The latest amp in the Valvetronix evolution with 99 presets, loads of FX, and more.

The convenient and powerful Valvetronix VT80+ combo amp delivers the guitar sounds sought after by discerning guitarists of every style. With a 12AX7 preamp tube, powerful new amp models, and the unique Power Level control, the VT80 Plus is ready to deliver the response and sound every player needs.

    Tube-powered VOX Valve Reactor circuit
Every guitar player seeks the power and playability delivered by a tube amp; the fat drive tone, wide dynamic range, subtle picking nuances, and quick response. After painstaking analysis of guitarists' tastes and preferences, VOX has focused on the importance of the power amp circuit in creating the sonic characteristics long sought from tube amps. The VOX Valve Reactor was developed out of this power amp philosophy. Based on a 12AX7 vacuum tube, the Valve Reactor circuit at the heart of the Valvetronix VT80+ amp perfectly reproduces the operation, subtle nuances, and tonal character of a real tube-powered amp.

More amp models than ever before
The new Valvetronix+ Series boasts an amazing collection of 33 distinct amp models - a new milestone for Valvetronix amplifiers. In addition, the Valvetronix+ represents a giant leap in quality. The preamp EQ features Bass, Middle and Treble controls for precise tone-shaping. Beginning with classic VOX amps such as the AC30, the diverse amp model selection continues to encompass coveted amps from the pages of history, as well as the latest high-gain amps, providing a sound selection that spans the ages. Call up the sound of an old favorite, or experiment with amps you may never have tried - sought-after amps played by your guitar heroes, rare boutique amps, and vintage amps - and pursue unexplored sonic paths.

    25 Diverse, high-quality effects
One of the best features of the VOX Valvetronix VT80+ modeling amp is the ability to combine the built-in effects with the onboard amp models to create a complete and powerful sound. Just as with the effects, the VT80+ makes no compromises when it comes to effects, boasting a level of quality that rivals top standalone units. The broad array of effects is divided into two sections: Pedal effects such as distortion, wah, and compressor; and Modulation/Delay effects such as chorus, flanger, and tape echo. In each section, there are 11 effects to choose from. Featuring easy-to-use settings, you can simultaneously select the effect type and adjust its parameters. In addition, there are three types of Reverb (Room, Spring, and Hall). With the addition of Noise Reduction, up to four different effects can be used at the same time.

    99 Preset programs
The musicians at VOX have put together 99 preset programs for the VT80+, expertly voiced and ready for immediate use. Each of the 33 amp models provides three presets: Basic, Effected, and Song. An Effected preset calls up the correct combination of effect type and setting for a particular style.

Song presets are just like Effected presets; each one is a faithful recreation of the signature sound used by a famous guitarist to perform one of their classic tracks. Of course you're also free to edit any preset - or start from scratch with the manual setting - and save up to eight of your own custom sounds to the User presets.

    Beyond the numbers
One of the greatest advances from previous Valvetronix models is the astounding sense of power generated by the VT80+. The power amp section has the potential to significantly exceed the wattage value indicated by the model name - as indicated by the shaded section of the Power Level knob. The new Valvetronix+ Series also feature a newly re-voiced VOX original design speaker that is sure to amaze you with a powerful sound that you would not expect from a chassis and speaker of this size. These fine Valvetronix+ amplifiers genuinely deliver sonic power that cannot be expressed by mere numbers.

    Seize the power
The sense of drive produced in the tube power stage is what defines the inimitably fat and warm tone that's at the core of a great guitar amp sound. Our tube-driven Valve Reactor circuitry is at the heart of recreating this sound. Volume, Gain, and Master Volume controls provide key levels of controlling your gain to achieve a wealth of clean, overdriven and distorted sounds. In addition, these new Valvetronix+ Series amplifiers feature an altogether unique Power Level control. By lowering the Power Level, it's possible to achieve high levels of gain and distortion at any listening level. And, as was mentioned above, reserve power can also be dialed in using the Power Level control when you really need your amp to scream. The Power Level control allows you to take full advantage of the Valvetronix+ Series potential in any situation.

Convenient and versatile input and output
The headphone out jack can also be used as a direct line output. This output is equipped with the simulated response and character of a speaker cabinet, so you'll enjoy the natural spatial sense of playing through speakers, even when using headphones or when connected to a mixer or recording system. Plug your CD or MP3 player into the AUX input jack and enjoy jamming along with your favorite songs. In addition, the tuning function needed by every guitarist is built in, eliminating the need for a separate tuner.

    Optional VFS5 footswitch operation
Plug in the optional VFS5 footswitch and use your feet to switch programs, turn the reverb and other effects on/off, and control their speed, providing additional options for sonic creativity and live performance power.

    Amp Model List (33)
Three versions of each amp model are provided: Standard, Special, and Custom.

