OVERVIEW

Create the buttery, seductive tones of vintage tube amp tremolo, but with a wider range of control!

Voodoo Lab's Tremolo pedal delivers authentic vintage tube amp tremolo sounds from gentle and warm, to machine gun-style insanity all in a single pedal. By using the same lamp and photocell assembly found in many classic tube amps, Voodoo Lab's Tremolo gives you real analog tone right from a compact 9V stomp box!

By using the inventive Slope control, you can change the shape of the tremolo waveform from traditional to full on stuttering madness and all points in-between. Speed and intensity controls provide a wide range that includes very slow and deep sounds, and the Volume control lets you cut or boost the overall output to your amp.

FEATURES
  • Authentic lamp and photocell tremolo circuit
  • Slope control for waveform tweaking
  • Ultra wide range of Speed and Intensity settings
  • Compact, pedal board friendly size
  • True bypass switching with LED
  • Runs on a 9V battery

This is the most versatile, transparent tremolo pedal I have played. It is true bypass so there is no tone loss whatsoever with the effect off, and the effect is also completely transparent (besides the added tremolo effect) when engaged. I had previously been using an Electro Harmonix "The Wiggler" and this thing sounds way better and is far more versatile as far as tremolo is concerned. The speed knob has a much more practical range, and the slope knob allows more subtle tremolo effects to be dialed in, while still being able to get intense like the Wiggler. The slope knob allows you to dial in a wide variety of tremolo effects- from a subtle pulsating tremolo with the knob all the way down, to a choppy effect when turned all the way up that completely cuts the sound in and out rapidly. The volume knob allows you to dial the level of the effect so there's no drop in volume when you turn it on, you can even boost your signal significantly with this knob turned up high. The best feature of this pedal however, is that your tone still retains it's full original quality with the effect engaged, there are no frequencies trimmed whatsoever. My Fuzz Factory sounds just the same behind this whether the tremolo is on or off, turning it on just adds the tremolo effect to the existing sound, there is no frequency trimming of the fuzz tone at all. If you are looking for a versatile warm tremolo with transparent tone and true bypass, look no further. It is also built like a tank and has a 5 year warranty, so how can you go wrong? This pedal is amazing, get it!

I'm starting to play a few venues where the house equipment is fairly decent, but I miss the tremolo that my Vox AC30 has. I don't use it a lot, but it does add that special something when I do. I'm a pretty harsh judge of what comes out of my amp (Love the AC30 tube amp, hate the Valvetronic digital versions). I'm not a modeling kind of guy, and will take tone over features any day. After much research, I decided to give the Voo Doo Labs a try because I didn't want to spend more, and since this would live in my pedal board and only be used occasionally, I wasn't too concerned about the plastic nuts by the input jacks (if you don't use a pedal board, you should be!).As soon as I turned the effect on, significant tone suck ensued. The tremolo circuitry works fine and the controls have a great deal of throw so you should be able to get the settings you want, however as soon as you engage the tremolo, the overall sound got significantly bassier. It was almost like I rolled half my tone off my guitar. It was that noticeable, and back it goes. Don't go by the reviews, listen to what a real tremolo sounds like before making your choice.

Great Vintage Tremolo Sound

By Brendan Wirth

from Undisclosed

Comments about Voodoo Lab Tremolo Pedal:

Surprisingly versitile, and great for anyone looking for a classic tremolo sound. It's more compact than I expected, and fits well on my pedal board. The controls are easy to adjust, and the volume nob is an added bonus. If you're looking for an affordable tremolo that can give you that Creedence Clearwater "Swamp" sound, or classic Tommy James and The Shondells "Crimson and Clover" ring, (which is what I wanted) I think you'll be very happy with this pedal. If nothing else, I think it's a great tremolo pedal to start with. Good luck and Rock On.

Comments about Voodoo Lab Tremolo Pedal:

This tremolo pedal is awesome! I wanted a tremolo that was warm and musical like the trem on old blackface amps and the like, and this pedal delivered just that. It is WARM and MUSICAL! It feels like a natural extension of your playing when it is on. Excellent pedal, and top notch build quality from a very respectable name in the guitar industry. Give it a try and I think you will really like it!

Great sound; addition of the level control lets it match the overall sound exiting the signal chain to the amp. Terrific classic surfy sound, as well as some more 'edgy' classic rock tones. Built like the proverbial tank. 2x thumbs-up

          Tone Sucker!

