I can't describe how happy I am with this. I bought it more or less on a whim because I saw the price that was being offered for it. Originally i was between a deluxe memory boy and a TC Nova repeater. while the repeater especially has more features, i've learned and happily accepted that all that would be a waste of money since I wouldn't use it. If this broke or was stolen there is a chance I would probably go to a different delay, but if its going to be continued to be offered at 150 I'll definitly try to buy it again... but if I'm broke when that happens I'll have to sadly make do with some cheapo delay... lets hope that doesn't happen.
Has much more features than what you immediately see by looking at it. And for the price I was able to get it at (150) I was more than pleased. The tap tempo feature is by far my favorite allowing me to have much more variety than what I had with the rogue analog delay. You get a Ton of delay time for the money you spend and when you set the feedback knob all the way up, you can get it to self oscillate which was a huge plus for me. (Idk how much I'll actually use that but still its sweeeet). the only reason it didn't get a complete full score on features is because I would have liked to see an option to add or decrease modulation on the delay. The vintage mode has a slight mod to it to give it that tape delay warble... but I'd have liked to control it a little more. but still for what I paid for I can't complain. Back when the TC electronic nova repeater was at this price I probably would have gotten that one for this reason. Over all though You can't beat this pedal.
Every thing about this pedal is top notch, the build is excellent and sturdy, and it just looks good. Im not a huge fan of the color green but the chicken headed knobs are great asthetically. I trust this pedal to withstand a beating.
I don't know why people aren't rushing to get this pedal. I think it was priced much higher a few months ago if my memory and the other reviews on this is correct. So if you can get this at the 149.99 price, DO IT NOW. dont ask your mom just do it. For the sound quality, build, and total amount of features for the price I paid for this, I feel like it is the absolute best pedal I could have gotten for the money. Don't let the fact that its a signature pedal make you put your nose up at it. If you want tap tempo, oscillation ability, delay range control and two types of delay in one pedal for under 200. Don't delay and get this... delay.

I have been in the process of getting back to an all analog signal path. Like a good tube amp, they too are touch sensitive too. Your guitar's volume knob & your touch have a lot of control over your tone. They have a warmth that digital products lack. I bought this because I needed a bit more delay time for a few things.
The time machine is too clean, too clear. The HiFi switch has a marginal effect on tone, the vintage modern modes also have a minimal effect a. It's pristine clarity is great for acoustic tones & is the reason I'm keeping it. But I really feel the Boss DD's are just as good & cost a whole lot less. It doesn't come near the Carbon Copy for analog tone & modulation.
It has tons of features. Plenty of delay time, tap tempo, hifi lowfi, vintage/modern, mono stereo operation. But still easy to use.
The housing is strong, but inside reveals plastic jacks & switches wave soldered to a PC board with a processor onboard. It looks like modeling technology, something I was trying to get away from. But based on my other experiences with Vox products, I predict it will last a long time.
this much $ for a digital delay like this one is pushing it. My favorite delay, the analog Carbon Copy is much less. The DD3 is even cheaper. I think the Satriani Vox pedals are a bit pricey. You have to be carefull with signature products. I think it's adding a lot to the cost.

I've only gigged with it about 4-5 times, but so far it's been great. I use the tap feature to get the right rate on the delay as i change songs. That rules. Looking forward to digging a little deeper but so far I've been able to get some killer sounds.
I love the tap-to-set-the-rate feature. I'm sure other pedals have this now too, but it works flawlessly. Haven't tried the stereo outs yet, but will soon and looking forward to it
great delay sound, works as advertised. Looks slick, seems solid.
Comments about Vox Joe Satriani Time Machine Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:
I absolutely love this delay pedal. It has so many features and is also really easy to use.The tap tempo is a major plus for me, but you van also manually adjust the time for cool, weird effects. I love the "delay range" feature, which allows you to select the type of delay according to the tempo. Both the modern and vintage modes sound great, with the former being a little crisper and clearer and the latter having a subtler effect. Overall wonderful pedal. I am so glad I own it. :)

I just bought this pedal and it is amzing! It has enough level, time, and feedback that any guitarist could want. It dosnt take that much room on my pedalboard and has a really good price for $125. I love this pedal.

