Excellent tracking that blows away vintage stomps.

The Angry Fuzz is a totally original guitar stomp from Visual Sound that will blow away any other fuzz pedal you've ever tried. Although it has an octave circuit that can be blended in with the fuzz, it is not at all like the Octavia or other vintage pedals for that matter. You can set the Volume and Fuzz levels as well as turn the Bright switch on or off for your basic fuzz tone. Blend in the Octave circuit with the Anger Level knob and voila—the most incredible sound you've heard that tracks with every single note. On single notes it will give you one octave up. Play a two-note chord and you'll get the octave up plus some wild lower octave artifacts.

Blend in an octave up with the Anger Level knob and get crazy low octave overtones to boot! Octave tracking is flawless even with the fastest shredding imaginable. With Volume Level, Fuzz Level, and Anger Level knobs; wide and sturdy stomp button; 1/4" jacks in and out.

From the V2 Series, the V2AF Angry Fuzz Octave guitar effects pedal features a diecast aluminum housing, ultra-reliable 10 million cycle switching, easy battery access and circuit protection from AC adapters.

There are some Holy Grail fuzz sounds for me. One is the fuzz sound that Ron Asheton gets on the first two Stooges albums. The second is the fuzz tone that Jimmy Page got in the latter days of the Yardbirds and first-album era Led Zeppelin. These two fuzz sounds have eluded me for a number of years, and I have a bunch of fuzz pedals. The Angry Fuzz has both of them, depending on how I adjust the controls and the bright switch. The controls are really responsive. The "Anger Level" is the octave-up sound in the fuzz, which is pretty widely adjustable and gives you the amount of octave-up sound you want. This can get you the classic "Purple Haze" sound, of course, but the amount of octave is pretty deep. Turn it all the way up and it sounds strangely mandolinesque - that is, if you had an electric Venusian mandolin. You can also get that weird ring-modulated tone that Tony Iommi gets on the Sabs' "Paranoid," with a little judicious knob adjustment. Backing off the octave and pushing up the fuzz level gets you that Sola Sound Tonebender Mark III mojo. The Bright switch can make it more or less biting and bring out the octave Anger if you need it. The volume level control is a good one, and it gives enough push to where you can slap the crap out of the front end of your amp if you need to, thus bringing in that Hendrixy "fuzz plus overdriven amp" sound. This pedal also takes a wah like no other. A lot of the fuzz pedals I have had make the wah pedal sound bad - or just nonexistent. The Angry Fuzz, however, is perfect for a wah. I put the Vox V847 in front of it and got "I Wanna Be Your Dog" perfectly. Other fuzz pedals, when I put the wah in front of them, echh. With this, it's perfection. It also responds very well if you like to put an overdrive in front of your fuzz to make things even more crazy, as I do. Want that howling "I Heard Her Call My Name" racket? Yes, yet again, it's here. Put a bit of overdrive in front of the fuzz - or just crank the volume - and your ears will be ringing for weeks.Just playing around with the controls and the bright switch, I dialed up a lot of different sounds. Hendrix, Ritchie Blackmore, Tony Iommi, Blue Cheer for sure, and Live at Leeds tones are all in here depending on how you twist the knobs. You can dial in primitive "Satisfaction"/"Pushin' Too Hard" hairball fuzz as well.I know I have not owned a better fuzz than this. For me, this is like boutique, custom-made quality fuzz at a regular fuzz tone's price. I'm not quite sure I'm ready to bag up the other fuzz tones and take them to the music store to trade in for something, but it's definitely made me think about it! Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go play "Loose" some more...

I just can't get a usable tone out of this thing, have had it for about a year or more, just can't find a place on my pedalboard. The octave thing is cool, but it affects my tone even with the fuzz all the way off. Kind of a boost in the mids thing. No tone knob on there, so I can't change it, and I don't want to adjust my eq on the amp for one pedal. It's built well, I imagine the bright switch would get broken after a while, being so close to the stomp switch. Maybe I got a defective one?

Comments about Visual Sound V2 Series V2AF Angry Fuzz Octave Guitar Effects Pedal:

I have been playing for many years but would not call my self experienced, a pure amateur here, but I think I know a good sound when I hear one. This pedal can give you what you want if you take the time to dial it in. Like everyone says, turn down the volume on your guitar then adjust the volume on the pedal. I try to adjust both so that there is little pickup in volume when the pedal comes on. You want all the crackle turn the fuzz all the way up. Just the cream dial it in low.
The octave is good for single note in the high register, if you turn it up too much and play chords you get mud so do not try.
I think it is good for the price and does not get over complicated. I have my sweet spot and will keep it there. Add a Danelectro Cool Kat Vibe and reel Tape echo and I have the "Trower sound" Volume 9 o'clock, Fuzz 12 o'clock and octave 7.5 will get you the sound. Too bad my fingers cant be dialed in the same way.

Comments about Visual Sound V2 Series V2AF Angry Fuzz Octave Guitar Effects Pedal:

I have had Visual Sound pedals in the past.
The Angry Fuzz gives a nice roughed up sound to your lead work. Now..you wouldn't use this pedal on every song...but the songs you would use it for will take on that coveted "Hendrix Octaver Fuzz" effect.
Pedal is super quiet depending where you put it in your pedal chain. The first song I played with this pedal was "Voodoo Chile". I soooooo got the tone I was looking for. My only sole complaint is that it is manufactured in China when the company is in Tennessee. Bummmer. Don't you think American made pedals would sell off the shelves?
        Over all a stellar pedal ! ! !

