Comments about Trace Elliot 1518C 1x15" 300W Bass Cabinet:
I had not owned a 15" speaker since I sold my Peavey 215 20 years ago, and I was hestitant to let my 410 go since it had served me well for the past 20 years. But I really wanted to run my SVT III Pro at a 4 ohm load, so I bought this speaker and an Epifani PS 112 (reviewed here also). The Trace does exactly what it is designed to do: add thump to your rump! I play it with my P-bass and J-bass, both strung with Fender 9050L flatwound strings (see reviews). I play the Trace along with the Epi and they sound great. I don't think I will be playing the Trace as a single cab since it is designed to be a subwoofer, not a stand alone. I bought the Trace used but in mint condition. I got really lucky. One thing I really like about the Trace is its design. It is not heavy at all, the handles are very usable and the grill and the covering are both very sturdy and built to be tough more than pretty. I like it better than the rat fur that some other cabs have. Easier to maintain.