This amp is not for beginners, or people that expect to be able to just plug in and have it sound
the way they want. You'll probably have to work with it somewhat to get what your looking for. This amp has a huge pallet of sounds available, once you put a little effort into it you'll be able to utilize it to its full potential and reap the sonic benefits. TRUST ME... this amp has what you want, ya just gotta find it.
I've had this amp for several months now, and through patience and perserverance I've been able
to settle on eight fantastic presets via the VFS5 footswitch, which is an absolute necessity if you intend to play live with it. When I first plugged into the amp (with a Les Paul double-cut), the factory presets sounded very bassy and somewhat muffled. I then tried a Strat, and even with the single-coil
pick-ups it was still too bassy. Fortunately, creating your own presets or variables of the factory pre-sets is quite simple once you spend a little time with learning how the amp works. Once I reset the EQ levels and various effects to my liking, this amp sounds really good. You want Stones kind of dirty rock, its in there. Dave Gilmour sounds, no problem. I've even got a solo preset that gives you harmonic feedback that just sings with the amps volume just a little more than bedroom level. Sweet.
This amp has dang near EVERYTHING you could ever need... amps, modulation effects, stomp boxes, delays and three different types of reverb and my personal favorites, compression and noise reduction. And a tuner. Its like the Swiss Army Knife of amps.
For some reason the folks at Vox decided not to put metal corner protectors on this amp, and I've already taken a chunk of the tolex off of one of them. No matter... I'll be a little more cautious in the future.
All the amp models and effects work perfectly, no glitches or problems.
Considering all you get in a fairly light combo with 120 watts available, this amp is an exceptional value.

I waited and waited and waited for this amp to arrive. I fell in love with its features, simplicity, tone and portability. Then the problems ensued. I started noticing a hum from the amp. I tried everything and I mean everything to reduce hum. The sound boot guys were like...Dude you amp is making a bad hum. I gave it every chance and struggled to RMA it back. I called Vox and they said "All tube amps hum" wrong! I play next to a guy with a Vox (different model) and no hum! This amp is brilliant in design, but sucks in quality. I truly wish that Vox would have panned out better for me. I loved the rich tones I got, but at the expense of punishing others.

Comments about Vox Valvetronix VT80+ 80W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

This is my first amp (just getting into guitar) and I love it. This sucker is loud!! Having so many different effects on hand is great for a beginner because you don't have to have a bunch of pedals--it's all in there.

I put difficult to use as a con, because it takes time to get the sound(s) you want out of it--but it's not hard to just rip into one of the presets or effects that are already there.

Comments about Vox Valvetronix VT80+ 80W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought this amp a week ago with a nice bonus from work. I've recently been getting back into my music and playing live. I gotta say, it's worth every penny I paid for it. If you can't find a sound you like for any genre of music you want to play from acoustic to blues to rock to metal, you're clearly not trying hard enough. This amp does take some getting used to, in regards to setting the channels the way you want and utilizing the different features. But, just read the manual and it works you through using it step by step. Also the foot switch is a must for playing live, however also very well worth the extra charge. However, I've got 8 different channels that provide a good tone for any occasion. And the fact that it has a tube preamp gives it tube sound on a solid state budget. I couldn't be happier. This is the future of solid state amps right here.

What you have to remember when you buy these type of amps is that you will not need every function and option in them, but if you could make use of at least 5 of the very many, you got your moneys worth.

DO NOT listen to any of the bad reveiws, this amp does have what you want and much more. It took me 10 consecutie hours, but I was able to get a fantastic metal sound and a beautiful warm clean sound. This amp sounds like an all tube amp, even though it is not. It is loud as HELL. My walls were vibrating when I had the volume and master very low, but this amp is still very good for bedroom uses. It can take a beating and is not very portable, but is good enough if you need it. I would reccomend this over ANY combo amp that I have ever tried, including the Roland Cube 80XL

Comments about Vox Valvetronix VT80+ 80W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

It has tons of potential,,,,,,,,and that's where it ends.
Great effects, tap tempo, on board tuner, and great tones,,,,when it works.
This was my second VT80+ in a year. I bought one earlier in the year but returned it because of an annoying " ending hiss" in the clean setting. This one I just bought I also returned. The volume started cutting out intermittently the first day,,,,,the second day it had lost power completely.
If you can get one that works it's got some great tones, some of the best I've heard built into an amp. I wish the two I bought would have stood up.

Comments about Vox Valvetronix VT80+ 80W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Great for effects and loudness, but not tone!
I wanted this amp to work for me. I work in a guitar/amp store and bought this. I thought I did some good research. Effects and loudness was what I was looking for. But I didn't stop to think about tone. I figured a pretube amp should have great tone and response. But honestly I found this amp sounding really fake. I tried recording with it and it just sounds too digital, like plugging your guitar straight into the computer and out through some speakers. Even a clean setting sounded fake. I'm trying to sell it now and get a MustangIII. It's cheaper, just as loud and a bunch of effects. It's a solid state amp, but it sounds a lot better than the vox. Sorry Vox!

Overall I would recommend this amp to anyone wanting a good combination of tube tone along with digital effects and amp modeling features. Hard to beat at this price point. Nothing can compete with my all tube vintage Fender DeVille but still a great amp! Buy it!
For the price, this amp has a lot of features. The effects are quite good and the amp samples sound good as well.
I just received the amp last week, so durability on the road is "time will tell"
Great Value for this price range!

I had to return a Line 6, 150 watt combo yesterday after only 3 days. I tried this amp, and I was astounded by the clarity, versatility and tone of it. Even though it has the single 12" driver, it has the bottom end that I want. The cleans are so smooth as well. I tend not to think of the warmth of the tone but whether or not it's smooth. I also absolutely love the fact that one can adjust the output wattage. I highly recommend this amp.
