This truely is the best sounding box i could ever own! It makes you feel as if you are in a recording studio!
The Mic Modeling is great. Finally a product for a serious acoustic guitarist. The features need a little improvment though. The reverb sounds kind of cheap and offers no control over paramaters. The tuner doesn't work as well as it should. But overall a great "all in one" box.
I was pleasantly surprised when I got the unit home and put it through its paces. It is super quiet and makes the guitar sing. The combination of effects are terrific. I was also pleased with the price and the ruggedness of the unit. It is super.
The AG Stomp makes me feel like I own many more guitars then I actually do and it does so much for my Yamaha APX10, Ovation tangent, and Godin A6. I wonder though if yamaha can make the AG a a little smaller and lighter and build in an expression pedal. Otherwise, the only thing you can ask for are more presets for the AG in the next generation.
Why I'd bet this thing could even make an Ovation sound like a real guitar! There's not a hint of piezo quack when this box is on the job. Makes my Tak sound superb, and has rekindled my interest in playing and recording acoustic guitar.
I record with premium mics, Taylor guitars and High end equipment, but when I plugged in to this unit..man, I was truly impressed. With very very little effort I had an accoustic sound that rivals any high end microphone out there. Nice Job Yamaha! One thing, do NOT use any other power supply with this unit, because it will light up & everything, but it won't put out any sound..makes you think the unit is bad. It's not, it just requires a 12v 1a AC power supply.I highly recommend this unit. Honestly, it's worth every cent. Studio guys, don't look this little unit over, it will be a gem to have in your lineup.
As a live touring musician, I needed a good quality unit giving me sound flexibility and accuracy, while being housed in a rugged design. This unit gave me all in one compact box.The only bummer about the unit is the fact that you actually have to read the user manual to figure out how to save the settings (volume, eq levels, etc) into the user-assignable patches, and the fact that you can't use the additional effects (delay and chorus) simultaneously.Overall, a high quality box with superb acoustic sound. Definately worth the price.
I bought the AG Stomp about a year ago... Great selection of sounds and models. The unit is very quiet and the mic modeling is cool... As far as ease of use... you gotta read the instructions or you will be lost! Also, you need the optional pedal in order to switch between more than 3 presets. For live playing, the tuner is useless, but the feedback reduction is great! Great box for the studio, though!!! Records like a dream on even the cheapest little multitrack.
This box is an all perpuse stomp box all you need is a volume pedal and your good to go.
