The Tone King Metropolitan 40W Tube Guitar Amp Head is a refined take on vintage sound. Its Rhythm channel goes beyond its roots in '60s American tone by giving you more focus and detail, dynamics, and clarity.
With an ample amount of headroom, the crystalline clarity of the rhythm channel lets you clearly discern all the notes of even the most complex chords, and every nuance of single note playing. The Lead channel, with its unique "mid-bite" control, can serve up anything from a tweedy honk to a searing metal crunch, and it does it with its own unique style - a bit more aggressive, a bit thicker through the mids, and with a bit more harmonic richness.
The tube-driven, 6-spring reverb is voiced for a smoother, deeper, longer-tailed response - more in the style of a great vintage plate reverb. And to help get these great sounds at any volume - from stage to bedroom - the Metropolitan includes Tone King's proprietary "Phase-4" output power control circuitry, which gives you the sound of natural power tube overdrive and distortion at any power level from 0.1W to the full 40W.
