Tone and Reverb. You can utilize up to two harmony voices guided automatically by the guitar via the In/Thru connection. The Adaptive Tone "sweetens" overall vocal quality and 3 high-quality Reverb styles with adjustable level.

Tone is much more than just a four-letter word. Under the hood of Harmony Singer is a collection of high end audio processes tweaked to perfection. Smooth dynamics? Check. Silky brightness? Check. Reduced "sss" sounds? Check. No more muddy lows? Check. And these processes automatically adapt to the tone and dynamic range of your singing so that even with an average PA, you'll always sound your best.

You won't have to brush up on your vocal arranging skills as Harmony Singer does this for you. It instantly analyzes your guitar chords so that when you hit the footswitch, your harmony backup group is in tune and on time. When it's this easy, you'll find yourself trying harmony in songs you wouldn't have thought of before.

Sure everything has reverb in it these days, but when your reverb sounds great it makes you equally great. TC Helicon's sister company, TC Electronic is renowned in the pro-audio community for the quality of its reverb algorithms and the styles in Harmony Singer hark directly from that lineage. The Room, Club and Hall styles are all built to flatter your voice, so go ahead and crank it up, your audience will love it.

Of course you don't want to announce your next song or chat to the folks with Rverb on. Holding the Harmony on/off button puts you into Talk mode where your voice is still processed by Tone but the Reverb and Harmony effects are turned off. A quick tap and you're back in the land of pristine ambience.

If you've ever connected a mic to your PA, you're ready to connect Harmony Singer. Mic to Harmony Singer and Harmony Singer to PA. Nice and easy. Your guitar connects the same way you'd connect your other stomp box effects - only it likes to be first in the chain.

Only rated it 4 stars because is anything perfect? There are just so many bogus reviews from people who love something just bcause they own it. I had the G-XT version but it just was too large for pedal board AND the connections were a total hassle and NOT robust. The Harmony Singer fixes that issue. For me, this is the easiest vocal harmony pedal to use. I have had the original voice live which was a tap dance nightmare. I also tried the Digitech 3. Eh. TC has them all beat in my opinion. I do wish it had selectable keys so that it could be used without the guitar plugged into it (studio use).

The harmonies do sound real provided you do not set the harmony level prominent in the mix. I have no tracking issues with it. It will get used at gigs to cover harmonies that the rest of the band can't get right or when a new song is ready except for one harmony part......like the G-XT was used. Set the harmony level low and the other guy can lock on to it to sing his part correctly. It is another tool to add to my arsenal. Here's the clincher for me. The TONE button. Worth the price of the pedal just for the TONE feature. Almost bought the H1 but that TONE button.........couldn't live without it. Buy it.

I have a TC Helicon Voice mode and I play my keyboards through it. Works great. Bought this as I wanted a backup for gigs. But.....this Harmony Singer Effects Pedal cannot be used with a keyboard. Only a guitar, so it was a waste of time for me. But it did have great harmony sounds.

Comments about TC Helicon Harmony Singer Effects Pedal:

The TC Helicon Harmony Singer is fantastic - I can do a solo gig with my keyboard and have great, velvety tones with my voice and a couple of great harmony singers. (They sing beautifully, never fight with each other and I don't have to pay them for each gig.) This is a technically easy product to set up and with a little practice it rewards you back with so much good sounds. (It really makes heads turn when those vocals kick in :)
The one problem I have had is with the foot button. Mine only lasted 7 concerts before malfunctioning. I could still get the reverb and I could get the harmonies IF I KEPT MY FOOT ON THE BUTTON. (A little awkward and rather uncomfortable for the "boys" in the band when you are playing keyboard with your knees together.....if you catch my meaning.)
BUT the techies at TC Helicon are going to fix it since it is still under warranty. (If this becomes a continual problem, then I will be sad and lower their rating. So I will keep you posted. PEACE

Comments about TC Helicon Harmony Singer Effects Pedal:

Being a 30+ year music veteran, I've downsized my equipment in all forms. As such, this unit replaces my former rack-mounted DigiTech Pro Vocal processor, and sits nicely in my 6 effect pedal board. With 24 bit processing and a lot of computational power, this unit is remarkable compared to what was available just a few years ago. I really like the soft switch, the low noise, and LED light real-time feedback. To take it to the next step, I'd really like the same functionality with some additional choices in reverb [I use plate almost exclusively], reverb tone, and delay. But for what it is - it functions flawlessly, housed in a great chassis, and is reasonably priced.

Comments about TC Helicon Harmony Singer Effects Pedal:

This is a great unit to play live and sing back vocals. It tracks Keyboard and Guitar chords. I usually plug into our keyboard players Phones output and it works juts great! It does not have a true bypass and I do not care what TC people say, It does suck your tone a lot! Guitar sounds much worse with this pedal (on or off) vs any other pedal with true bypass If they fix that problem, this pedal will be 100% great! I love it more than any other fancy TC Helicon vocal processor pedals. It has everything you need in there. Did I mention that it also works off 9V (original power adapter is 12V)?

Comments about TC Helicon Harmony Singer Effects Pedal:

As a band, the vocals add a depth of harmony that we could not achieve. Because most of our band do not sing, this adds one or two extra vocals to our group with little effort. And the harmony actually sounds good and not robotic. This device is easy to setup which is important for me. Also, it is compact to fit with my other pedals and equipment. Lastly, this really sound great if playing solo on an acoustic. Can't wait to do this in the summer and surprise the audience. If you are looking for that extra harmony, this is your device.

Comments about TC Helicon Harmony Singer Effects Pedal:

After a not so great experience with another harmony pedal I made sure to take it out of the box and try it out the day it arrived. So far I'm pleased with it. It is very easy to set up and use. Very happy with the response...your guitar MUST be in tune though (which makes sense). For accapello parts such as the intro to Seven Bridges Road, I just pluck the high and low notes and it locks in on the harmonies accurately. I have yet to use it in a gig but I'm thinking it will work out well.

Comments about TC Helicon Harmony Singer Effects Pedal:

You sing a clear note, play a solid chord on your guitar (that runs through the device) and your get your voice plus the selected harmonies with no noticeable latency. the sound quality is very good and it is easy to use. I messed around with it the afternoon it came and used it live that night to great reviews. You do have to be sure to hit your guitar chord solidly. I usually finger pick, but when using the pedal, find that I need to be sure to pluck all the notes on the chord at the same time to let the pedal know the intervals. There is also a "tone" button that helps clean up your vocals, very nice. Also, for it to work well, you have to sing strong and close to the mic which is good technique anyway, so it helps train you to be a better performer. Upon hearing himself sing through it, my partner said, "If you don't show up some night for a gig, I'm using the pedal."
