An impressive 150W of power and an all new tweeter to satisfy the most demanding players.

The VOX AGA150 two-channel acoustic guitar combo amp is ideal for the acoustic performer. Rippling with power, this 150W amp perfectly projects subtle resonances and sweet, mellow tones of an acoustic instrument. Each of the two channels (Normal and Tube Pre) is equipped with a standard guitar input, as well as microphone input with selectable phantom power. An electro-acoustic guitar or mic can be connected to each channel, making this the perfect amp for a singer-instrumentalist. An additional Lo-Z/Hi-Z switch on each input accommodates a variety of signal levels.

Each channel provides an effective COLOR control. Working in harmony with the traditional EQ, the COLOR knob allows you to quickly shift the tonal response to match your performance. Choose the perfect setting for any performance technique. A full complement of effects is also available on each channel. Versatile design offers the right connections for any situation. The AGA150 provides stereo line inputs that can accept the signal from a keyboard or other audio source to enjoy a jam session. The DI output offers a way to send your sound to a larger PA system without using a direct box, and still allowing the AGA150 to control your mix. The Tuner outputs is always active, even when the main output is muted for silent tuning between songs and sets. The Anti-Feedback control makes the AGA150 a great choice as a stage monitor.

Comments about Vox AGA150 150W 2-Channel Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

A great amp. I was expecting a heavy clunker but was very suprised by its portability. The 12AU7 preamp valve gives it a warm sound in one channel while you have a solid state channel as well. Nice chorus. The colour control is a great feature for added character to your guitar or mic. The EQ offered more than enough range. Can hook up a keyboard through the back as well.

Comments about Vox AGA150 150W 2-Channel Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

This may be the best amp I've ever owned because it's absolutely perfect for small gigs where I play acoustic guitar ('73 Martin D18) and sing through an SM58. Real nice natural sounding clean tone, separate channels for mic and guitar, notch filter works great to kill feedback, high-mid-low EQ is sufficient to dial in good tone, reverb works but I never turn it up too much anyway, and the mute button is a great little addition and conveniently placed. Small and portable. It has everything you need and nothing you don't need (though I rarely ever use the chorus). Perfect for coffee house gigs, brunch gigs, etc.
My only criticism is that the hole in the bottom in the amp for a stand/pole doesn't fit a standard speaker stand pole so you have to use a propreitary pole.

Comments about Vox AGA150 150W 2-Channel Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

I work at a guitar store and we just got this amp in; I absolutely loved it right out of the box. I was surprised at the HUGE sound out of such a small package. Very clear highs and solid lows without getting boomy. I tried it out with several guitars from Epiphones to Martins and they all sounded great with little or no EQ adjustments.

The reverb isn't perfect, but for a digital reverb unit it's surprisingly warm. The chorus actually sounded surprisingly good; it added a little bit of texture to the sound without losing tone quality or sounding like it was "too much."

I also like the option of a solid state channel and a tube preamp channel for added warmth.

Obviously I haven't tried gigging with it yet, but hopefully I'll get my own and have that chance.

Comments about Vox AGA150 150W 2-Channel Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp has been begging for a review …. So,
Is advertised as the "flagship" model, and I question why.
My purchase was directed by all the "input/output" choices, and Vox reputation.
AGA150 model sports an Amp from Bang & Olufson (very quality Danish Brand), super-efficient , and I question why the other models don't ? … an extra tweeter for this 150 model too … consider looking at final OHMs and power-consumption between models suggests advertising tweaks as well.
XLR + ¼ - input is important to me, "gain" Hi-z/Low-z a+++ as I sometimes plug non-active devices, 12AU7-tube channel (industry standard - the book says "signature"?), Phantom-Power onboard, through to that "DI-out" (I have been told is "hot"), DI is pre-effects (and I don't mind) –
The in-between controls are still a question to me, hooking pedals or pre-gadgets will instill feedback if amp is within reaching distance, (directional helps, only "somewhat" that "feedback" rotatory notch knob), keeping a clean vacant sound can be achieved tho, "Volume" is dependent upon that, "Clipping" IS an issue if you try to play loudly creating weird distortion of sound (Vox needs to address this), "Bass" is rich, considering the smallish speaker, "Middle tone ummm, "Treble" I find needs to be kept down (unless you enjoy tinny) … "Color" does a little something but I am not impressed, "Reverb" is more of a hall or box effect (not echo), "Chorus" adds a slight volume but I really can't find any difference ? (my rating = useless) ,
Loudness is not there, my old 1960's 100w Carvin SX can blow it over easily.
Can't say am unhappy with this model, but will say write-up's from those selling this box is somewhat hype. It does what I needed it to do (practice/monitor), is solid and very compact,
I recommend going into a Music Store with all the Vox Models to try (we have no such thing in Alaska), and please let us know your opinion ….. I may be lacking choice or experience to give a true rating on this AGA150, my thing is (gentler) Vocals + plugged-in Acoustic guitar currently ….
Kudo's to MF for having the best Shipping policies in the business…
