OVERVIEW

Unique tonal signature

There are some things that go together well. Cookies and milk, Lennon and McCartney, and salt and pepper. Another one of those ideal pairings is octave and fuzz. This is an octave fuzz overflowing with vintage character, utilizing specially selected diodes. It covers not only a range of one octave up, but also two octaves down. You can choose three types of octave settings: +1 or, -1 and -2, or all upward and downward octaves to obtain thick vintage fuzz sounds. In addition, there's a tone control for +1 octave and a volume control for -2 octave. Since the Trike Fuzz operates the downward octave circuits in series and combines them in parallel with the upward octave at the end, you can create a diverse range of sounds that cannot be obtained with existing octave fuzz units.

FEATURES
  • Discrete circuitry - the result of a relentless design philosophy
  • True-bypass design provides tonal confidence even when the effect is off
  • Tough die-cast body that stands up to the rigors of the road
  • A versatile octave fuzz that gives you up to three octaves at once
  • Three different octave modes
  • Uses a special diode with a response similar to a germanium diode

Tone Garage captures the pure essence of analog in these compact effect units. Order yours today.

An awesome Octave/Fuzz pedal, with low, ,"both", and hi settings on a toggle, tone, gain, and level knob controls you have a wide range of effects that can be attained at the turn of a knob,or at the flip of a switch. The "both" setting is my favorite, it has an organ type sound, with the low end growl sought out in most Octave pedals. Leslie West, Rival Sons, and many more have used these types of effects affectively, but this one is the Holy Grail of Octave pedals in my opinion. The added Fuzz effect is the perfect compliment to the octave, just what the Dr ordered. Try one today.

Humbuckers to a H&K Tube Head and Boogie Cabinet. I like distortion and octaves as something I can turn on and off. On the unit I had, the distortion sounded too harsh/trashy/literally "slit spker"ish particularly on the low end and no way to tune that part out. Exchanged for a T Rex which is more focus on the octaves which will work well with the head's tube distortion.

Comments about Vox Tone Garage Trike Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal:

Is it just my pedal or is the lower octave setting, lower in volume than the higher setting?
There's a noticeable volume difference between the two setting. I don't like that.
I do like the overall sound of the pedal, specifically the intensity. Just wonder though if other people notice the same volume difference between the settings.
Buy it if you're into Harsh Noise or Industrial Punk type stuff and you want it raw!

Interesting, but not something I could use more that once.

Comments about Vox Tone Garage Trike Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal:

Its Interesting, but not something I could use more that once or twice. Not what you are looking for if you want a traditional fuzz sound. Even without the octaves engaged it doesn't sound like a traditional fuzz. The octaves don't seem to blend well together and sound low quality. I played with it for a week trying to come up with a tone that sounded good or any reason to justify keeping it. In the end I just returned it.

Comments about Vox Tone Garage Trike Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal:

this is not your average fuzz pedal. if you want something predictable look somewhere else. this is a experimental tone machine heaven. some people complain about noise and the sound breaking up. thats why i love it!. you can really tone in the perfect tone with some patience. sounds very different with different guitars/picks.. i loved it with single coils most. now a part of my sound

Comments about Vox Tone Garage Trike Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal:

I was wanting an octave fuzz to get those awesome Hendrix tones, this was not it.

The Sound:
The octave functions overwhelm the guitar. Sub octave seems to be intermittent giving a disorienting sound. The upper octave seems to work, but it would be nice if you could control the level, as the tone is useless. Using it as just a fuzz is ok but a standard Fuzz Face will sound better (and be cheaper).
The Look:
This pedal looks cool having the illuminated pseudo tube showing the pcb. however it is a bit large and the knobs are small and tightly spaced. Also it uses a non clicking switch, which I like but some may not.

Overall it is an interesting pedal but it could be better. Go ahead and try it out, but I do not recommend buying one unless it is half price.

Comments about Vox Tone Garage Trike Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal:

Very well made pedal. The on/off foot-switch is the most quiet of any of the pedals I own. I like the mode which uses both the one octave low and two octaves high together. The high quality is immediately noticeable. The tone is very classy.

    Harsh Artificial Tones/Sloppy Tracking

Comments about Vox Tone Garage Trike Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal:

I bought this pedal after watching the video link posted below. I was disappointed with the tones that I got at my house. At first it was fun and then it became a hassle and there was a rough adjustment period. Giving it the benefit of the doubt I kept at it, yet remained dissatisfied. The pedal made chords into noise and when used to play leads the notes were sloppily tracked/ delayed. This effect also completely overpowered the tone and feel of the guitar which created animosity between the pedal and I.

Comments about Vox Tone Garage Trike Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal:

I've played numerous fuzz pedals from a vintage 70's maestro fuzz-tain to a homemade no name. I'm an admitted pedal junky, have more than I can use, and fuzz is my fave. This is the worst fuzz pedal I've played. Poor tone, poor tone control, and some unusable settings. You will be better served buying a used stock DS-1 and having it modded. This pedal is neither studio nor stage worthy. I'm out the $$ I had to spend to ship it back but I guess I'll consider myself lucky I'm not stuck with it.

Comments about Vox Tone Garage Trike Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal:

This unit is VERY good in all aspects of quality and performance...BUT has one flaw by selection....This being the lower octave setting is very bad in tonal use for the fuzz. Upper setting is very good fuzz. Lower setting is FIZZ! Designers should have caught this at start. However with settings set right after experimenting with adjusts (which are there) you can have a winner here with 60's fuzztone effects, which I looked hard for and could not get IN THE 60's. The Ventures had a lock on this sound and I had to wait 55 yrs to get it! Hope this helps any and all!

Comments about Vox Tone Garage Trike Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal:

This is just a fun pedal to play. Plug in & switch your guitar to the neck pickup. Step on the Trike & just start playing.
Like many other fuzz pedals the best stuff happens above the 12th fret. Before you know it hours have gone by & you've written several new riffs.
Some reviewers have commented about problems with noise or tracking with the sub-octave...I personally have not experienced any issues at all.
