I am a semi professional bass player and I currently play through a Yorkville XC410 cabinet powered by a Hartke 7000 preamp. This cabinet has met everyone of my expectations and my only regret is that I am having difficulty locating a second XC410 cabinet.
If you have never tried a Yorkville, you really need to. There is nothing better.
I have tried many 4x10's in my quest for a great sounding cab, and from the moment I played this baby it has shown me more than I knew existed. I run mine through a yorkvile 400 watt amp which produces some serious tone, and it keeps up its response and quality tone up to the max. No other amp I've ever played (especially ampeg) gives a clear cut tone consistantly as the yorkville also the tweeter is amazing for the tube overdrive that comes with the xs400 head, a deep growl that stays level through the frequencies (which is adjustable on the back of the 4x10) it's a pure distortion tone I never got with the common bose overdrive bass pedal. The thing just really handles everything from true jazz to metal core to all types of experimental. It's also North American made and durable through anything (even water and mud; with its "rhino-like" covering you can literally water-spray off debry and dry off)- great for heavy outdoor touring. Yorkville is already the best name in PA sound, and Traynor is highly respected for their guitar amps. So give the Yorkville bass line a try and hear the difference.
As a metal bassist on a budget, I was looking for affordable gear. Yorkville more than provided. Probably one of the cheapest 4X10's on the market, and has this sick deep rolling sound to it. My only gripe: Wish it could handle more wattage.
This cab isnt all that good. I got it thinking it would be a nice cab. but to my suprise i blew one of the speakers magnets off with in the first month of having it. it sounded good when i got it. but then is sounded bad. i sent it back to the company and they were cool about it and are sending me a new speaker. ihavent gotten the speaker yet but... I only turned it in about three days ago. all i can say is that is sounds good.
