This is a really handy device for the price if you just want to get great amp sounds. It's easy to use and sounds really nice.
This little fire breathing dragon has all the "meat and potatoes" effects and amp modeling anyone could want!I mounted mine on a weighted boom stand and just turn, tap, and rock to my user presets. The amp modeling section of this little package of dynamite is second to none! You will swear you're hearing a Marshall,Vox etc. just by turning the knob. It sounds the best sonically if you use a stereo type set up to fully realize the kickin booty sounds! This little unit ends the quest(temporarily anyway) for all the tone meisters who lust for tone! Keep em coming Korg!!
I got this pedal about a year ago and I love it!!! I play mostly metal and this thing can really sound metally. The only problem with it is I can't find the perfect sound with it, I mean it has it I just can't find it. Right now I have the Amp Type as UK MDN, the Cabinet at 412 VIN, and the Effect at Delay. I have the Gain all the way up, the treble all the way up, the Middle all the way down, and the bass like a little more than half way forward. That is working for me pretty well but I want another setting. If anyone sees this and has a reccomendation please post it, it would be highly appreciated, thanks.
Yes, it sounds amazing. A stupidly good value - just get it, it's worth 3 times the price. Clean Fender-type sounds come thru just right. Tweedy Bluesy overdrive with my Strat is absolute heaven. I'm not a metalhead, but I've gotten plenty of syrupy David Gilmour type solo tones, Sweet overdrive with plenty of body, not just distortion - I've used this thru the PA for local gigs, parties & rehearsals - I've just started to use this with my acoustic/Electric Yairi guitar, with a Fishman, thru the new Bose PA. No noise, just lots of control - I've recorded with it, used it for so many different applications - It always sounds exceptional, everyone who hears it buys it - It's like a swiss army knife - go get it - Velcro it to your microphone stand... rock on daddy.
I bought this unit seeking a good all-around, compact soundbox for performance. It indeed does a lot, and at the current sale price it's a bargain, but it wasn't what I was looking for. If you play punk or metal styles, and you need a compact, inexpensive box for home recording, this is a great deal. Otherwise, I'd look elsewhere.
I think it's Awesome. Including 11 amp and 11 cab and 11 effects. You can get your own sound. Works great for rehearsal with the band or live? Haven't tried... I have used/tried many multi effect boxes, but i like this one most. But it should have a drum machine, like the Pandora (also from korg toneworks)
I bought this unit expecting to use a couple of the sounds and got a lot more than I bargained for. While it's not really convenient for stage use, the sounds are killer. I use it onstage for the delay and flanger. The only gripe is the output. It's stereo which requires you to buy a stereo to dual mono cable (in order to get stereo sounds, otherwise you get left channel only) Overall it's got good sounds and for the price it can't be beat!
I wanted a portable, battery-powered do-everything box that I could use with headphones (I am currently stationed in the desert, living in tents, so bringing a large unit or amp was not possible). Remember that just a very short time ago something like this didn't even exist, and with the relative newness of the whole amp-modeling craze, I was not expecting much. To my surprise, however, this little box rocks. Not it is not studio quality, but it sounds better than many modeling amps I have played through at the local guitar shop, I was impressed, especially for the very low cost. As a take-anywhere jack-of-all-trades, master of none effects processor, I'd recommend it. It is far more versatile than anything I ever had as a beginning guitarist years ago.
I'm currently waiting for my 5150 to get back from repair. This has worked out great in the meantime. It's got all the basics and more. At first i couldn't get a really clear distortion sound. But after messing with it for a while i figured out some good adjustments. A good alternative to a pod, especially for headphones or just recording some demo riffs that you don't wanna forget.
this may be one of the best processors out. i love recording with it and its tone is perfect. i play lots of styles of music but this i most recommend for metal. i love using it for speedy solos and it is a very good contraption.
