Tight, solid lows without any flab.
The THD 4-12 Cab is a bass-reflex design cabinet with a slot-port in the rear instead of the more common tube port in the front. Unlike a tube-port, there is no chance of "whistling" through the slot-port in THD's cabinets. The slot-port being shallow, but wide, gives a lot of rear projection and a more open, 3-dimensional sound similar to an open back but with a dramatically fuller, tighter bottom end.
THD's cabinets are made of 3/4" 9-ply birch with 1/2" birch ply baffle and rear panels. The corners are finger jointed for strength and rigidity and the speaker baffle is dadoed into the sides for a remarkably strong and durable cabinet. To eliminate noise found in other handles, THD uses steel inset handles that are remarkably strong and do not rattle. Switchcraft jacks provide a better connection to your speaker plug and steel jack dishes won't break or push through. Inside, the speakers are wired with Belden wire, an industry standard. Also featured on the cabinet's exterior are nickel-plated steel corners to deflect blows and large cast rubber feet that reduce vibrations.

I purchased it a year ago when I got tired of my old Peavey Triple X one. So I did a really big step between the crappy quality of the Peavey cab and the highest quality found only on this one hahaha. This cab is designed to be liked by everybody, with 2 kind of differents speakers (Vintage and Modern) and a half open back so every speaker have a REALLY different sound. In studio, It will be an incredible tool cos you can put your mics at 5 places (the 4 speakers and the back trap) and the sound is ALWAYS Magic.I uses it for Metal... yea a clean class A cabinet for Metal, and it's amazing. It's tight, loud, rich with heavy bottom and a very flat balance of frequences. In fact, with every amplifiers I plugged in it, I put the setting totally Flat and it was already good (yea I changes a little EQs after, but WOW !). So it's a very versatile one too.My only disapointment, it's NOT a stereo Cab, so if you uses a stereo power amp, too bad for you (but i uses Mono amps :D )So... If you can find one (cos these are hard to find) crash your car to get the insurance and buy it with that hahaha.
