i bought this cab to go with my AD100VTH head. I was previously using an open-back Vox 212 custom classic. great amp with an amazing about of control for the volume. I compared it side by side with a Valvetronix 4x12, and hands down this was a clear winner - much better low end, much warmer tone. and for only $100 more, i couldn't say no.if you like the VOX sound, this cab will represent it perfectly. it's very heavy and sturdy - i don't mistreat my equipment, but it's nice knowing that if it drops, it will survive.
Don't get me wrong, I love this speaker cab. I play a more treble sound, so it works great, but I find that its a little difficult to coax a lot of bass out of this cab. I play a B-52 AT100, and they sound great, for me, together. Maybe if I become famous I'll add a second cab to give me a little more bass, but now its cool and I like it.
I use this cab with a 60Watt valvtronix head. Its made out of birch and so it resonates well especially for recordings. The cab is very rugged and unfortunately heavy. I don't mind the weight too much however cause its crunchy, bassy, and heavy as you could want. It also has dual 8ohm stereo outputs as well as a single 16ohm mono input which makes it very versatile. Be careful with the caster wheels as they aren't the toughest. As far as the sound and look of this amp, I could not be happier.
I use this amp with the Vox AD120VTH Valvetronix Stereo Head and the Vox VC-12 Valvetronix Footcontroller and the three together are a dream lineup. The amp gives you more than enough volume to fill even the largest concert halls. A+
