I've had this cab for about 3 or 4 years and it's bulit like a tank. I don't take care of my equipment as well as I should but there's no hurting this thing. Of course the tolex is practecly gone, but the cab itself has not a dint on it. You can play anything with it. I was runing a Vox Valvetronix AD120H head(which is the 2nd best head money can buy)till it blew up on me. Now Im running a Mesa Tripel Rec.(which is the best head money can buy) through it, and they both sounded killer. I could probebly run a Marshall MG(which is the worst head money can buy) head and it would still sound good. Just as good as any Marshall or Mesa cab. I'm going to change the speakers in mine soon, not because there's anything wrong with them, cause there isn't, but I'm running a 150 watt tube head into a 120 cab and that can't be good for eather, so some Mesa Black Shadows are going in it soon.
I have had this cab for about 3 months and it is paired with the Vox AD100VTH Head. At low volumes this amp sounds great, the low end is nice and deep and the treble can really shine through. When I crank it up past 50 watts it starts to mud up. I am rather disappointed in it. The cab is paired with 4, 12' inch vox "specially voiced speakers, and they are only rated for 30watts each. If this cab was paired with come celestions it would sing wonderfully! Also, with it being a straight cab, its hard to hear the trebles and you hear more of a bass tone. If you have a low budget, go for it. If you have the money, go upgrade to the Vox Custom Classic V412BN 120W 4x12 cab (its a much better buy).
This is a great cab for the very low price. The lows sing on this amp and it works great for just about any genre of music that I have dealt with. My only complaint is the lack of highs. I enjoy a rich tone so I have no complaints in that area. The only heads I have paired with it are a Peavey XXX and Marshall head. Both of which sounded great.Best cab in it's price range.
I picked up this cabinet as the companion to the VOX AD100VTH head. This cabinet is shorter than a standard Marshall cab, but it does seem to be deeper than a standard guitar cab. It seems to be shaped more like a bass cabinet. I think this gives it a much deeper sound which is amazing. When paired with the AD100VTH head this thing can scream with plenty of low end. The clean tones are deep and warm and it's very classy and original to view. Bottom line is that you can't go wrong with cabinet.
A great cab, especially for the money. Clear and well voiced, it does a great job paired to the matching head, the Vox AD100VTH, and looks sharp as hell too. Only gripe is the lack of a slant on it, making it hard to get into small cars due to boxiness. Besides that, I love it. Go for the vox half stack.
