I bought this cab to go with the Night Train and it was a very good choice. What I ended up with was an equivalent of the AC30 at several hundred dollars less than the AC30 combo. For the money, this cab is a really good deal. As far as the sound goes, It is the other half of the Vox equation. Try one out at your local music store and you will see what I mean. If you are looking for the jingle jangle sound of a Vox amp, this is a really good choice.
For the price, this cab sounds wonderful. I use a mesa dual rectifier trem-o-verb to power it and have never had any problems. The speakers have a nice crunch too them, but get slightly distorted when cranked to high volumes. I rarely use my distortion channel, but if that is the sound you are going for this cab will defiantly give you the tones you are looking for.
I bought this cab to use with my AC30CC2X, AC-50 and AC-15TBX. It makes my AC-15TBX awesome and the same with my AC-50. I can't say enough good things about the Wharfdale speakers. I think I might get an extra cab or two. The speakers work very well with all my tube amps and that makes choosing the right combination of amps for the sound easy. You can't go wrong with these speakers. The cabinet is just the right size, makes handling easy, sturdy and looks and sounds great. Typical Vox.
This is the best freaking amp cab i have ever herd. I play my marshall thru it cause im to cheep to by a 1960's cab, but its got such a great tone to it and its bilt like a rock, i love it so much im gona by anuther for the full stack-like rig. My dad is an oldschool musican and when his band (Madelin Storm) recorded an album back in the day they used a fender rig that my dad still owns and has never heard a better rig untill now. I love the cleans to the overdrives this can pump out any amp it is only 60 watts but if u got 2 or even just one u can still mic it at a show and u will have plenty of volume. I have played just about every head in the bridge of harmony (my local music store) thrue it and they all sound great. Deffinently buy this beast like i said b4 its the best freaking cab ever.
So I spent 3 hours in a store trying out all of the expensive cabs, the Marshalls, the Mesas ect. For a lark I decided to try out the Vox cab, given its low price I didn't expect much, but after striking a solid barre chord I realized that this was the sound! It's cheaply built so I reccomend treating this sucker like gold, but the sound is there, totally British with an impressive chime without sounding brittle or clinical. This has soul.
I was looking for a cabinet to add to my AC30CC2, and this cabinet is definitely the best money can buy. I have celestion vintage 30's in the combo, and the stock vox speakers in the cab and together they create quite the mellow vintage tone.Great quality cabinet!Highly recommended!
So heres the deal, I wanted to get into amp modeling and I wanted something classic looking and something very classy. I was also looking for a 2x12 so I could play without blowing my head off. I paired this with the Tonelab desk top and a vox wah. I put it through the power amp in my rack gear and it sounds amazing. Its real easy to take and gig with with and it draws compliments everwhere I go. People ask me wheres the amp and I point to the tone lab and the PA and people are amazed. They think im playing a vintage amp. I couldnt be happier, but I'm a bit of a homer for vox stuff
KUDOS to the Beaverton Oregon Guitar Center for having one of these bad boys there for me.I'm a Blues Man and this is one barking dog of a cabinet.I run A Vox AD100VHT head through mine at about half mast so's I don't choke her out and she's got what I'm needing for my gig.Good job Vox family. Laine on the Oregon Coast
I'm trying to be careful about giving high ratings, but this cab is worthy. I was worried that for the price, this would be a cheap cab, but it's just a good manufacturing system by Vox. It doesn't state it on this website, but it is made from birch, and while Wharfdale might not ring a bell like Celestion Vintage 30, they are quality speakers, and they match up nicely with the Vintage 30's I do have.
