Wonderfully transparent, natural acoustic tone with plenty of connectivity and performance options for solo singer-guitarists.
The UltraSound CP-100 is a compact, powerful 2-channel amp that keeps your amplified acoustic guitar sounding acoustic. It has an 8" LF driver and HF horn powered by 100W. 2 channels each have combo XLR/1/4" inputs so they can be used for either guitar or microphone, and the inputs also have phantom power for condenser mics. Each channel has 2-band EQ, and channel 2 has a notch filter for eliminating feedback, as well as a shape switch that scoops the mids. A bank of 16 digital footswitchable effects (reverbs, delays, flanges, choruses, auto wah, and rotary) can be assigned to either or both channels. Other features of the Ultrasound CP-100 include effects send/return, an unbalanced line out for connection to a mixer or slave amp, and a balanced DI output for connection to a recorder or sound reinforcement system.
"The CP-100's high headroom and ability to handle attack transients without compressing the sound or getting distorted easily allows you to dig in and express yourself. Whether you pick with skin or nail, play Doc Watson-smooth lead lines or snap the strings with Mississippi Delta force, the CP-100 will transmit everything with the faithfulness of a Steinway grand piano soundboard." - Emile Menasche (Guitar World Acoustic magazine)

Comments about UltraSound Dean Markley CP100 100W 1x8 Compact Acoustic Combo Amp:
The acoustic guitar tone produced by the Ultrasound line of amps is the best I've heard for the price range. This amp is very small for its wattage. Its weight lets you know it's got more than meets the eye, yet it's still not so heavy it's uncomfortable to lift. The idea of having a separate vocal channel is a great one, but the vocal sound quality isn't nearly as nice as the guitar sound quality. Plus, although there are separate tome controls for the two channels, there aren't separate level controls for the effects.
This is an upgrade for me from the Ultrasound 30-watt model, which I really liked, except that it had no reverb. I wanted a louder guitar amp (with reverb) more than I was worried about getting good vocal quality, so overall I'm real satisfied with the amp. It does a great job with my Ovation.
