This "wah" is exceptional in it's own right for it is the creator of the true long liveing mid range sweeping sound that is now considered logically, as its sound,"wah." Thats beside the point, this pedal is one of the better constructed pedals I've ever had to stomp on or calmley fluctuate to gain that beautiful sound I wished for. This is one of the more credited "wahs" for the meer fact that it was the first of it own kind which turned Jimi Hendrix on enough to right an entire intro ("Voodoo Chile") primarily based on this "wah," The true reason I bought this "wah" over others is not due to its reputaion but the fact that it has the sweeter sweep of all the "wahs" I tested. This came as kind of a last choice but when I heard that sound I couldn't dare turn away from such an amazing sound so I decided upon this pedal for that meer fact. It was not quite as expensive as the competion but was a run of mill price for a "wah" pedal. It is a have stated before it is astounding sounding and for me it was the only "wah" available to me... tone wise that is. The quality is exceptional and I do trust the construction to last quite a lifetime of sound. Overall it is fantastic to play and hear I do suggest it to those who want a "wah" pedal.

I recieved this pedal as a present for christmas just recently, and i was very eager to try it out. I plugged it in and tried it to find that this thing didn't quite satisfy my appetite. The pedal sounds terrible, you could actually hear the pedal change tone at certain parts of the swipe, and no tone control!? Also it wouldn't work up on the high fret board (about frets 15-24), also, it died on me twice in 2 days, and I had to fix it already. So I sent it back today in exchange for a WD7 wah-wah. Save your money, the time, and the frustration.

Comments about Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal:

This is one of the best wah pedals ever. It is very user-friendly and sounds great with any guitar. The only issue I've had with it is that sometimes the cable may get jarred out of place, creating loud feedback. Aside from that, this pedal is a great buy for any guitarist who wants to add a quality wah sound to his/her playing.

Comments about Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal:

I just got this pedal. Its great can sound just like Page and Hendrix. Sometimes it even makes me feel like Page and Hendrix and other great guitarest when I play along with there music. I need to give it more bass the treble is sratchy and loud. I put 9 for features because it only has a on and off switch. Worth ever penny even though i didn't buy it from Musicians Friend.

Comments about Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal:

This is the greatest wah-wah pedal I have ever tried and I've tried a few different kinds. It's got such a nice tone. The wah tone is so beautiful. It's unbelievable. It would be nice if it had an AC adapter but hey, I'm not complaining. This pedal works for any kind of music you can think of, but best for classic rock and the blues. All the classic artists have used it and we all love their tone. Now stop reading and buy this.

Great pedal... but sometimes faulty for me...

Comments about Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal:

Yesterday, I bought this pedal at Guitar Center at a sale. At first, I hooked it up into my friends amp because we went to his house afterwards with my DOD Supra Distortion. The Vox kept intercepting a spanish radio station. I went home and tried it on my amp, and at first, I sounded great, but after a while, it intercepted the radio station again. I can't figure out why it does it, but it does. Thanks

This thing is great. It nails the "white room" sound completely.I'm pretty sure Ron Asheton from the Stooges had this wah. This is a great effect whether your using it for wah-wah action or getting more boost to your leads.I've droped this a couple of times and it's still unscathed.

Comments about Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal:

Playing guitar with a wah is such great fun. But plugging in your guitar into this baby is more than just fun it's an experience. The sound that an amp can emit with the Vox wah pedal surpasses any other and there's something about this pedal that makes it far more comfortable to use than other competitors. A great product of great quality.

Comments about Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal:

I got surprised with this baby as a Christmas gift, and as soon as I plugged in I fell in love. Has that great Hendrix/Clapton/Gilmore tone. At first I didn't like how it sounded with my distortion box, but then I put the wah ahead of the distortion in the effect chain, and it sounded great. I like this one a LOT more than my old Rouge wah wah, or even any of the Dunlop Crybabys. Sometimes I wish it had a wider sweeping range, but still, a great wah pedal!!!

great fot that Jimi sound

By 420tommy420

Comments about Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal:

I got the v847 wah about a month ago and I am satisfied with it. I get a classic 60's sound with it plugged into my strat. It has a good sweep range and is built very well. The reason I give it a 7 on features is that it doesnt have true-bypass. That means that when the pedal isn't activated it sucks the depth out of your tone. This is very noticeable. This pedal is best used in an effects loop to avoid this. I discovered a that when you plug your guitar in the "out" jack and your amp in the "in" jack that it makes a cool distortion effect. All in all, I am happy with this purchase. I would reccomend it to anybody seeking a vintage wah.