          By nathan-l5hHb

Comments about Voodoo Lab Tremolo Pedal:

I researched tremolo pedals to add to my pedal board and to play through my mesa boogie roadking II, this pedal has a good tremolo sound, voodoo labs states that this has a true bypass. When I turn the slope control up i can here it bleed through when the effect is not engaged. With my isp decimator turned on it eliminates this, but like others stated it is a tone sucker. But the effect is good.

Comments about Voodoo Lab Tremolo Pedal:

I have been seeking a tremolo pedal for a long time that provides an excellent tremolo sound with NO BLEED THROUGH from the original signal path. If you are searching for the same thing, this pedal is not for you. I have yet to find a pedal that can perform this task. However, this is an excellent product, the controls are very user friendly, the effect works well with the exception of the bleedthrough of sound/signal while the pedal is on. The BEST part about this pedal is the name. Voodoo lab customer service is top knotch. My pedal had an internal issue that crippled its use within the first 4 months. I sent it back to them for repais and received it back within a week fully ready to go. EXCELLENT customer care.

          By Anonymous

          from Undisclosed

Comments about Voodoo Lab Tremolo Pedal:

I'd had this one for a while and I got to tell you- this is one of the biggest signal suckers in history. It does suck out not only your volume but the whole tone, messing up the signal and adding a blatant hiss. You can switch it on/off, doesn't matter. The quality didn't really amaze me. The effect itself sounds clumsy at lower rates; cranking it up at higher rates, though, is where the sweet spot is hiding. The features are more than enough, personally for a good tremolo all I need is two knobs, it's enough to play it heavenly and it's already proven. But that's not the problem. Well, ponder yourself. If this is like the only tremolo you can get- go for it, it does sound better and more natural than Boss TR2, for example, but don't expect from it to work smoothly.

Comments about Voodoo Lab Tremolo Pedal:

I own the EH Pulsar and the Fulltone Supa-Trem and this VooDoo Pedal has them both zipped up tight in a pedal bag that I use for storage. This by far the most flexible Tremelo pedal that I have ever used. The volume knob on this pedal is a God send and all Tremelo pedals should have one. Most other tremelo pedals either suck your tone and volume out or boost it. Personally, I like the tremelo effect to add zero boost in volume. I can achieve that effect with the VooDoo Tremelo. This pedal is so warm and organic. There is zero mud! I can play a single note, simple and complex chordings and they all ring true through this pedal. Hats off to VooDoo for making a QUALITY product. My next purchase will be their Micro-Vibe. I have heard the sound sample and just love it, too.

Just received this nice little box to "vintage out" my Blues Junior and get that 60's tremolo a la Link Wray, Duane Eddy, and all those cats. This is an extremely versatile, quiet unit offering a huge range of speed, intensity and wave shape. The original Tremolux amps never sounded this good! Well worth the money!

It works better than the Garagetone I tried before it. It will not completely chop your signal if placed in front of the amp distortion but it gets pretty close. The tones are good and vintage sounding.

This is the one to get. I have a bunch of other tremolo pedals that I hate. The volume knob is great. I don't know why anybody never put one on before. It makes volume suck or boost non-existent. This thing allows your sound to stay warm and alive. I have two Voodoo Labs units, the other is the Micro Vibe. They both are beautiful. I highly recomend them, especially for the price.

I wanted a tremolo for vintage Duane Eddy sounds and this hits the mark better than any other pedal I've tried. I also use it for Bo Diddley tunes and to add a spooky feeling to arpeggio's. The build quality is excellent. If I have any complaints is that the pedal has a large footprint on the board. Great job Voodoo Labs! I highly recommend this pedal.

            from Canada

Comments about Voodoo Lab Tremolo Pedal:

I picked one of these up to A/B with a Boss TR-2 just because I wanted true bypass. What a letdown. Clicking the foot switch to turn the effect on results in a loud pop as does turning the effect off. With the effect on a rhythmic "thumping" noise is apparent, the frequency of which is determined by the speed control. Turning the volume and intensity controls up results in a sound effect that could pass for that of an idling helicopter. This is without any guitar input whatsoever! The tremolo effect itself is horrible, particularly when compared to the TR-2 which has a real smooth and transparent tremolo. Get the Boss pedal, a way better product for less money.
