LEDs indicate pedal position at a glance.

With the die-cast aluminum Visual Volume, the rocker position is indicated by a column of ten LEDs. With the rocker fully back (toe up, heel down) all of the lights are off and so is the volume. As you rock your foot forward, the indicators light up one by one until all 10 are lit. When all lights are on, you're at maximum volume. To find your level at a glance, LEDs 1-4 are blue, 5 is red, 6-9 are blue again, and 10 is red.

The Visual Volume Pedal operates on 9V battery or an optional power supply. It will function passively without power though the LEDs will be inoperative.

Visual Volume recommends using a high-quality regulated 9VDC adapter like the 1 Spot. Boss PSA, Dunlop ECB-03, Ibanez AC-109, and Morley 9V also acceptable. The Visual Volume pedal is easy to service. If you ever wear out the control pot, Visual Volume has a kit to restore your pedal to like new service. Many users are even able to make the switch themselves.

Inputs and Outputs

Input 1 and Output 1 are all you need for mono volume control.

Tuner Out: Even with the volume all the way down, the tuner out still sends volume to your tuner, allowing you to tune silently without switching any cables around.

If you don't plug into Input 2, both Outputs send the signal from Input 1, so you can plug into 2 different amps at the same time.

Plug into inputs 1 & 2, and the Visual Volume becomes a stereo volume pedal. Great if you put a Stereo Chorus pedal in front of the Visual Volume.

Or, plug 2 guitars into the Visual Volume and you can make quick guitar changes without unplugging.

Other adjustments

With the removal of the bottom plate on your pedal you can set the pedal for active or passive mode, adjust pedal tension, and in active mode, individually set the gain for each input.

Features
  • Die-cast aluminum housing
  • Blue and red LEDs
  • Active and Passive modes

having recently picked up the VS Jekyll & Hyde, i was very impressed with their products, so naturally, being in the market for a volume pedal, i decided to check out the Visual Volume. I had tried the Ernie Ball Jr and liked it, but i'd also heard alot of problems people had with the string snapping and whatnot. The Visual Volume is hands down, the best option for a volume pedal. its made of metal (not plastic as some people say) has the same wide sweep as an ernie ball, and the LED's are ridiculously bright! Because of the lights, i use the volume like the volume knob on my guitar, and can roll it back and get different tone options, and always know exactly where i am. Someone mentioned a concern about the mechanism inside the device being plastic, but to them i say, this is the same mechanism inside 9 out of 10 wah pedals, and its more reliable than a string.Overall, the best quality volume pedal you can find. If you want to use a volume pedal to just cut your sound when you tune, get something cheaper, but if you want an extra tool that can really help you shape your tone, GET THE VISUAL VOLUME!!

I used to have the Ernie Ball VP JR. Passive Volume Pedal. And when I saw this I was like. "What a great idea! I can now measure visually how loud I should be!" Which is true, the pedal does that. The problem is, is that's its simply not a great volume pedal IMHO. It has a little plastic stick that goes up and down on the volume pot when you rock the pedal. It is not smooth, or that easy to control. Plus the thing has to be active for the lights to work (which is the point of the pedal) and that adds unwanted noise to the signal! Just get good without lights and save yourself some cash and go with an ernieball.

Comments about Visual Sound Visual Volume Pedal:

I rarely review anything but felt that I must share how great this pedal has been. If you perform at several different volume levels this thing does the trick. I can't imagine playing live without it. I always played passive using this and decided to toy around with it and adjust the gain.... WOWWW... This now is a volume+boost. I absolutely love the way it can break up my triple rectifier! If your considering it.. stop and buy it. You wont regret it!

Good but missing one key feature

Comments about Visual Sound Visual Volume Pedal:

First one was defective, replacement works. My only gripe is that it only sends the signal from Input-1 to the tuner. Seems like an oversight with an easy fix, but a pretty big deal to me since I wanted to use two guitars with two different amps and one tuner. Manufacturer confirmed that this is a feature they're considering adding on a new version of this pedal if it ever comes out.

