This is one sweet little amp. I bought it almost one year ago. It is without a doubt this loudest and best sounding 100 Watt bass combo out there. I have never had to turn the volume over 3. But volume aside, the tone is fantastic. the scoop knob is great and allows for quick style changes with the turn of a knob. I plan on upgrading to the 200 watt combo with the 2 10's in Feb. Also, between myself and my friend who plays bass in our church band this amp has A LOT of hours with no electrical malfunctions. Furthermore, I have yet to find a bass player who was not impressed with the how little money was required for such a big sounding amp. Do Not Hesitate To Buy This Amp!

Good for classic tones

First of all, I must say that I think this is a VERY well built little rig. Second, it is made almost exclusively for classic bass tones. Slapping DOES bring out some treble response, but with the fingers it sounds very full and bassy. I'm mainly a punk and metal player so I look for deep yet bright tones, but if you want the tones of Jamerson, Babbit, or even Geddy if you crank the treble up and cut the bass, you can't go wrong.

Satisfactory

By Stephen J

This was my first real amp. I use it with my Peavey Milestone III, so unfortunately, I have never REALLY got to see how good it is. It is certainly loud enough and the EQ does its job well. The scoop is okay, but the built in DI Box is great! It is THE reason I like this amp. Great for playing small gigs, as long as they have a PA system.

warm tone!

By SomeSolo

awesome tone! the first day i played it, wow! the tone just blew me away. it's solid like a rock! this thing deserves more credit than other amps. i compared it with fender bassman, ampeg ba115 and lemme say that this is in the same range, just not a pricey. wow spend more when this thing does the job?

A solid bass rig, better value than big names

For a basic, intro-level 100 watt bass amp with a 15" speaker and no tweeter, Yorkville's XM100 has got the goods, and works for real gigs, not just the basement or garage. Versatile but simple controls (three EQ bands and a Contour knob), effects loop, XLR out, CD line input, headphone jack, and a stupendous warranty (2 years even if you break it, 8 more with a normal warranty), plus it's built well from quality components and a birch plywood cab.The XM100 is the best choice in its category and price range -- a better value in general than small 100-watters from Fender, Ampeg, SWR, GK, Peavey, Kustom, Hartke, Roland, and Ibanez. And it's made in Canada, eh, just like me!

This little brother to the Yorkville 400B does what I ask it to. I use it with my Acoustic trio, and the sound is rich and full. The slope control really rounds out the sound. I only use Yorkville Bass amps these days, and have finally found the perfect Combo Amp. Don't be afraid to try one.
