I have always played Fender until now. I have a 63 bandmaster that I don't like to take to gigs anymore since it is almost 50 years old. Also have a Fender Vibro-King. Since this baby has arrived I find the other two are not being played much. I love the chimmy tones from the AC-30. The normal channel has that vintage tone that I was looking for. I love the simplicity of the normal channel. I put the master volume all the way up and the normal channel volume around 1/3 and and the tone cut just past half way and I a there! This thing loves pedals. I mostly play my Strat and Italia 12 string through this gem. The 12 string tone is to die for. This amp is very sensitive to where you play around the pickups or up the neck or near the bridge. I can see now why is has been a clasic for so long. The tremolo is great I will have to agree with others that that the reverb is ok, but I guess I am so used to the Fender reverb sound. That is easily fixed with my Boss 63 Reverb pedal. It gives it the sound I like. The Celestion Greenbacks are far and away better than what Fender is putting in their amps today! They are clear and responsive.
I play some Surf tunes and was surprised to find that the AC-30 sounds great playing this type of music. I can understand now why The Shadows stuck with Vox.
I bought this amp without ever playing one. I just did a lot of research and reading a lot of veviews and listening to U-tube videos. Don't let the fact that this amp is made in China scare you away.
THIS IS A GREAT AMP!!!!!!!!!!!
Can't find much about this amp that I don't like.
This thing is built like a tank! It would have been nice to have the vent covers and logo made from metal instead of plactic, but made well non the less. The cosmedics are great. It is a really cool looking amp.
The price is well within the ball park with other like amps.

I was originally going to get the AC15 because the price is great, it's plenty loud for my solo jamming and it had everything I felt I needed. Butmright next to it was the AC30 so I gave it a try. Even at very low volume, it just sounded warmer, thicker and fuller. The 2x10 really makes a huge difference over the 1x10 of the AC15 but you have to play them side by side to notice it. I liked it so much more than the 15 that I waited a few more weeks and shelled out almost double my original budget. It was that good. Here is a great tone tip: the top boost channel is much brighter and has a lot more gain. The normal channel has less gain but is much warmer. I plug into top boost and then jump the channels together with a patch cable. then I roll back the bass on the eq allowing the warmth of the normal channel to compensate for it. I've never been so in love with an amp tone before. Try it out, you'll love it.
7 out of 10 on the features because it has everything you could ever ask for EXCEPT a separate master volume so you can't switch from clean to dirty on the fly. If you're clean on one channel and then plug into the other, you're still clean unless you adjust. Not a huge deal but it is the one and only complaint I have about my AC30. If you want to go clean to dirty in a stomp, you need a pedal. Luckily, it takes pedals really really well.
The build quality is great. I just don't like the plastic corner guards. it's only a matter of time before they break if you gig with it. But the amp itself seems very well made.

Comments about Vox Custom AC30C2 30W 2x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:
I have been playing guitar for over fourty five years and I have to say that this amp lives up to it's reputation. I have a 1965 AC30 my dad gave me and its still kicking butt.the ony difference is the tube rectifier, I changed the stock tubes for a set of JJ,s and now this amp really sings best buy in a long time,I play a Gretsch White penguin-Stratocaster-LesPaul custom and a telecaster they all sound great, each one has it own distinct tonalaty which makes this amp a very versatile tool in your music arsenal get one soon.

Comments about Vox Custom AC30C2 30W 2x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:
The Vox AC 30 is the best clean amp sound I've ever heard. It can produce epic clean - whether you want bright or warm tones this amp covers it. And when you want dirt you can drive the pre-amp/channel tubes up and you have many flavors of dirt. Also, if you drive up the power tubes with the pre-amp turned low, you get a different kind of drive that is more "clear" sounding. My rig has a Gibson Les Paul and a Custom Fender Strat and they both sound tremendous on this Amp.

