OVERVIEW

Amazing models, stellar tube tone, and Neodog speaker.

Long known for excellence in amplifiers, Vox once again steps forward with their new Vox AD60VTX NeoDog 1x12 Combo Amp. In creating the Valvetronix modeling amps, their goal was clear: design a versatile amp line that sounds and feels great. Marrying the tube tone that made Vox famous with breakthrough digital modeling technology from Korg results in a completely new kind of modeling amp - one that not only re-creates the sound, but actually changes itself to model each and every power amp on its list. And what a list! Vox (naturally), Fender, Marshall, Boogie, and more. Built-in pedal effects and digital ambient effects. A 12" neodymium NeoDog speaker combined with a closed-back cab produces pounding punch with crystalline clarity.

The AD-60 VTX is an intersting amp. Had both AC-30 and VOX Base amps in the past and had reliability problems but their sound off set the quality issues( bad soldier points)Have had the AD 60 for two years and it still suprises me with it's versatility.AC 30 sound is right on and the variable power setting on the back expands its potential. at 60 watts is's bright and hot...at 30 watts is becomes warmer and more blues sounding. At 15 watts it's the best for Jazz. The array of effects and amp modeling allows me to play a FENDER twin with TREM, reverb and Echo which is very cool at 60 watts setting.Great Buy..only problem is 1/4 inch female input socket on the front and headphone connector on the back..if you use a std plug be sure you make full insetion or you will loose connectivity... if you use a stereo headphone on the back it will not work..all 1/4 inch female connectors are mono and are a bit loose.

I bought the Vox Valvetronix AD60VTX 60w 1X12 Guitar Combo Amp from GC a few months ago. It has very good o/d tones, very easy to program, (if you buy one, the vc-12 foot controller is a must. The clean tones are limited to boutique only and even at that, not very good. I am a retired pro player that loves to play everything from Mozart to Vai. Having owned numerous amps/guitars from boogies to usa fenders/strats, teles, ibanez', gibsons...all pro models... all sold! I thought this amp would fit my needs, I do not wish to own 6 amps, 22 guitars and 2 four 4' racks of effects. So, short story long... due to poor quality control, I have returned this amp 3 times in 2 months! Bad leds, speaker box/chassis rattles, blown speaker right out box! I have never used the amp past 15W power amp setting. I will never buy another Vox amp, (yeah, I know the vintage english stuff sounds great) not for the sound, but 3 amps in 2 months in my living room! I'm going back to boogie and boss.

Sweet amp...but average quality

By Geetarman64

from FL

I must say...when I played this amp at the shop I was somewhat impressed. I didn't really get it for all the effects since I already have a pedal train though the effects are very good for a modeling amp). But the range of clean tones are endless. Not to mention the speaker is quite capable of cranking out everything your little heart desires. Here comes the bad. No matter how well I took care of this amp, it started cutting out on me within 3 months of owning it. After taking it apart to fix it, I discovered the quality was lacking. That being said, I wound never buy this amp again if mine were stolen or lost. In fact, I wish it was stolen or lost. Please just spend the extra money on a real tube amp. Sure, you might spend a hundred dollars more but the quality is actually there...minus the headache.

Great Amp!

By Fenderman234

from Kansas City, MO

This amp is killer, its one of the best sounding amps I have played on in a long time. Although I am more of a Fender fan I think this amp stomps all over all the fender amps I have played on the sounds and effects are amazing. If you want amp that kicks I would get this vox...cant say enough good things about it.

Great amp

By Paul-zhc5z

from Union, KY

Excellent amp. All kinds of awesome sounds in a single package. Ihave had no troubles at all with reliability. I use it in church a couple of times a month and regularly at home. I have the VC-12 footswitch also - can't see using the amp live without it. Can't beat this amp for the money. From what I've heard, the reliability of the VTX series is much better than their VT predecessor.

Vox AD60VTX What an inspirational Piece of work!

By 62'Stratoplayer

from Sarasota, FL

I've played em' all In the 60's and throughout my musical career. I first used an Ampeg amp with a 12 and my 62 Strat, then Fender Super Reverb amp with 4 tens, Then a Fender Twin with 2 12's a Vox AC30 then progressed to a 100 watt Marshall stack with 8 10's, I also had an Orange amp, and a Mesa Boogie, As I got older Amps seemed to get to be too heavy to haul around. I played the Vox AD60VTX and bought it. As I was running through the stock settings, listening to the tone quality, and punch it produced, I realized I just repurchased all of the amps I've played during my career in one relatively light weight amp, 43 pounds. I'm still playing the same ol' Stratocaster with it, and can't seem to put it down for a minute. This amp will inspire you too! Just play one and you'll know what I mean.

wowza!

By War!

I just got this amp used only a few days ago. I've been playing around with everything, and I don't even know what to say. It came with the VC-4 footcontroller, and I must say, thats all I need. I would use the VC-12 only for recording. Using something that big in a show could lead to some headaches. Anyways, every amp model on hear is flawless. The AC30, sounds like an AC30, I've played many other Vox amps, and this one goes right up with the others. With the warmth of a real tube inside, you can't go wrong.

very nice all in one

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

If you want tube sound and the flexibilty in modeling, this is the amp. I have been a line6 freak for the last 5 years, owning a variax, vetta, podxt live, etc. THe AD60VTX really gives you the warmth that other modelers are missing. I gig alot and though I own many amps (pre CBS Fender super and deluxe reverb among others), this is the best/easiest all in one rig I have. The VC12 foot controller is a must. I haven't had the reliablity issues others have metioned *(Lucky?).Great value for $$$.

Vox AD60VT

By Jon-1Qlhr

from England

I've owned this amp for a couple of years now. Total reliability. We play a very wide range of music, and this amp has the tone and the control needed to soar above the mix or add quiet subtlety: country, rock, blues, jazz, etc. Only problem is that the VC-4 does not seem to offer as much flexibilty as the VC-12 foot-controller, which I may buy, expanding range of voices from 32 to 128. I would strongly recommend. The recently purchased (tube) Fender Hot-Rod Deluxe has wonderful sound but has had repeated faults. The Vox seems more reliable, and with all the on-board efx and rich amp tone, and the 1 watt-60 watt output facility, it's great for rehearsals & gigs of all sizes, plus line out offers easy sound reinforcement through PA.

So many sounds...

By Crunchynick17

from Tampa, FL

You can get so many sounds out of this thing. The quality of the models are great, from clean to metal, you can satify any style of music. The effects are good enough. The only thing I need to get is the footswitch. With such a high price its kinda a shame you need to go buy another piece of nearly required equipment to go along with it. Outside of that awesome amp!
