Seriously, seriously, I have had a lot of wahs in my years of playing and have never been really happy with any of them. I had been stuck on the optical circuit no pot wahs for years and this is my return to the pot wah. The features here are down played maybe too much. First off this is not a hard wired bypass pedal and that is fine in fact it's better. Anyone who does not know a good buffer circuit is just as essential as having all true bypass needs to become educated. Place this first in chain and your signal will be the best it can be. Two separate and ajustable wahs here. Mode i is a great voiced std Vox wah that you can change the voice from std bright to darker with a click. It has both a UK and a USA inductor for both basic wah tones use either. The 2nd wah also has a adjustable boost to really drive the amp or gain box. Set mode 1 to a basic wah and mode 2 to a gained up lead monster. All modes and options extremely musical, smooth, tonal and just the best sounding and feel you will ever have on any wah. I dig all the Vox Satriani boxes they are just so tonal. If you are looking for the ideal wah you will not be disapointed here.

Like the majority of "all in one" or "dual function" pedals, the Big Bad Wah from Vox falls short. Although I do credit it is a cool concept, to have the two more popular inductors in one pedal, it doesn't fly. The wah types sound fine, and that's it. It is decent in all categories. For this cost, I want a fantastic wah. With stuff like Teese and Fulltone on the market, I don't really know why you would pony up the cash for this.

Comments about Vox Joe Satriani Big Bad Dual Wah Guitar Effects Pedal:
Like the range you get with the 2 wah settings and the drive. The whole thing is just better than other wah's I've owned.
Love the different wah's and its response.
Have been playing for 40 years & this is the best wah I owned.
The usual Vox rugged quality
Compared to what I would've paid for it in NZ it was a bargin.
Comments about Vox Joe Satriani Big Bad Dual Wah Guitar Effects Pedal:
I got this pedal about a year and a half ago and immediately fell in love with it. This pedal has a nice feel to it and I love to use it. This pedal on clean sounds SOO good it will blow you away. It also sounds great with distortion but is better for leads than anything. (on distortion) Overall this pedal is great and i would recommend it to anyone.
Comments about Vox Joe Satriani Big Bad Dual Wah Guitar Effects Pedal:
I''ve got the Morley Bad Horsie, Bad Horsie2 and the Lynch Dragon Wah, and I believe the Satch wah can do all of what those pedals do, and more. Just got it, and am only scatching the surface of what it can do. By the way, any recommendations on a power supply/ I use a Dunlop Brick, will that be safe. Also I have an extra Digitech PS200R, will that do? I wanna make sure I don't fry this thing, it wasn't CHEAP!
Comments about Vox Joe Satriani Big Bad Dual Wah Guitar Effects Pedal:
To clarify the options on this pedal: mode 1 wah is a std voice Vox Wah w the option of switching inductors from UK to USA which yields a more classical mellowed wah to the more agressive USA inductor. Mode 2 wah is where you step out with a 2nd wah option via a single click (in real time if desired) again inductor change option (keeping in mind the selection of inductor is blanket for both wahs). There is a voice option on mode 2 of a more std voiced wah to a deeper darker voiced wah. Mode 2 also has an adjustable gain knob from flat to _10db boost for a real power wah on leads. So you can set up your std wah and then click over to a boosted power wah for a solo. Major cool pedal here. Two wahs for the price of one, well worth it. The pot is smooth and the range is short but goes through the useable freq range on a wah, no doubt hyper tuned to Joe's specs. While not as heavy as the typical crybaby or Vox iron bricks, the pedal is well made, seem to be top shelf compenents and the design and feel of the pedal just feels like a musician spec'd it. I seriously do not know what wah would be better than this one, it would be hard to imagine. There is no auto-wah envelope trigger here but that is no big deal as the versitility of this pedal will impress the most diehard technical player. I continue to be impressed by all the Vox Satriani boxes, they have pushed my other pedals off the board, A real tone monster.

Comments about Vox Joe Satriani Big Bad Dual Wah Guitar Effects Pedal:
I know it seems tacky and juvenile to simply give the highest rating possible, but hear me out first.Over the past 6 years, I have wanted a good wah pedal that didn't feel like it lacked something in some fashion. From a Hendrix-Wah to the proclaimed CryBaby all the way up to digital modeling wahs and boxes from multi-effects pedals, I never found one I liked. Eventually, I became bored of searching and quit looking altogether. To make a long story short, I came across this beast and I can't recommend it enough. It sounds amazing and can be tailored to many different tastes. Personally, I like a large heavy sweep for high distortion and a shallower bottom end for clean pieces - you can do both with this wah. It's built very well and not with flimsy and crappy parts - steel screws and metal frame as opposed to any of Digitech's plastic catastrophes. This Wah will last, and keep you entertained the whole way.
Comments about Vox Joe Satriani Big Bad Dual Wah Guitar Effects Pedal:
I recently bought a Clyde Delux to replace my Dime CFH waw. But after such decent results with my Vox JS Saturator I wanted to try the JS Vox Waw as well. I was so surprised at the feedback action and tone with the Vox compared to my Clyde I had to follow my ears. Im only using the basic Waw # 1 on this Vox here and I'm wondering if it is the more modern amps that many of us have these days as well as some of these distortion pedals with modern semi conductors. The action I was getting with the JS Vox is so nice it's making me wonder if the older Germainum Transistors Fulltone uses are better suited for older amps with paper filter caps and point to point wiring along with older pedals as well being more of the same chemistry. I can catch feedback with the Vox and manipulate the pedal and it will change the note and feedback as I work my tremolo bar and it is awesome sounding. I try this with my Clyde and the feedback does not hang on and all I get is the Clydes inductor scratch. So I turned it up a bit and I still have a lessor action compared to this JS Vox. Im using two Fender 5150 III's and one satruator split into both amps front end. For me the Vox JS Waw is superior with what Im using so I shipped my Clyde Delux back and saved me some money.
Comments about Vox Joe Satriani Big Bad Dual Wah Guitar Effects Pedal:
i, as many of you have, have played with every wah on the market, my favorite being the old standard voxs. this pedal is the long awaited improvement to the simplistic genius of the old vox. on channel 2 (the customizable) on flat settings, it sounds identical to the vintage wah, so what are you all complaining about? this little gem lets you take that age old gold and tweek it any way you want to. little pricey, but worth every dime in my opinion. get it; you know you want it.
Comments about Vox Joe Satriani Big Bad Dual Wah Guitar Effects Pedal:
It took me a while to like this pedal at first. It seemed like everything I had it set to made me sound like Satch. I know I know he designed but I didn't want to sound too much like Joe himself. Once I got my settings the way that I liked them, this pedal gave me the wah that I was looking for. The only thing I only don't like about it is, when activating this pedal you hear the click every now and then. But its problably my power supply. No other pedals click on me.
Comments about Vox Joe Satriani Big Bad Dual Wah Guitar Effects Pedal:
From the time i heard that JS was working with Vox to make custom pedals, i said that if he made a wah, i would buy it. I'd been wanting to switch to a vox for awhile, and the release of the big bad wah was the perfect time to do it. The dual feature is great, and both wahs sound killer. its a great combo of vintage and modern in one. I picked this up and had a gig afew days later and it absolutely rocked. The drive boost sounds great for solos. I have it a 9 on features because a on/off LED woulda been nice, and a 9 on value because i feel like without Satriani's name on it, it woulda been $20-$30 cheaper, but i would buy this again in a heartbeat. Great pedal!! Best wah i've ever played