Otherwise it's fine I guess, I don't have anything to compare it to since it's my first volume pedal.

I dislike the whole blue LED trend. As cool as blue LEDs are, they are often way too bright for equipment often used in dark areas. My amp has one and it's blinding when trying to see dials in a darker room. This pedal has them as well x10 and it's also pretty blinding when hooking up cables.

Received this in the mail the other day and I can't be more happy with it. LED is very nice and responsive and is perfect if the room is dark and you need a specific volume. It also can increase your volume even further if the LED lights are all on and can boost your sound in the mix. I highly recommend this pedal from Visual Sound.

Amazing pedal, survived A LOT, still holds up!

Comments about Visual Sound Visual Volume Pedal:

Just a fantastic purchase! I just don't think there's a better volume/expression pedal on the market.
Can be a mono volume, stereo volume, or can function as an expression pedal as well. Love the LEDs that let you know exactly where you are in the sweep!
Takes up a fair amount of pedalboard space, but so does any volume pedal - though this one is a bit larger than the norm.
SUPER solid construction! A few years back at a show, a beer drenched this pedal and it zapped it out. Entirely stopped working. BUT, after a few months - it magically came back to life and is on my board again.
It died by unnatural causes and came back to life. That's quality!
Expensive, but is so versatile and useful!

          Great Volume Pedal!

          By Chris McElrath

Comments about Visual Sound Visual Volume Pedal:

Love it. My favorite volume pedal ever. I hope it lasts forever, but I would buy another one if it wore lost or stolen.
Simple but effective. Does exactly what a volume pedal is supposed to do. No less, no more. But the addition of the LED lights is a useful bonus if you like to use a volume pedal for a lead to rhythm transition, as it helps eliminate the guess work.
Probably the best product of its kind on the market. Definitely the only volume pedal with the LED feature.
A bit more pricey than I would prefer, but what quality product is not.

          the best

Comments about Visual Sound Visual Volume Pedal:

recently got this for a number of reasons. 1) i needed a new volume pedal. 2) i was fed up with the old pot and string on my ernie ball that gave out way too quick. 3) the LEDs!features: LEDs. what more can i say? anyone who doesn't give it the full 5 stars for this is nuts.quality: operates just as good as any other volume pedal. it uses the same mechanism found in wah-wah pedals, so it's just as smooth as the old pot and string. die cast, but very sturdy. and it's pretty much transparent.value: $140 is an obscene amount of dough for a simple volume pedal. i got it for half price used, very happy with it for that.overall, it blows Ernie Ball and Morley out of the water. my old VP Jr. is officially hitting craigslist. very happy!

Great pedal. Far superior to ernie ball passives.

Comments about Visual Sound Visual Volume Pedal:

To preface, I bought this used in like new condition for 60 bucks. It's an incredible value for that little bit of money, let me tell you!Anyways, I just got it last week, and I have not opened it up to play with the gain switches yet, but I am running it in active mode as a mono pedal. It has fairly smooth action, and is a good 3 or 4 inches shorter than a standard ernie ball pedal, which is great on the pedal board real estate! It is made of mostly metal, and seems very heavy and sturdy. The volume sweep is even, and the led visuals are great! It is so easy to get back to your standard volume after doing swells or boosts. If you have played an ernie ball or other volume pedal and thought it robbed your signal of high end clarity then you need this pedal. The internal buffer sounds great, and adds no noise to the signal. If I unplug my cable and go straight into the amp, I can tell no difference in the tone. Fantastic!

Comments about Visual Sound Visual Volume Pedal:

Gives you a visual reference of where your volume is at. Very handy! Only two small discounts for it...I wish they would make the gear inside out of metal...it is plastic. Also, they should have made it wider. Unless you have very small feet, it can be tough to see the LEDs.
