OVERVIEW

The MINI5 Rhythm offers 11 amp sounds inherited from the popular and acclaimed Valvetronix Series, plus eight effects and a new rhythm function. You can choose from 99 different variations of rhythm patterns to back your performance or practice along to. The compact body also packs plenty of additional functionality such as a mic input, AUX input, and a dedicated E-string tuner, letting you play your guitar with the high quality tone you'd expect from VOX.

A rich variety of amp models and effects
There are 11 realistic amp models taken from the flagship Valvetronix Series that support a broad range of styles and playing techniques, including perfect simulations of the legendary VOX AC30 that capture the sense of drive typical of vacuum tubes, as well as models of intensely powerful high-gain amps and transparent, clean types. New to the series is a built-in VOX original "Bassilator" circuit, which covers the ultra-low-frequency overtones that cannot be obtained via EQ. This is particularly effective for high-gain models and produces an intensely heavy sound that seems unthinkable from an amp of this size. In addition, there's a pure and clean-sounding LINE input without any distortion, making it an ideal choice for acoustic-electric guitars or keyboards. There's also a full complement of effects, including compressor, chorus, flanger, and tremolo, as well as delay/reverb types. With a total of eight varieties of effects, you'll have plenty of options for shaping your sound.

Versatile rhythm functions
As its name suggests, the MINI5 Rhythm features a newly added rhythm function. It provides 11 built-in rhythms in styles that include 8-beat, 16-beat, rock, metal, and R&B, as well as a built-in metronome. With nine variations for each style, you'll have a generous 99 rhythm patterns to work with. You can easily call up the rhythm pattern you want and adjust its tempo and volume for a great way to jam along with high-quality rhythm patterns, to try out ideas for a new riff or phrase, or to practice playing to a beat to improve your performances. Since these rhythm patterns cover a wide range of musical styles, it is easier to get into the feel of the song being played, making otherwise routine personal practice sessions more enjoyable.

Battery-powered operation
The MINI5 Rhythm features two-way power that can run on batteries (six AA batteries) or an AC adapter (included). Batteries allow up to approximately 19.5 hours of operation (with POWER SELECT set to 0.1W), making this amp an ideal choice for street performances or outdoor playing. It also comes with a carrying strap for easy transport, letting you enjoy playing guitar wherever inspiration may strike.

Plenty of input/output jacks, ideal for the singer/performer
In addition to a guitar input, the MINI5 Rhythm also provides additional types of input and output jacks. The mic input provides an adjustable volume and lets you apply a delay/reverb effect, providing support for vocals. There's also an AUX input that can accept an external audio source such as an MP3 player. It can be used in conjunction with a guitar and mic, for a total of three inputs simultaneously. Also provided is a headphone/line out jack with a built-in cabinet simulator so that when you're recording directly into a multi-track recorder or practicing with headphones, you can obtain the same great cabinet resonance you'd get if you had set up a mic in front of the amp.

Switchable power amp wattage
By switching the wattage, you can regulate the volume while still retaining the sense of drive and air obtained by turning the master volume all the way up. The wattage can be switched in three levels: 5 / 1.5 / 0.1W.

Comments about Vox Mini5 Rhythm Modeling Guitar Combo Amplifier:

I have a Tour Rig, I have 2 combo amps for small jams..... BUT, I needed something small with battery powered option so I could practice electric bass anywhere , anytime... in my bedroom.. the patio... the park ... whatever..... This thing surpassed all expectations...... didn't realize how cool having an onboard drum machine was .... great for inspiration ( and the beats are a great mix for practice)....

Without the compressor used, its not loud enough and seams like just another tiny amp sound....but that compressor (variable) makes this a beast for practicing......