Sorry. I have to correct my prior review. This unti is line level and works well in loops. I had another problem which was not apparent when I first hgooked it up.This is great delay, be hard pressed to find a different one and please Boss pales to this unit, it's better. Boss are NOT true by-pass, true-by pass by the way cuts off the signal without trails, that is what bypass does. Satch used to use 2 Boss units now he has 2 of these, note how much better his sound has gotten dropping the Boss DS-1 for the Satchurator and the Timemachine delays! I would buy this unit and I cannot wait to get my hands on it again.
Comments about Vox Joe Satriani Time Machine Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:
Since those reading this will be more interested in the tonality and craftmanship of this pedal, I'll break it down easy (a totally subjective look, though, considering 'what-sounds-good' is a preferential statement). Craftmanship: The chassis of this is very solid, the LED-indicators are very visible despite their small size, pots are extremely smooth, and the switching/tap functions great. Extremely well made. Tonality: No spillover function (once you kick the bypass on, your delay will be cut off). Hi/Lo-Fi options + Modern/Vintage options give you tons of delay characteristics to go through (from straight digital reproduction to tube-tape simulation). In summation, think of a DD-3 with a tap tempo, and the option to toggle between two EQ settings, and you'll get a near-perfect idea of what this thing sounds like.
Comments about Vox Joe Satriani Time Machine Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:
To follow up on my last review: I have to sadly report I took this unit back and exchanged it. This is a great echo, great sound, good features, just one problem, IT IS NOT LINE LEVEL. It is made to run into your amp-in line. I like having my amp in line down to essential pedals to keep the line loading and tone buffering down. I run 5 effects which have to be line in and having to put the delay/echo into that was not desirable. An experienced player also knows that a delay into pushed tubes is not good, the compression screws up the echo quality. The same for you young guys running a echo into a distortion, just not good quality tone. This unit is fine if you have an old Marshall with no loop, but not if you like having your modulation and delay effects in a loop to get them out of the chain and after the preamping. I got the Boss DL-20 Giga Delay, which dispite being a Boss unit exceeds all expectations and has features you better read the manual to take advantage. Quite amazing actually. The Vox JS-DL is a good musical echo, if you have no loop it's fine. But it cannot output the +4-5 db a line level requires. It would be nice if they came out and said this. I was suffering a volume drop on the loop when I started looking into the problem and discovered it is only an instrument level unit.
Comments about Vox Joe Satriani Time Machine Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:
I have a large rig. I am running two Fender 5150 III Heads and three cabs. One Cab has Greenback 30's and the others are those Krank cabs with those Eminence Texas Heat speakers. I like to blend the two speakers since my signal is so dirty anyway. In my Rack I have 1 Korg SDD 1000 and I had an old Vintage Roland SDE 1000 and a 3000 digital delay. Those units in their day were the units to have. I have also owned a MXR 113 Digital delay but it made a little bit of noise and I didn't have the other memory cards for needed memory. I not too long ago bought an Eventide Time factor stomp box. It was too complicated and it seemed to mess up my amps sound or it seemed to have a bunch of stuff I didn't need or couldn't access when I needed to. I even owned a Line 6 Delay modeler and it seemed to mess with my amps sound too. I didn't spend that kind of bread on Amps to then go buy another item that would restrict it's tone or energy. I tried this Time Machine and I am just literally floored! I can't believe the quality of sound and simplicity. For me honestly, the only thing better is a tape echoplex and from what I am hearing it is not too too much better. It is ok but not for the $$. Easy access here too with this green Time machine. I ran the other line out from the Time Machine's Dry output and into my other Fender 5150III and Holy Cow Andy!! I really don't need my other delays anymore. The action, the sound and tap tempo feature!! I love it! Im running a Deja Vibe 2 into my Clyde Delux Waw and then into the Vox Saturator and into my Green Time Machine and into both amps. I sold my Vintage rack delay to buy this with absolutly no regrets!! In fact I want to buy two more of these just to save new in their boxes.
