Wampler

A versatile and compact overdrive that delivers smooth creaminess with just enough crunch.

When the guys at Wampler created the circuit that would eventually become the Euphoria, they were working on creating a pedal that would go from clean tones to distorted tones while adding a bit of warmth. They wanted something that would be dynamic, have a great sounding “gritty” tone to it yet be able to respond to the volume knob like a tube amp.

The Euphoria is Wampler's take on that elusive tone and feel made famous by Dumble Amplifiers - smooth creaminess yet crunchy when you need it to be, yet the tonality is much more transparent than other “dumble sounding" pedals. Very responsive tone controls that interact with the pedal - they don't just “color” the sound. The controls actually affect the response and feel of the pedal, just like a great tube amp.

If you love the sound of your clean tone, and just wish you could have more “hair” on the note... a little bit of grit without any change in tonality, the Euphoria will do that with ease. PLUS it's extremely flexible... with the toggle switch in the down position you'll get a hint of fuzz along with the overdrive, it's reminiscent of the tones that "Eric Johnson" may use. With the toggle in the up position the tonality is super smooth, creamy yet crunchy when you dig into the strings.

This is reminiscent to the famous “Dumble” tone, though it's really much, much more than that. In the center position, the toggle will give you tons of crunch, or roll the gain back a bit and push the volume up and you have a superior clean boost with a 2 band EQ that's extremely transparent, but variable so you can actually turn it into an awesome treble booster just by cranking up the treble and turning the bass down.

Comments about Wampler Euphoria Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal:

I was just at the winter NAMM show last month and stopped by Wampler's booth. Brian personnaly demoed this pedal for me and I was sold! It was the tone I was in search of. It is truely a transparrent overdrive. I run this in front of my 65' Deluxe reverb & my 1969 Super reverb and it soounds great! If your in to playing blues this is the pedal for you. Works great for classic rock as well.

Comments about Wampler Euphoria Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal:

This pedal does exactly what it's description claims it does. It gives you THE Dumble sound. Although it will get quite "crunchy" this pedal seems to do it's best providing mildly overdriven amp sounds. I say "amp sounds" because this pedal does indeed give you the sound and more importantly, the feel, of an overdriven tube amp. It responds remarkably well to picking dynamics and cleans up very nicely (as most Wampler pedals do) with the guitar's volume control. Excellent choice for a bluesy or even classic rock overdrive tone. I'm running this pedal through a Deluxe Reverb, Hot Rod DeVille and a Blues Junior and it sounds amazing through all of them. The only downside to this unit is that it is a little on the expensive side, but let's face it...you get what you pay for. It's construction an aesthetics are unparalleled. A really top notch pedal.

Comments about Wampler Euphoria Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal:

This is the most response, articulate, and transparent overdrive I've ever played.

The three way toggle is like having three different overdrives in one. Smooth is like the classic Dumble vibe, Open is a crazy transparent boost with lots of volume on tap, and Crunch has the most gain and a warm fuzziness in the notes.

The bass control is really neat because as you turn it up, the overdrive gets a little warmer and fuzzier. You can get some cool woman tones with the bass up on your neck pickup or just a hint of fuzzy note bloom.

Sounds great with my Telecaster and Carr Rambler. I want my overdrive to sound and respond like an amp, not like a pedal. And I want my clean and drive tones to have the same basic sound or voicing. This pedal is perfect for me because, with the way I have it set up, it feels like I've just added a foot switchable gain stage to the amp.

Comments about Wampler Euphoria Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal:

The Wampler Europhia pedal (previously named Ecstasy) is simply the best OD pedal I have ever used. Plenty of gain on tap and cleans up nicely when you bring the guitar volume down.

I use this pedal with a Twin Reverb and an American Standard Strat and the OD sound is so great and so Transparent. It can nail those Dumble tones if that's what you want, but it is much more than a one trick pony. I especially like that when you crank the bass control on the pedal, it seems to add some fuzz without sounding fizzy or muddy. Maintains great single note articulation even at higher gain settings. Very responsive to pick attack. In short, it reacts like a pushed tube amp.

Sounds great with single coils. The build quality is excellent. It is super easy to dial in a great sound. I can't think of a single thing I would change about this pedal.

I am so impressed, I have bought two other Wampler pedals since I got this one. I picked up the Faux Spring Reverb and the Ego Compressor. Great pedals as well.

Comments about Wampler Euphoria Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal:

I have had many OD's over the last 30 years but none compare to the Wampler. I own tube amps exclusively and this pedal is one that sounds good through the clean channel and when driving the tubes. It works well with other pedal and it truly does clean up just like a tube amp based on how hard I play and the volume of my guitar. I have 14 pedals on my board and I can honestly say that this is my absolute "can't live without" pedal. My second fav pedal is also a Wampler, the "Sovereign". Both these pedals work well with single coils, humbuckers and other pedals. They are simpley well made, well engineered, and very easy to dial in the tones I'm looking for. The Euphoria is almost like having 3 OD's in one, by using the mini toggle. Very versatile. Expensive? No, not really, because you get what you pay for. In the long run I could have bought the Euphoria and not bouoght 7 or 8 others that never satisfied like this does.