Can you play with others??? I guess... especially acoustic instruments..... and I feel its just loud enough for busking too (playing in the streets) .... To play with a drummer etc its probably not loud enough unless they're playing at low/practice volume

Anyway, Very Very in love with this little cool amp.... Its suppose to be for guitarists but as a Bass Player, I think its a phenomenal practice amp

Comments about Vox Mini5 Rhythm Modeling Guitar Combo Amplifier:

I spend most of my lunch breaks playing my traveler guitar in my car but I really wanted to be able to hear it better. This amp fits the bill perfectly! It runs on 6 AA batteries and is plenty loud (I use it on the 0.1w setting to save power). The sound, or I should say sounds, are awesome. There's an amp model for every taste and the built-in effects are a nice touch. I opted for the Mini5 over the Mini3 mainly for the built-in rhythm section. I don't plan on using it for street performing but I'm sure it would work great for that (this will mainly be my practice amp). For the price, with all of the included features, you really can't go wrong with this amp.

Comments about Vox Mini5 Rhythm Modeling Guitar Combo Amplifier:

I was seeking a small, portable amp to busk with, that could operate on batteries and was light and easy to transport if I had to park and walk a bit to my playing location.
This is perfect! I have used it in the house (on 1.5w setting, volume at about 30%) and out busking with batteries (5w setting - volume at 40%, gain at 40%) sound quality and volume was very good.
I like the many inputs/outputs, the full control over mic volume vs guitar volume, and the control you have over reverb/echo timing, etc. Just really happy and pleased with this product!!!

Comments about Vox Mini5 Rhythm Modeling Guitar Combo Amplifier:

I got my little mini guitar amp yesterday and it is amazing. It is a battery powered monster of sound and music, and so small that it is like carrying a pair of shoes. The sounds, rythmns and features are far better than I expected. Vox has surpassed and far outrun Marshall amps for sound quality and functionality.

I'll be using it with a mini band weekly on the beach and in weekly Bible studies. We can use the preset rythmns or premixed sound tracks to jam with. Extra instruments add to the mix. The microphone jack with volume control and reverb effects makes this very versatile for any situation. It has more than enough volume for acoustic band settings.

Some of the models are a bit too gainey for harp, but most work quite well and effects are good. Two inputs are great. A great practice amp with rhythms, metronome, and aux input. A great "garage" amp.

Comments about Vox Mini5 Rhythm Modeling Guitar Combo Amplifier:

If you use it on crowded performances, don't expect it to sound good because it's only 5 watts maximum. If you are going to play loud because there's many people...It won't do. But its best used in practicing/gigs/small bars with a few people. The mic is not that loud but it's best for street performance. Otherwise, It is a very good AMP!

Comments about Vox Mini5 Rhythm Modeling Guitar Combo Amplifier:

How did they get all this in less than a square foot? Blown away is what I am. My first amp was a Vox and tho this Mini5 isn't my AC30 it is amazingly all Vox vibe. With great amp models (even a real close knockoff of my AC30) and effects that cover it all, and with the fantastic feature of all the beats/rhythm, you have it all. Very powerful 5 watts so with the Power Select options the 0.1 gets used alot in my house. And with it's size I move it wherever I am. I'm calling it my Band In A Box. Also, thanks John Spencer for the pro help when I called to order. Get this amp!

Comments about Vox Mini5 Rhythm Modeling Guitar Combo Amplifier:

This amp is amazing, I grew up on 5 and 10 watts amps in the 60's and I never heard anything like this. I order 2 of them, one for myself and my 17 year son for his birthday. We jam from Alice Cooper, Hendrix Led Zeppelin and other. It bought me back to days in 60's with 2 guitar and a drummer and no bass guitar. But yet it sounded very full. The effect is out of this world. I would use this amp for playing out, just put a microphone in front or lineout from the phone jack. Simple and easy to use. To Musician Friends, thank for the service in getting this amp, I understand why now it was backorder, it was worth the wait.

Wow ! This little amp is so much fun , and the different drums beats are so cool , its like I have my own drummer who always keeps the right beat. I was so surprised at the nice sounds I could get out of my guitar. It is winter now and I can't wait to take it to a picnic !! I putt it on 1 watt and its plenty of volume for the house. The 5 watt is crazy loud for this little amp .I think I got my $s worth on this one .
