Tech 21 SansAmp Para Driver DI Instrument Preamp Pedal  

After trying out several boxes, preamps and different EQ's etc..I got this box and this is it..that elusive tone I've been searching for..I use it  for my bass rig since it has a mid shift adjustment that the Tech Bass Driver doesn't..my music requires I have 3 distinct tones...Clean/SVTish, Overdriven-Fuzzy..I run a BBE Bmax as my Clean Preamp, this for the SVTish tone, and when I engage a Digitech bass Driver and run all 3 I get the perfect distorted Bass tone without losing ANY Bottom end..The serach is over...I run the BBE pretty much Flat...with the Para mids about mid way with the gain at 3 o'clock..and the sonic max engaged...I run the Para Driver pretty close to the sample SVT setting in the manual with the blend at about 3 o'clock instead of all the way..and the Bass up a hair..and this thing was the missing link in my eternal search..thank you Tech 21..

This box does it all! For Live Performance, for audio recording, as a quick and easy amp-simulator. I have found many uses for this active DI box. What makes it unique beyond the connectivity features are the Active Controls. They not only cut frequencies but boost them ... so you can tailor your tone for electric guitar, acoustic guitar and vocals. Highly Recommended!

I bought this about a month ago, and I have to say it is one of the best purchases I have ever made in 20 years of guitar gadget buying. It delivers on everything it promises (which is a rarity). I record directly into garage band  with this and this thing really warms up a Pod 2.0 and Alesis drum machine.

I use this pedal exclusively to run all my piezo sounds. My piezo signal goes through this and then straight to the board. The EQ is quite powerful and the mids can be shaped radically. The blend feature is great, sort of a pseudo fx return. I use this pedal to supplement an already great sounding piezo and have since stopped taking acoustic guitars to my gigs. This combination sounds better than any AC Sim. I have every heard. This pedal stays on all night during my gigs, I run it off phantom power and have never had any problems. Great sounding pedal.

I use this Tech 21 Sansamp "Para Driver" pedal with a Boss Metal Zone on my practice amps (Roland Cube 15 and Peavey Studio Chorus 210).  Perfect to customize your sound.  Adds some thick brutality to your distortion.  The Mid freq knob is key and a bonus compared to the Tech 21 Sansamp "Bass driver".  I also use a rack version of the "Para driver" called the Tech 21 Sansamp "RPM" on my live gear (Peavey JSX halfstack w/ Noise Gate and Aphex Aural Exciter).  Adds power and shaping to my halfstack.  Also for bass, use the "Para Driver" and "Bass driver" together to take it to maximum depths.  Very brutal and a "must have" for Extreme metal guitarists/bassists.
