This is a great little device that will allow you to play on your own or with an MP3 player and output either or both to an amp or recording device. I bought it to play over mp3 jam tracks. I like the effects there are 6: Reverb, Chorus, Delay, Phaser, Tremolo, and Wah. You can only use 2 at a time, Reverb or Chorus or Delay and Trem or Phaser or Wah.

There are 3 amp settings, Warm, Normal or Bright, which are just okay. It can be powered with 4 AAA batteries or a 6-12 V DC adapter.Overall I really like the size and the functionality of the iGTR. I'd love to see them expand the capabilities of this product to add more amps but for the size and money this is a great little unit.

If you want to see/hear it in use go to YouTube.
6 effects and 3 amp seetings
MP3 player connectivity so that you can play over/along with songs
output to an amp or a recording device
standard headphone jack
So far so good.
Not a bad price.

I usually write reviews with positive comments based on my experience with a product. While this item has a very good concept for features needed in a headphone amp, it crashed almost immediately (less than 3 hours use).I bought it to plug in while kicked back in my recliner: practice some licks. etc. Sounds from it were decent and had parameters - but, again, cheaply made. The device started "clicking" off and on as though someone was toggling in on/off switch. Checked my cords, earphones, changed the batteries, but no - it was the device. $50 gone, but not forgotten.

I
This unit sounded ok but it had an internal connection problem. If you move it around or put it in the belt clip holder the sound would cut off.

Comments about Waves iGTR Modeling Guitar Headphone Amp:

Received this unit 3 days ago and it's going back asap. It does what it says it will do, and if it worked all the time I would give it a great review. Unfortunately, many of the other reviews are right. It will begin cutting out every few seconds for a couple of seconds, then come back on, making it impossible to practice or record. Not a great sounding unit, but for the money it COULD do a good job if it would just work all the time. I'll be sending this one back for a refund today. Real waste of money, especially since I had it shipped overnight. Will have to make do with the old Rockman until I find something better than the it to replace it.

Comments about Waves iGTR Modeling Guitar Headphone Amp:

Great idea,Great price, poor engineering..!! It needs a compressor built in before it hits the pre-amp or before the effects... if you have hot pickups... the two I purchased, shut off as soon as I would play a loud hard passage.. I could put up with the bright cheesy sounding distortion... I loved the auto wah.! The phase shifter was excellent..! I loved the price, but if something is not engineered correctly .... and it shuts it's self off.... well why wast the money..! To bad I would love to have one that worked.. I own a school of music and if it worked correctly I could have had every student purchase one .. Their parents,,, would have loved it.. jeff..

Comments about Waves iGTR Modeling Guitar Headphone Amp:

This thing must have a design problem. I'm on my second one and both are the same. After playing for about 15 minutes, the sound just drops out when any of the effects are used. After that, it emits an eardrum blowing hiss through the headphones. Don't buy it until they get it right.

Comments about Waves iGTR Modeling Guitar Headphone Amp:

This is a decent little headphone amp. Not something you would want to record with, but for practice it gets the job done nicely. I love that you can plug your MP3 player into the amp and play with your favorites. I wish the volume controls were a little more sensitive, but for banging around in my as case, it's not bad.

Comments about Waves iGTR Modeling Guitar Headphone Amp:

I used to have a Rockman, but it was SO noisy (I had a Strat, so maybe it didn't like single coils) but now I am playing an Epi SG through this, and the difference is unbeleivable! From clean to nasty, and with more effects than I expected, I'm so glad I bought it.

      Don't bother

      By Beserkeleyman

Comments about Waves iGTR Modeling Guitar Headphone Amp:

I purchased this device and had to return it twice. Both times it fritzed out on me. If you bump it lightly, and it is portable, so it will get jostled, it'll short out. Finally it just gave up on me altogether. Very disappointing, since, when it worked, it sounded really good. It's light and easy to get started. Just not well made.
