Since this is my first guitar effect processor I can`t compare it with anything else I`ve used,BUT,if you compare the "tube OD" effect(I think it`s a tube drive/amp)with the one that you hear for ex. on Neil Youngs "Cortez the killer" song, the similarities are incredible!!!!I couldn`t believe my ears(just make sure you use enough "GAIN",and mess around a bit with the "TONE" parameter and your guitars volume knob). Another thing worth mentioning are the great ECHO effects!!Don`t know how and why,but I tryed a clean effect with a little "Chorus","Reverb",and a lot of "Delay" and presto..incredible progressive sound(!!!) which can only be made better by using several other distortion and other effects. I also recomend this "low budget" equipment for those into heavy metal, since it has a few factory presets which they would find nice, especially with a nice amplifier/combo(when I purchased it I tried it on a 100 W "Marshall" combo and it was incredible(although I`m not a heavy metal fan)).You nead a little exercise untill you get used to it,but it`s definitely worth its price, and congrats to KORG,for creating something as affordable and great sounding.

I bought this box to experiment with. The first thing I noticed was that it is made of plastic. The instructions were completely vague and of no help. When I pluged it and played for a bit I was aware of clicking noise coming from box and a buzz/hum white noise that is very irritating. I brought it back to where I bought it and tried out a different box and it did the same thing. The effects of this box sound great but the noise supression is horrible. Spend a little more for something nice.

I'm not really into effects, so it's not an important device to me. It does produce some interesting sounds, not high quality sounds though. Many are somewhat noisy, and most are repeated by selecting a different number: #4 sounds the same as #44, etc. The volume/gain levels vary greatly from selection to selection, which is inconvenient. I'm glad I didn't spend much for it. You get what you pay for.
My buddy (Bass Player) bought it for a gig for me to borrow. Needless to say, I bought it off of him (I think I was set up). It can make the worst of us sound good. Definately a "Keeper".
I own the toneworks AX3G and I am very pleased with it. for the price, it is a life saver. I bought this processor about a year or two ago, and it is still in great condition after being used at shows, in my studio/room at least 5 days a week if not all week. Not a single scratch, ding, dent, crack, nothing. And yes, it is made of plastic, which seems to be everyones nightmare (just stop stompin around like you know what you're doing, mr. guitar hero) The distortion channels all sound good, you just have to figure out a style to go with it. The pre FX do what they say they do, and thankfully they all have parameters if you have a problem with the sound. The modulating effects also have an array of sounds with anywhere from 3 to 7 parameters each. The reverbs and delays also sound good. You can't get a horribly long delay out of it, but its not a dedicated box for that so you shouldn't expect that much.Overall, just buy it if you don't have much money. I have learned that cheap stuff is just as good if not better if you know how to use it.
The Toneworks AX3G is great!! I have been having a lot of fun with this unit. Great sounds and a hole lot of tone for a great price! I would suggest buying the optional power supply if your going to use it often (search on here for KA-183)
I have played around with many effects units, had many amps with amp modeling and effects built in, and I've never been fully satisfied. I bought this originally for my bass because it was cheaper than the bass model. Well, as I played with it, I realized that it sounded better than my Kustom 212, my AX10G, and my line six. SO, I started using it for guitar instead of bass. I've loved it ever sinceNow, just because its small, doesn't mean it sounds small. Take it easy on the volume, you can get some pretty horrid sounds out of it if you blast it.The amp models are GREAT. all of them are useful, and all are uniqueThe effects are GREAT also. They work well, and have a lot more parameters than you would think. The shell, is plastic. This is the only drawback, but really, its not that bad. I've played punk and thrash shows with it, so its been through hell.Overall, I would really look into buying this no matter what budget you have.
As a song writer, I think it is great! It is very easy to find the perefect tone. However, I think it is better for song writing rather than finding a similar tone for an already written song. It may look complicated, but is fairly simple after a while. Yes, it is plastic instead of metal. but as long as you don't jump around on stage anywhere near it, or push the pedals too hard,it is very sturdy. don't think that the low price means it's crummy, cause you can't beat this price or quality!
This tiny plastic box contains some pretty big sounds that I did not expect! I have used many Korg synth products before and I should have known that this would be good as well. It's easy to use, almost pocket sized and has great solid sounding effects. I have been using it for recording and it gets the tones and grind that I want. I doub't I will ever use it live because of it being plastic, but I definitely recommend it for home and studio use! Can't beat the price either!
This is a very nice board for the price. It has just about every tone I could ever need (although i have yet to get the perfect "Free Bird" sound out of it). It's fairly well put together but it is made out of plastic so don't go rough on it. I would recommend it for the studio instead of stage because of its fragileness (my new word :). I have been playing guitar for only 2 1/2 years so i might not have a ton experience with mutileffect boards but to me, this is a nice board. Now that our bass player for our band quit I am stuck on bass so I lended my guitarist this board and he loves it. Overall a very nice board for the price. One last thing, the only downfall is that the tuner is next to the worst tuner in the world! I absolutly HATE the tuner. I would suggest a Peterson strobe tuner to go along with this board.
This little giant has all the right stuff i can get everything from a heavy metal sound to a light clean effect... oh and the price is so good for what this thing does its amazing! the only down side is that its made of plastic so you cant be rough with it but im not so its ok.I play for my churh and this thing is the perfect setup it even rivals the rythem guitarists 300$ unit he asks me how i get such a great sound out of it! makes my fender "SQUIRE" sound good!
It is easy to use and easy to get a hang of. It only took me about 5 min. to understand how to use everything. The sounds are good and you can mix and match to how you like. The tuner in it is not the best but it gets you close. The only problem is how light it is and how it is a hard plastic so you have to be gentle when you use it.