Comments about Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal:

I bought the V847 like half a year ago, and it's no doubt the best wah I've ever used. It also has the highest quality out of the rest. But the best part about it is that it's easy to duplicate the sound of many guitar legends, including Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. The sweep isn't extremely high, but it sounds better than any other wah with a bigger sweep. If you love effects, buy this thing!

Comments about Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal:

It's more for funk than for Hendrix. I still do plenty of solo work on this thing, but it's really just not the best for replicating Jimi's sound. And it's true, it really does rip the bottom end out of your sound. I guess you can just turn the treble down, but that's just an inconvenience. I've heard of people changing the pots inside their pedals to get different sounds. I want to find out what potentiometer Jimi used to modify his wah, because I really want my bottom end to stick around. A Strat just ain't a Strat without the thick mids.I also suggest you get a noise-killer. I use a Squier Strat with my Marshall MG100DFX and I get no hum if it's just these two. Maybe it's just the extra cable I bought with this thing, but I get an annoying hum out of this thing when it's in the toe-down position.

Comments about Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal:

This wah is without a doubt the best one out there. You get the classic Jimi Hendrix sound as well as Jimmy Page. Dunlop should have been sued for using Jimi's name, cus Hendrix didnt even use a Dunlop. But this wah is AMAZING! The only flaw is that there is no way of charging it, which makes it annoying. Anyway, still the best wah!

Comments about Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal:

I saw hendrix use this in one of his dvds, and knew i was getten' a vox wa. Sounds nice if you place your overdrive before it. I found myself playing some funky riffs through my deville. Very solid construction, kinda makes you want to play it. It doesn't come with a outlet for an adapter thou I dont use em. Other than that its perfect.

Great wah for vintage tones only

By Nor_Cal_Animal

Comments about Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal:

This really is one of the best wah wahs out there. I've played pretty much every other kind of wah and have yet to find something that has a clean tone like this. But that is also somewhat of a down side, this is only good for clean tones. If play with tons of distortion this loses its "wah" effect and ends up acting more like a tone nob. Also I've noticed vox wahs aren't voiced as dramtically as others so if you're looking for a very dramatic wah sound like Satch or Kirk Hammett you should look elsewhere, but if you want a vintage sound like Hendrix or Cream era Clapton then this is what you want. Overall its a great effect you cant beat its durability and with the right amp settings this is perfect...The only reason I gave it 7 stars for features is because its features are limited. It doesnt have any adjustment nobs and cant be run off a AC adaptor. But again overall is still a great buy!

Out of this world wah, but..

By Hess

Comments about Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal:

This wah could be the best out there right now, I put this puppy down with a dunlop crybaby and Ibanez Demon wah and the vox kicked them both to the curve. I use a ESP KH-2 neck-thru and a 5150 peavey amp and I get some of the most fantastic wah sounds, My ONLY complant is that there is no AC power input, Now it doesn't go through a battery that fast if you unplug it when not in use, But I would much rather be able to plug my boss dc-brick into it, And not worry about if the sound is starting to fade or not. Overall, This wah-wah is the best sounding, Just stock up on 9volt bats and enjoy the greatest wah sounds you will hear. Good day.

Comments about Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal:

I have purchased the Vox V847 and found it to be most excellent for the value. Very durable and produces great tones on both high and low ends. Does have a bit hissing sometimes but it could just be the cables I'm using....other than that this thing rocks!

Vox

Comments about Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal:

This is a great pedal. I took home and tried out this and the original crybaby wah, and got this one. The transition is smooth, it's sturdy, and it looks nice. I found it a bit expensive but I don't think you would need to replace it in the near future even with heavy use. The drawbacks are it does not have an option for an adapter, and once in a while my chord gets caught inside the pedal. The rubber stopper fell off in the back once but that was easily fixed. The battery replacement is simple and I think this is a great wah, especially for first timers.
