OVERVIEW

Brings back the old-school tremolo sounds all in one pedal with built-in tap tempo.

The Throne Room Tremolo has a purely analog signal path for lush, vintage tremolo sounds. At no point is your signal converted to digital. It features eight different waveforms, as well as a built-in tap tempo. The tempo can also be controlled with the speed knob or with an external tap input from another pedal or clock source.

FEATURES
  • 5 knob controls: Waveform, Depth, Distort, Speed, Multiplier
  • 8 different waveforms: Sine, Square, Triangle, Ramp Up, Ramp Down, Sweep, Reverse Sweep, and Random
  • Waveform distort knob stretches or squishes the waveform for an extremely wide pallet of sounds within each waveform
  • Bypass LED and always-on tempo/waveform LED that blinks to the current speed of the tremolo and fades in and out according to the selected waveform, giving you a quick glance at your current settings even while in bypass
  • Tap input/output - use this jack to have the pedal's tap tempo sent to another pedal, or receive an input tempo from another pedal or switch (sends and requires a normally open switch signal)
  • Calibrated for no volume drop when the pedal is engaged. Internal trim pot is adjustable if a volume boost or drop is desired
  • Rotary switches for the waveform and multiplier controls to allow for easy selection

Comments about Throne Room Pedals Throne Room Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

I was looking for a trem with a foot-operated speed control (ie a 'gas pedal', like my Mini Deja-Vibe3), but couldn't find one. Some have jacks for outboard 'tap-pads' (this one does), and that was all I could find. The *last* thing I want, actually, is Tremolo pulses to MATCH the beat of music; I don't want everything I play between downbeats to get muted/chopped! I wanted good range on the Depth control, so as to be able to keep a good amount of 'un-tremmed' signal going through, and be able to vary the speed without bending down etc. This ThroneRoom Tremolo has a Depth knob with plenty of low-range range (where it undulates gently and sounds like you're hearing music in a dream...or underwater), and 8 waveforms amongst which to select. If you *are* a 'tempo-tapper', this'll synch with your digidelay. It has an incremental 'tempo sub-divider', so If you tapped your beat in and now it's chugging along at your BPM, you can set it to double that up, or do triplets (like 12/8s on your 4/4), 4X, and so on to stacatto bursts of your whole-notes. That makes a lot better sound than having the tremolo *match* your song's tempo. So you can surf it up, do the Spaghetti-Western Soundtrack guitar, or subtly make your big solo sound like the sonic equivalent of a mirage. The only thing that would make this pedal better (for me, at least) would be a big rubber cap to put over the Speed knob, so users could adjust it at will on the fly with a foot (like MXR used to enclose with Phase 90s, and so on). I'm glad I bought this instead of the other ones I was considering, which all cost some 25% more yet had less range. This is the third effect I've bought from TRP that's gone right on my gig-pedalboards. This one's staying on my 'EFX Loop board' forever....or at least until they make one with a foot speed control(!) The only 'volume drop' in this unit, btw, is when the Speed is quite slow (so the 'trem-out' intervals are longer); of course it gets quiet...then loud again, and quiet again. Duh! If you try to run it so slow (like you're going to try to get some kind of Leslie cab sound) of *course* it'll have 'volume drop'---that's the kind of pedal a 'Tremolo' is. So, don't worry about 'volume loss'; if you need a Uni-Vibe (or one of those 2-knob emulators), then get one of those for that sound. In other words (despite what you may have heard), Vibrato and Tremolo are not the same thing; one de-tunes and the other oscillates volume. 100% analog, true bypass, busy blue lights, great palette....they could be charging more for these than they are.

Comments about Throne Room Pedals Throne Room Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

I was looking for a tremolo with an input for a tap switch to run synced taps with my DD-7 (have a custom built dual input switch with one NO and one NC to accommodate the DD-7). This was the only one I could find on Musician's Friend so I decided to go for it. The Throne Room Tremolo did not disappoint! It has 8 different wave forms including a randomized option, has its own built in tap if you don't need it synced to something else, and looks great on my board. I can get anything from a very subtle mod to a dramatic effect with just a little tweaking of the knobs.

The company itself also seems awesome- I have emailed back and forth with them a couple times with questions about the tremolo and some of their other pedals and they are very knowledgeable and quick to respond back. I would buy their brand again just on customer service alone.