I found this to be a decent but not great fuzz pedal. I didn't hear enough difference to my distortion pedals and therefore didn't justify keeping it. The octave feature was also pretty bland sounding.

Comments about Visual Sound V2 Series V2AF Angry Fuzz Octave Guitar Effects Pedal:

Besides my problem with not being able to use a battery, this pedal rocks. If you like bands like Fu Manchu or even Hendrix, this pedal will inspire you to play dirty fuzzy riff based stuff. You can get tons of different tones out of this thing, but It is a fuzz pedal not an overdrive, so be prepared to not be able to cover every distortion need with this, but if you like filthy fuzz tones, this pedal will do the job and do it well. Im not joking when i say this, " IT IS FILTHY "
Pretty simple, volume seems to be at neutral level in the middle making it useful to cut or add equal amounts. No tone knob but that doesnt bother me, kinda makes you just play and not worry about that extra nonsense, there is a bright switch for a thicker or twangier tone, which depending on how you set the fuzz and anger settings, can be useful. Has Fuzz amount that does what it says, all the way off is just a little crunch and then it gets pretty dirty as you go up. Anger level is pretty cool, you can blend it in just a little bit for a tone change or max it for some wild sounds literally can sound like a synth effect if you max it out depending on what you are playing. (Also can sound like a Motorcycle or a Race car if you figure out how )
Heres "my" problem which really made me a bit mad. When i got it, I went to the store to get some 9v batteries. Put 'em in and nothing... no lights no sound, nothing. Pulled it out put the second one in and nothing. The one i recieved must have been broke from the factory, plugged in an adapter, and it fired up. I just got the thing and didn't want to send it back but it sucks. Ill get it repaired at a shop if i really want, but adapters are more reliable anyways. Still you can imagine the disapointment when i thought the whole pedal didn't work, and the annoyance of realizing i got the 1 in a half million dud that can't use a battery. As for the rest of the pedal its pretty sturdy, and has smooth solid knobs on it.
Great sounding fuzz, although for most who want an octave pedal it will not totally curb that desire, but it is an effect all to its own. So you basically get two pedals but you kind of only get one at the same time, if that makes sense.

I've had this for a few months now and I have had some fun with it. Lots of awesome tone and the fuzz and octave range are really expandable. The only issue is that it didn't work with my Snarling Dog Wah pedal. I tried everything. Though, it worked very well with all other pedals I ran it through. Have fun with it; it's worth it.

I bought this pedal after I could not get the sound I wanted from a certain green "huge" fuzz pedal. And believe me I tried. This is a much "friendlier" pedal, that has a real nice usable tone. Not to say that it doesn't scream when dimed, but when you dial in the tone your looking for, well can just sort of leave it,and it always sounds great. The angry knob at 10 o'clock gives you a nice edge to the fuzz and after that you start getting the octave up effect, which is very cool by the way,or you can just leave it off for pure fuzzy goodness.Very versatile pedal, and it won't take hours or days to find a good usable tone. The guys in the band love the sound I'm getting from this thing. It looks to be built like a brick s#!#house too. This one stays on my board.

Comments about Visual Sound V2 Series V2AF Angry Fuzz Octave Guitar Effects Pedal:

before settling on this pedal I'd tried several fuzzes and this was the one I ended up with.I tried Voodoo Labs' Proctavia, a Big Muff, the 60's fuzz and tone lock fuzzes from Ibanez,an octavia, and countless others.First for the basic fuzz tone without the octave, I'd loved this one the most and that was probably my primary reason for settling on this pedal. Then it was really cool to have the control over the octave effect with the Angry knob, something the Octavia, Proctavia and other similar pedals didn't have. Although the octave does get less noticable as you add more fuzz just like the classic octave pedals, it was nice to have that option to mix it into the sound so that if I want small amounts of fuzz I'm not stuck having the octave if I don't want it.Also loved how this is a hand made point to point wired pedal. It's just as sturdy as anything made by Dunlop or Boss, maybe even sturdier.and finally, this pedal just looks cool. If I was playing in a band again I would love bringing out this pedal simply because I have not seen anyone else in town with one...in fact, I've never seen them in any of the local music stores that carry VS products.

              Unexpected pedal

Comments about Visual Sound V2 Series V2AF Angry Fuzz Octave Guitar Effects Pedal:

I was looking for some sort of octave fuzz spongy sounding pedal for soloing, and the sales man recommended this guy. I thought this looked kind of childish but this pedal is a beast at what it does. It's a fire breathing dragon waiting to be unleashed. To really appreciate this pedal you have to hear it in the mix with a full band. At first I thought it sounded a little harsh on its own but with a band it fits in the mix perfectly. This pedal will cut through the mix and own it giving you thick smooth fuzz with added octave. Very cool sound for soloing that can get addicting. Your guitar will scream with this pedal.Angry fuzz is probably overlooked due to it not being that known yet but compared to a muff, angry fuzz just has character that turned heads in the store. I find this pedal works best for me when I have the setting close to the middle 9-12 area. I use the pedal into an already driven amp (tsl100) so a touch of fuzz and octave is all I need from this pedal to make my guitar sound nice and fat. If you take the time and adjust this to your playing style and gear it will reward you with a great sound.
