The Two-Rock TRSP35HD Studio Pro 35W Tube Guitar Amp Head offers ample clean headroom, dynamics, and a variety of tone shaping options. Two-Rock added a pickup loading feature, which optimizes pickup balance between single coil and humbuckers. The stellar reverb circuit with send and return controls, contour control, and full buffered effects loop are standard on this amp.
The new Pickup Loading feature control has 5 settings. In the first position (fully counterclockwise), there is no additional pickup loading, with 4 additional settings available. Fully clockwise (last position) is full loading. Loading the guitar pickup(s) to varying degrees changes the impedance relationship between the pickup and the amplifier's first gain stage. Loading reduces inductive "ringing" in the pickup coils. The effect is a more controlled high frequency response and a reduction in high frequency artifacts produced when a pickup's magnets and coils feed back with each other, usually at or near the pickup's saturation point. The damping effect will also reduce the gain, which is normal. Tonally speaking, reducing these artifacts results in a cleaner waveform and an apparent lack of harshness in the upper frequencies.

The TR truly a handmade, American amp, that sounds amazing. Yes, its expensive, but there is a reason; its a modern amp that has a true Dumble sound without a Dumble pricetag. I've owned and played Marshalls, Dr Z's, Suhr Badgers, Fuchs, Fender's and Tone King but none of them come close to the versitality of the TR. Its a botique amp with a botique price tag and its well worth it.
I purchased this amp in May 2011 with matching 1x12 cabinet and have absolutely no buyers remorse at all. Don't get so focused on John Mayer, pop-fusion sound, which, this amp does very well but this amp is much more. I have to describe it as sound in 3D! It's a very refined Dumble sound but also has the versatility of Rock and Roll and I still cant believe how big the amp sounds. I play a Stratocaster and several different types of Les Pauls. Each guitar has it's own voice and the Two Rock lets the voice of the guitar be heard. This amp is for adults with a refined ear for tone; if you're a shredder this isn't for you.........try a Line 6. If you're into blues, Joe Bonamossa, Eric Gales,SRV, Rock, Reggae, or anything with some soul, the TR is a great choice. The TR has the best clean sound and OD sounds going; it also takes pedals like a champ ( not that you need them).
The TR has Push/Pull's on Treb, Mid, and Bass: They are responsive and work in unison with each other. All the EQ pots are responsive, balanced, and smooth.
The TR Reverb is legendary and can be controlled with the Send and Return knobs on the front of the amp.
The Pickup Loading feature is great if you switch from a single coil to humbucking guitar. It dampens the gain and gives you balance and headroom; Its very useful.
I wasn't a fan of effects loops until the TR. The effects loop on the TR will not kill your tone like most effects loops will. Its the best sounding effects loop and I actually use it.......Lets face it....how many people actually use the effects loop? This one is amazing and works without stealing your tone.
You can run the head into a 4, 8, or 16 OHM cabinet, which comes in handy for a variety of speakers and the ability to run different cabinets. I recommend running the TR cabinet with the TR12-65B speaker.
Its a well built handmade, American, amp and is solid without weighing a ton. The push pull pots in Treb, Mid, Bass, and return level output (volume) located at the rear, feel solid and smooth. The pickup-loading switch is well made and the head and cab have a leather handle that is solid.
It's a little pricey but I've played several high dollar amps that only sound good when they are dialed in at a high volume. The TR has tones and sweet spots EQUALLY as good at low-mid volume as it does at high volume.