Comments about Vox Custom AC30C2 30W 2x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:
This is the best sounding amp I have ever played through. I have been striving to get "my sound" for years, but I couldn't get what I wanted until I plugged into my AC30C2 Combo. It makes anything from the most beautifully warm clean sound possible, to a more bright and gainy sound, and everything in between. I have a Gibson Studio Les Paul (humbuckers), and a Fender Standard Telecaster (single coil). Both pickups on both guitars sound amazing through this amp. You cannot beat the clean sound of a neck pickup through an AC30. Though this amp is already incredible sounding, when I plug my Ibanez Tube Screamer (TS9) into it, I get some amazing sounds with any amount of gain that I want. I highly recommend purchasing a Tube Screamer (TS9) if you are considering this amp. I swear this pedal and amp were made for each other. I use this setup to play mostly indie/alternative and classic rock, but believe me when I say you can get a lot of great sounds out of it. The combo is powerful enough to gig with, yet small enough to practice with in your home. My favorite feature this amp has would be how well the tubes react to the player's style. You can really make a lot of different sounds through this amp just by fluctuating how hard you pick! The only con to this amp is its weight. It is very heavy, but then again, that is to be expected! Greatest amp I have ever played through!

Comments about Vox Custom AC30C2 30W 2x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:
Don't let the size fool you - it's louder than my Marshall MA100 half stack! Make sure before you "judge" this amp that you break in the Celestions. It sounded good out of the box and it keeps getting better. Definitely has a "Vox" sound and all the controls work exactly as advertised. The tremolo and reverbs are really good. Took me only 10 minutes to dial in the sound I wanted on all 4 inputs. I don't know why the heck I haven't bought one of these before now. Good versatility, but not a "metal" amp - I didn't buy it for that. Definitely enough power for a club venue and mic'd up? No limit. It's a Vox, sounds like a Vox and that's exactly the sound I wanted. Yes, it's heavy and when it comes to amps, heavy is usually good. In this case I don't mind it at all, worth the lugging around to get the sound.

Comments about Vox Custom AC30C2 30W 2x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:
I previously owned the AC30CC2 and traded it for a Fender Deluxe amp. Stupid decision on my part. The AC30C2 is way more versatile for a guy like me who plays everything from SRV to Radiohead. I recently bought the new AC30C2 and I must say is an improvement over the AC30CC2 mainly due to the speakers. The Celestions are way better than the Wharfdales. So rich and smooth. Creamy, clear, and thick overdrive, nice and rich. And cleans that sound so true to the guitar design. I play a Les Paul and Strat and both sound amazing.I've played everything from Hendrix and SRV to Oasis and Radiohead and got the tones I needed by tweaking the settings. This amp loves pedals btw. For the price you can't beat this amp. I could've spent $2000 on an amp and not been this happy!!!
Comments about Vox Custom AC30C2 30W 2x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:
This amp is the best amp for 1000 dollars, in my opinion. The top boost channel has unbelievably rich tones for just about any music style. Jump the normal and top boost channels together to get some screaming distortion. Roll the preamp volume down and get some perfect, chimey clean tones. Works extremely well with pedals and the effects loop is great as well. The only things i can complain about are the handles. For 1000 bucks, I think Vox could have used something other than plastic... Other than that, this thing is built like a TANK. Not fun to carry around though, LOL. Don't be discouraged by this amp being made in S. Korea, the quality is astounding.
Comments about Vox Custom AC30C2 30W 2x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:
Got one of these a few months back and I am so glad I did too. This amp just sings. If ya jump the channels this amp is a rock monster. I have a couple ABY boxes and run clean thru one channel and distortion boxes thru another, so I have two foot switchable channels. P.S. The Tech 21 Character Series pedals rock thru this amp. I have always liked Greenback speakers and am super happy with the sound they bring to this amp. The Tone of this amp is Super and a perfect start to a great sound. Once ya get used to how the knobs work you can dial in a great tone. Yes the knobs work differently than other amps, but you'll figure it out. This amp is a keeper and I would highly recommend it. I bought the AC4TV as well and am really happy with Vox's products.
