This amp is not for beginners, or people that expect to be able to just plug in and have it sound
the way they want. You'll probably have to work with it somewhat to get what your looking for. This amp has a huge pallet of sounds available, once you put a little effort into it you'll be able to utilize it to its full potential and reap the sonic benefits. TRUST ME... this amp has what you want, ya just gotta find it.
I've had this amp for several months now, and through patience and perserverance I've been able
to settle on eight fantastic presets via the VFS5 footswitch, which is an absolute necessity if you intend to play live with it. When I first plugged into the amp (with a Les Paul double-cut), the factory presets sounded very bassy and somewhat muffled. I then tried a Strat, and even with the single-coil
pick-ups it was still too bassy. Fortunately, creating your own presets or variables of the factory pre-sets is quite simple once you spend a little time with learning how the amp works. Once I reset the EQ levels and various effects to my liking, this amp sounds really good. You want Stones kind of dirty rock, its in there. Dave Gilmour sounds, no problem. I've even got a solo preset that gives you harmonic feedback that just sings with the amps volume just a little more than bedroom level. Sweet.
This amp has dang near EVERYTHING you could ever need... amps, modulation effects, stomp boxes, delays and three different types of reverb and my personal favorites, compression and noise reduction. And a tuner. Its like the Swiss Army Knife of amps.
For some reason the folks at Vox decided not to put metal corner protectors on this amp, and I've already taken a chunk of the tolex off of one of them. No matter... I'll be a little more cautious in the future.
All the amp models and effects work perfectly, no glitches or problems.
Considering all you get in a fairly light combo with 120 watts available, this amp is an exceptional value.

I waited and waited and waited for this amp to arrive. I fell in love with its features, simplicity, tone and portability. Then the problems ensued. I started noticing a hum from the amp. I tried everything and I mean everything to reduce hum. The sound boot guys were like...Dude you amp is making a bad hum. I gave it every chance and struggled to RMA it back. I called Vox and they said "All tube amps hum" wrong! I play next to a guy with a Vox (different model) and no hum! This amp is brilliant in design, but sucks in quality. I truly wish that Vox would have panned out better for me. I loved the rich tones I got, but at the expense of punishing others.

Comments about Vox Valvetronix VT80+ 80W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:
I bought this amp a week ago with a nice bonus from work. I've recently been getting back into my music and playing live. I gotta say, it's worth every penny I paid for it. If you can't find a sound you like for any genre of music you want to play from acoustic to blues to rock to metal, you're clearly not trying hard enough. This amp does take some getting used to, in regards to setting the channels the way you want and utilizing the different features. But, just read the manual and it works you through using it step by step. Also the foot switch is a must for playing live, however also very well worth the extra charge. However, I've got 8 different channels that provide a good tone for any occasion. And the fact that it has a tube preamp gives it tube sound on a solid state budget. I couldn't be happier. This is the future of solid state amps right here.

Comments about Vox Valvetronix VT80+ 80W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:
DO NOT listen to any of the bad reveiws, this amp does have what you want and much more. It took me 10 consecutie hours, but I was able to get a fantastic metal sound and a beautiful warm clean sound. This amp sounds like an all tube amp, even though it is not. It is loud as HELL. My walls were vibrating when I had the volume and master very low, but this amp is still very good for bedroom uses. It can take a beating and is not very portable, but is good enough if you need it. I would reccomend this over ANY combo amp that I have ever tried, including the Roland Cube 80XL
Comments about Vox Valvetronix VT80+ 80W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:
It has tons of potential,,,,,,,,and that's where it ends.
Great effects, tap tempo, on board tuner, and great tones,,,,when it works.
This was my second VT80+ in a year. I bought one earlier in the year but returned it because of an annoying " ending hiss" in the clean setting. This one I just bought I also returned. The volume started cutting out intermittently the first day,,,,,the second day it had lost power completely.
If you can get one that works it's got some great tones, some of the best I've heard built into an amp. I wish the two I bought would have stood up.

Comments about Vox Valvetronix VT80+ 80W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:
Great for effects and loudness, but not tone!
I wanted this amp to work for me. I work in a guitar/amp store and bought this. I thought I did some good research. Effects and loudness was what I was looking for. But I didn't stop to think about tone. I figured a pretube amp should have great tone and response. But honestly I found this amp sounding really fake. I tried recording with it and it just sounds too digital, like plugging your guitar straight into the computer and out through some speakers. Even a clean setting sounded fake. I'm trying to sell it now and get a MustangIII. It's cheaper, just as loud and a bunch of effects. It's a solid state amp, but it sounds a lot better than the vox. Sorry Vox!
Comments about Vox Valvetronix VT80+ 80W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:
Overall I would recommend this amp to anyone wanting a good combination of tube tone along with digital effects and amp modeling features. Hard to beat at this price point. Nothing can compete with my all tube vintage Fender DeVille but still a great amp! Buy it!
For the price, this amp has a lot of features. The effects are quite good and the amp samples sound good as well.
I just received the amp last week, so durability on the road is "time will tell"
Great Value for this price range!
Comments about Vox Valvetronix VT80+ 80W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:
I had to return a Line 6, 150 watt combo yesterday after only 3 days. I tried this amp, and I was astounded by the clarity, versatility and tone of it. Even though it has the single 12" driver, it has the bottom end that I want. The cleans are so smooth as well. I tend not to think of the warmth of the tone but whether or not it's smooth. I also absolutely love the fact that one can adjust the output wattage. I highly recommend this amp.

Comments about Vox Valvetronix VT80+ 80W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:
Great amp for many sounds at your fingertips. At 399.00 this is an exceptional value. I have a couple of very expensive other amps and this amp still holds up. No, its not a Divided by 13 or other hand-wired masterpiece but, this amp really feels more tube like than other modeling amps. It also not heavy. The many tones and variations are very musical and bring to life the sound of many familiar favorites. Having only 8 presets falls a little short but there is many tones to choose from to place into those 8 user presets. Buy the foot-switch to go along with this amp. There are other competing modeling amps in the price range, but when i plugged this in it feels like a real tube amp and has that playable quality you expect from a decent amp.
