I really like the Sparkle Drive. Tons of volume to drive any tube amp into submission. The clean/drive blend control really makes this pedal versatile. It can be an all out gain pedal, or a strong clean boost. The tone is a little dark, and has a little more "honk" than I normallly enjoy, but I have plenty of other places to compensate for that in my chain. Just a nice tight and focused sound. Very musical.
Not too many extras here, but the clean/drive blend knob is a real treat.
Seems pretty rugged to me, but the power adapter input has wiggled loose a couple times. Happens with lots of pedals, but then again, some never have this problem. For that, it gets an 8.
Easily my favorite overdrive in this price range (and I likes me some overdrive pedals!!!)

If this is truly what an 808 Tube Screamer sounds like, I don't get what all the fuss is about. Sounds boxy and dry.

Comments about Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive Pedal:
This pedal was recommend by a friend. I used it Memorial Day weekend at an outdoor venue and it worked without any problems at all.
Clean Drive - just what I wanted..
Seems to be very robust. Time will tell
Great for the money. No problem there.

Great pedal. I highly reccomend it. If you are looking for a solid overdrive that's got muscle but also has the capacity to be very sensitive for under $200, this is the way to go.
I like the fact that you can blend the clean and dirty signals. It gives you a clearer, more honest tone than many other compressed OD pedals (e.g. BD2, OCD). The only thing that's great but not PHENOMENAL is the actual overdrive itself.
Sturdy.
For 130? Amazing. Other overdrives dont really come close to this one until you get up into the 180 and higher range (Fulldrive 2 is an exception). That clean control helps so much.
Comments about Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive Pedal:
This is my third favorite pedal in the chain. My first is my Boss tuner, second my MXR 10 channel EQ, then the Sparkle Drive OD. I prefer this pedal to the Fulltone OCD, simply because of the ability to blend the sound. If I could make one recommendation for future enhancements, I would like the housing to be smaller. I prefer the mini/micro sized pedals because I could then put more pedals on my already crowded board. I get the best tone out of a '93 Fender Blues Deluxe and playing either my Gibson LP Std or Fender American Deluxe Strat.
As many here have said, the tone knob is what makes this pedal. Having the ability to blend the clean and the crunch really provide a wide range of tonal possibilities.
The case is rugged and has been on my pedal board for over a year without issue. I use the power cord on my pedal board, but have had no issues at the connection.
You'll be hard pressed to find a pedal with similar quality and features at any price range.

This is a great addition to your stomp box collection," Buy one"
Combine this pedal with a Boss CS-3 and you have awesome tone and sound!!, one of my favorite stomps. My Telecaster sounds so good with the addition of this pedal and with both pedals running together my Gibson faded SG with 59' Seymore Duncan pickups gets real big "clean crunch" a great old time tone, awesome pedal!!.

That one line could sum up the entire review. It's a TS-808 clone with no surprises, except for the ability to blend in some clean tone via the Clean knob. I find keeping the blend below 25-30% is best, and I generally keep it at about 20%. Does it "sparkle"? Kinda. I like the tones I'm getting from it. Nice overdrive with some good string definition courtesy of the blend. As such, using the guitar volume knob, you can really clean it up.Another nice use of this pedal is as a clean boost. Turn up the clean knob and the volume knob and hit your other pedals or the front of your amp harder. Works great. I have it on my board with a Plexitube and a Full Drive 2 MOSFET, and it is a nice compliment to the others.

I've been using this pedal for a few months and I'm loving it so far. The "Clean" knob on the pedal really pushes your guitar's tone without breaking up and if you roll it back and kick the "Gain" up, you'll have the classic 808-tubescreamer tone with a tight crunch. Try to work with this pedal for a bit in terms of mixing the clean and gain knobs; I've noticed that some people can't hit that sweet spot, but it takes time.Other guitarists mentioned that the price is a little high, but honestly speaking, $130 is not a bad price at all. A typical tubescreamer-type pedals are usually priced at $100, but the additional "Clean" feature on the Sparkle Drive adds to the price which I think is reasonable, especially if you have an awesome clean tone on your guitar. Lastly, the pedal is built to last so it can take some beating without damaging the inner components and/or the stomp.Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase and it will definitely stay on my board.

I was a lil disappointed but hear me out. I have a TS9 modded to a TS808....It sounds IDENTICAL. Its a well made pedal and it sounds good. This is a cheaper alternative to paying for an 808. The cleaner settings sounds like my strat straight to the amp. The dirtier sounds just like an 808. I like it but having the 808 circuit already I wish I would have spwnt the money on something different.
Comments about Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive Pedal:
If you're looking for an overdrive pedal give this a try. To say this is the best overdrive pedal out there would mirror saying that a Subaru WRX is the best car. There are many cars each with their own great applications. And there are sooo many different kinds of overdrive pedals, each with their own sweet spot on the pedaltrain, but i can say the Sparkle Drive stands out among the crowd. The housing unit is solid, not as thick as MXR, and has cool graphics on the face. The knobs are as follows: GAIN(overdrive level)/ TONE(treble cut for overdrive only)/ CLEAN(clean signal level)/ VOL(volume). The overdrive on most pedals i find to be a bit scratchy (have alot of treble). I tend to have the TONE knob between 9 and noon. If I have it more than that the sound gets too raspy for my taste. The CLEAN is a real nice touch. It essentially blends a boosted clean signal of your guitar along with your overdriven signal. With that option you can dial in some really nice, very full sounding overdriven tones. With the CLEAN up to 2 and the GAIN around 10-11 its a warm boost with slight dirt for melodic solos. I have had this for five months now and have not come across any problem with it. In a nut shell...this is a great overdrive pedal.
