An old audio guru told me about Yorkville / Traynor, the Canadian company that has been building great gear for decades. I was fed up with the ridiculous high-prices and hype of the boutique bass amps and cabs, so on his advice, i tried one of these in a little shop near Niagara Falls. WOW! I played through it for about five minutes and bought it immediately. Since then, I've played on tour with it for about six-months.What a great cab! This thing looks small, but Man, it packs a punch!I don't know what brand of speakers are in it, but they sound fantastic. It can handle low B on the 5-string, and it produces the deep tones of my acoustic bass very nicely. It's small enough to get in a Taxi, which is important in New York.USER TIP: Place the cab on its end so that it is vertical. That dramatically improves horizontal dispersion and makes it easier to reach the controls of your amp head... or rack in my case. USER TIP 2: I bought two wheels, screwed them on the side, and added a telescoping handle. Although this is small, it is very solidly constructed, and so weighs about 50 pounds. Using the handle and wheels makes it a breeze to move.I have played through Bag-End, Eden, Ampeg, ...all the big-name cabs and a slew of the boutique cabs. This is an awesome deal... the best bass cab in its class. Highly recommended!
I own one, for the money you cannot go wrong. Good working man's cabinet.
