The THD Quintet Tone Curve is a passive pedal that permits you to select among 5 different frequency response curves to be applied to your existing guitar sound. It works with any passive, magnetic pickups in guitars, steel guitars and basses. Greatly expands your tonal range by altering your pickups' bass, mid and treble resonances in dramatic and highly musical ways.
- Select from 5 different frequency response curves
- Set intensity of each curve

When you plug-in to the THD Quintet, it's like having five sets of highly-contrasting pickups available at the turn of a knob, and at considerably lower cost than a retrofit. The unit offers a 5-position switch for selecting pre-set EQ contours ranging from jazz-box dark to Tele bright, and many useful flavors in between. In addition, there is an intensity control that allows you to mix your guitar's original tone with the effected tone. This box can fatten a single coil or skinny-up a humbucker, and it reacts very differently, depending on the pickup that is feeding it.The Quintet is a passive unit, and uses no battery. It does not work effectively with active electronics or with wireless units. Finally, in order to work correctly, it needs to be the first item in your signal chain. The THD Quintet is a great value, offering a very useful array of tone-shaping possibilities in an easy-to-use and easily-affordable package. I predict that it will become an indispensible part of many pro rigs in the near future. I recommend it highly.
While I admit I did purchase this on a whim hoping it would be a hidden gem, I was none the less disappointed. After much experimentation with it, I have yet to find out what it does. Through all 5 settings with variations on the "intensity" knob, it does little to change my sound and when it does, it's nothing unique. The changes are very subtle. While the chasis is built well, it's a passive pedal so there is no light to let you know when it is on. That's difficult to hear given the subtle nature of the effects. Sorry to say, I will be returning it.
The pedal looks perfect, quality is top notch, the insides are neat. I was really excited when I first saw it and thought that the idea was simply brilliant. When I got to play with it, I almost though that the unit was broken. The pedal way of changing your tone is very subtle that I didn't care if was on making it almost useless, I can get much more sound by just playing around with my amps eq or my guitar's knobs. It was such a waste of a great idea, wished they have made it far better. not even worth half it's original price
