Comments about Visual Sound GarageTone Series Oil Can Phaser Guitar Effects Pedal:

I waited to give a review on this product to "run it through the mill" to see what it could and could not do. I was pleasantly surprised by the versatility and sound quality I got from this pedal. It sounds great combined with my other pedals and adds a full texture to the sound I get through my Fender amp. If you are looking for something with great sound and don't want to spend a lot of money, this is the pedal for you. Whether you play country, jazz, rock or metal, (which I do)this pedal will fulfill your phaser needs.

Comments about Visual Sound GarageTone Series Oil Can Phaser Guitar Effects Pedal:

I bought this after getting the delay by Visual Sound and being pleased with it. This phase pedal did not disappoint. I like simple features, so this unit is perfect. The sound is, well it sounds like a phaser should. It is a little noisy, but really makes my leads sing when I need a little Hendrix tone. For the price, it is a terrific buy. I have only used it in home at reasonable volumes, so I can't say how it works when you are cranked up, read some other reviews to see what people playing out have experienced.

Comments about Visual Sound GarageTone Series Oil Can Phaser Guitar Effects Pedal:

This pedal sounds great. I was contemplating getting an EH Small Stone, but I am glad I went with this instead. The sound quailty is unbelievable. Combine that with a great price and Visual Sound's reputation, and you have a winner. Get this pedal and you won't be dissapointed.

            great phaser!!!

            By BigRobStratman

Comments about Visual Sound GarageTone Series Oil Can Phaser Guitar Effects Pedal:

I bought this on a whim when my trusty mxr phase 90 died a fiery death in the middle of my solo to Neil Youngs like a hurricane. I always have liked Visual Sound products, and had really just bought this originally to hold me over untill my modded Keely was going to be ready. Right out of the box the build quality was evident, with heavy duty steel casing and hardy, well placed knobs. As i was used to the phase 90 i was worried that the learning curve would be substantial since this is a two knob unit, and the 90 only has one. But the sample settings included in the packiging were a great starting point and i actually gig'd with it the very night i recieved it. This thing is the most versitile phaser i have ever used, so much so i sent the Keely back, as all the extra $200 bought me was a little less noise. Im in a number of projects, from a cover band that plays everything frim aerosmith to tom petty to zeppelin to bush to rage against the machine, as well as a blues project with Ric Manzarec so i play very diverse parts and this little beauty can handle anything i throw at it. From slow hypnotic swells ala " Achillies Last Stand" to a more aggressive pulse ala "Aint Talkin Bout Love" to clean arpeggiated passeges like the verses to "Simple Man" its all there!! And at a pricepoint of arond $60 dollars its a steal. I run mine after compression, before my Blues Driver and clean boost and the sound quality is amazing. My main rig is a Vox custom classic AC 50 head into a older Mesa Boogie 2x12 loaded with Eminence swampthang 150 watt 12" speakers. My pedal board also includes a vintage Boss dm-2 analog delay, a vintage Boss c-2 stereo chorus, a pitchblack tuner and the afore mentioned Keely compressor and an Electro Harmonix LB-1 line boost. I run the delay and chorus thru the effects loop and everything else thru the front end and the tone is just king. For smaller gigs i run the same pedalboard thru my Vox ac-15 reissue but all thru the front end and that tone just kills also. I cant recommend this phaser enough, it sounds as good, if not better than units costing four times as much. Buy this pedal!!! if you dont like it, i'll buy it from you ha ha!!! Well i hope this review helps

            Great cheap phaser!

            By AndrewStrat

            from Kansas City/Nashville

Comments about Visual Sound GarageTone Series Oil Can Phaser Guitar Effects Pedal:

This phaser is pretty great, although it would be a little bit better if the Depth knob could go further- it can't completely saturate your sound unless you put it before an overdrive or distortion. Then again, I wouldn't turn that up that high usually, I'd just like to be able to.When used with clean it doesn't completely take over your sound, just alters it. With distortion it gets a warm, metallic sound. When the speed is turned up anywhere past 2 or 3 o-clock it becomes relatively unusable.Oh, and this before a delay is absolutely wonderful. Overall, I'd say get this if you're looking for a great, cheap phaser. It has a unique sound, it's not like a copy of a phase 90 or something like a lot of phasers. Just great.

            Great sound, great value!

Comments about Visual Sound GarageTone Series Oil Can Phaser Guitar Effects Pedal:

I've been looking for a while for a good sounding, reasonably priced phaser. After a lot of research and trying out pedals, I bought the Gargetone Oil Can Phaser. I like the warm sound and the broad range of tones you can get with the speed and depth controls. The picture makes it seem larger than it is, it's about the size of the Hardwire pedals - a little bigger than MXR pedals but not huge. The metal housing and knobs are solid and should handle quite a bit of use. I like it a lot. If you're looking for a 10-knob physics project or have to have latest and greatest, this probably isn't your pedal. If you want a solid, warm sounding phaser for under $100, this is the one you want.

Comments about Visual Sound GarageTone Series Oil Can Phaser Guitar Effects Pedal:

Simple to understand controls make this pedal easy to operate. A great basic phase pedal with an outstanding tone. The Oil Can really warmed up the sound and recommend including this in your signal chain. Works great with blues overdrive and compressor.
