This "wah" is exceptional in it's own right for it is the creator of the true long liveing mid range sweeping sound that is now considered logically, as its sound,"wah." Thats beside the point, this pedal is one of the better constructed pedals I've ever had to stomp on or calmley fluctuate to gain that beautiful sound I wished for. This is one of the more credited "wahs" for the meer fact that it was the first of it own kind which turned Jimi Hendrix on enough to right an entire intro ("Voodoo Chile") primarily based on this "wah," The true reason I bought this "wah" over others is not due to its reputaion but the fact that it has the sweeter sweep of all the "wahs" I tested. This came as kind of a last choice but when I heard that sound I couldn't dare turn away from such an amazing sound so I decided upon this pedal for that meer fact. It was not quite as expensive as the competion but was a run of mill price for a "wah" pedal. It is a have stated before it is astounding sounding and for me it was the only "wah" available to me... tone wise that is. The quality is exceptional and I do trust the construction to last quite a lifetime of sound. Overall it is fantastic to play and hear I do suggest it to those who want a "wah" pedal.

I recieved this pedal as a present for christmas just recently, and i was very eager to try it out. I plugged it in and tried it to find that this thing didn't quite satisfy my appetite. The pedal sounds terrible, you could actually hear the pedal change tone at certain parts of the swipe, and no tone control!? Also it wouldn't work up on the high fret board (about frets 15-24), also, it died on me twice in 2 days, and I had to fix it already. So I sent it back today in exchange for a WD7 wah-wah. Save your money, the time, and the frustration.

i am very disappointed with this product.i bought one in early july. after it came, little less than a month later it randomly stopped working. I was sent a replacement pedal, which worked for about 2 months, then stopped working as well. I didnt do anything to it I wasnt supposed to, it just stopped.

Comments about Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal:

The Vox wahwah pedal is pretty much just a basic wahwah pedal. I DO NOT mean that in a bad way. it has a great sound, a great roar when you push down on it, and you really cant go wrong.People say that you cant replicate jimi's sound on thin thing. Well obviously you cant if you just plug it into a 30 watt solid state amplifier. you gotta have the equipment to go with it. And Being Jimi Hendrix qould help...overall, a really great wah wah pedal for those who wanna have fun with their sound, and for those who want their sound to be spectacular.

Nice Wah-wah-Authentic 1960's Clapton wah tone!

Comments about Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal:

This is actual wah-wah pedal that I own (I don't know the difference between the V847A and this one). If you read my review for the V847A, this what I was referring to. I love this pedal and have started using it again ever since I had the jack replaced (I was told jacks that jacks often need to be replaced). Again, this pedal is better for the Clapton/Cream songs. Another plus that I have noticed is that this wah-wah is better for arpegiated parts (like in White Room). Due to its nasal tone, this wah makes it easier to hear arpegiated notes which can be hard to hear with the Dunlop Classic wah (w/Fasel inductor). Both of the mentioned wah-wahs are great and this wah is very fun to play.

Comments about Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal:

I love the rich, "Cream"-y tones. I got rid of my crybaby, which sounded so cheap and synthetic compared to the vox. I got my guitar repair guy to install an ac adapter. Now it is all that I need. I like playing with it all the way down. Gives a kind of Peter Green effect. Buy it if you are in the market. Enjoy!

        This thing's amazing!

Comments about Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal:

I bought the V847 like half a year ago, and it's no doubt the best wah I've ever used. It also has the highest quality out of the rest. But the best part about it is that it's easy to duplicate the sound of many guitar legends, including Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. The sweep isn't extremely high, but it sounds better than any other wah with a bigger sweep. If you love effects, buy this thing!

        great fot that Jimi sound

Comments about Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal:

I got the v847 wah about a month ago and I am satisfied with it. I get a classic 60's sound with it plugged into my strat. It has a good sweep range and is built very well. The reason I give it a 7 on features is that it doesnt have true-bypass. That means that when the pedal isn't activated it sucks the depth out of your tone. This is very noticeable. This pedal is best used in an effects loop to avoid this. I discovered a that when you plug your guitar in the "out" jack and your amp in the "in" jack that it makes a cool distortion effect. All in all, I am happy with this purchase. I would reccomend it to anybody seeking a vintage wah.

        Not terrible

Comments about Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal:

It's more for funk than for Hendrix. I still do plenty of solo work on this thing, but it's really just not the best for replicating Jimi's sound. And it's true, it really does rip the bottom end out of your sound. I guess you can just turn the treble down, but that's just an inconvenience. I've heard of people changing the pots inside their pedals to get different sounds. I want to find out what potentiometer Jimi used to modify his wah, because I really want my bottom end to stick around. A Strat just ain't a Strat without the thick mids.I also suggest you get a noise-killer. I use a Squier Strat with my Marshall MG100DFX and I get no hum if it's just these two. Maybe it's just the extra cable I bought with this thing, but I get an annoying hum out of this thing when it's in the toe-down position.
