- Easy To Dial Up Good Tone
- Loud For Small Amp
It has a great clean sound, great overdrive sound, much like a Vox or small Fender, and a great higher gain overdrive/lead sound.
Its fairly loud for a small amp. You may have to mic it if playing with a full band. I have not yet tried it with a full band, or with an external cab.
(BTW, Its 2013, I bought my VR15 used. I feel that these amps for the most part are well made, since I got a used one that runs great a few years after they were discontinued.)
- Was this a gift?:
Sounds like a Vox but my god, this is really cheap contruction! I wondered why I couldn't find any reviews. The amp really sounds great but how long will it last? The plug inserts are so cheesy, that there is no clip into place sound. I'm still deciding whether to keep it. It is a great sounding practice amp, but is this really enough with all the inexpensive competition out there? Sure, it's not going to be used for anything more than a back room toy, but I do expect my toys to last!
I've been playing for over 35 years and find this to be one of the most versitle amps. Excellent clean channel, very nice overdrive, the soundsthat I've been looking for easily dialed in. (not always achievable on other amps) Don't let the size fool you, this little sucker gets loud.
I bought this amp for my son who is just starting to play, but after playing it for just 2 days I sold my Marshall Valve State and bought the 30 watt version for myself. This amp combined with my Gibson Explorer screams out the best tone I have ever heard and I have been playing for 25 years! This thing is truly a diamond in the rough and I hope word doesn't get out or they will start charging what it is worth. No joke, you HAVE to get one of these monsters!
This amp is a great small practice amp that resembles the classic sounds of the VOX AC30. The amp provides a great clean sound that can be used with offboard effects while still containing an excellent overdrive effect. All in all I was very impressed for this amp and it definitley rivals my larger AC30s. Great Buy!
Wow, for the money spent, probably one of the best amplifiers, dollar for dollar. Great clean, great crunch, great overdrive, can you tell I LOVE this little amp? It doesn't sound so littleafter plugging it into my Mesa Recto cabinet, so I have to be carful not to offend it. And an optional footswitch?!
It came with an Epiphone Custom Les Paul. Been playing accoustic since the 60's. First electric in the stable. I'm OK with it. Got the foot swicth but like the clean channel. Chinese VOX, Chinese Les Paul. I just said thank you, Baby. Would like to here what others have to say about the amp and the axe.
