Comments about Zoom G2 Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal:
The drives are outstanding. The fact that you can switch agorithems after creatin a preset is an advantage over other budget multieffectors. i bought it for packing light to practice while traveling and to inprove the versitility of my bang around practice amp. it does both effectively. i'm glad i did, because i have now been successfully introduced to Zoom. it has me wanting to replace tracks on some of my demo's because of drives, like the digital fuzz.

Comments about Zoom G2 Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal:
So far, good for use on my electric violin for live shows--and there are even some effects that can work for the fret-less bass. The Drum machine is a bonus feature. I like the stomp buttons--and being able to shape the patches like a synth, and of 'course, the portable size. But I've found some issues: still learning how to save the tweaked patches (not very intuitive), and you have to scroll through the patches to get to the one you need (even on the saved patches)----it's not always practical for a live show, when you have quick song changes. Otherwise, it's works well.
Comments about Zoom G2 Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal:
Best little effects unit for the price. Sounds are great. I got compliments on how warm it sounds through my tube amps through the effects loop. Also, put it through my DAW and it sounded pretty good. Like I said before I would add a few extra switches and volume pedal built it.
I have the Richie Kotzen Model which is basically the same thing but with Richie's presets. I like the features this unit has in terms of being intuitive and dialing in the effects you want. You can use 9 effects at one time which is awesome. I run this unit through my effects loop in my 6505 head and also my Fender Twin amp taking advantage of more or less the effects like delay, chorus, reverb and flanger. But this thing is capable of much more and you can use the many different amp models in it. My favorite thing about it is that is is very simple and easy to use. I have other bigger multi effects units and there is so much time you have to put into them. Once you've read the manual once you can figure this thing out so easily. I also like Richie's presets. Lots of funky sounds, wah, and it sounds like his total tone running through a good tube amp. I wouldn't advise running this unit through a solid state amp, you just don't get the best tonal capabilities. I would add a foot pedal and another switch and this would be perfect but you can buy those seperately.
Contruction is fantastic. Made of metal, durable, has rubber bumpers. Knobs work well. Top notch.
Good price for what it does. I use this thing more than my expensive units because it is easier to program and use.
Comments about Zoom G2 Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal:
Has great delays, distortions, and "synth-y" sounds. The tap tempo is also awesome.
Comments about Zoom G2 Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal:
I've had this for about 3 years now (got rid of the previous model as soon as this came out), and it has been really reliable. I would note that the dial knobs along the top are not chrome metal, but plastic. One of them broke off, but still works when you sit it on the peg where it goes. Aside from this, it has been a true champ. Playing on the acoustic channel with the distortion set at around "70" (through my Vox AC-30VR) can give a Les Paul the sound of a whole other guitar, along the lines of a Strat mixed with a hollow body. The more I fool with it, the more I'm amazed at what it can do. GREAT deal for a hundred bucks.
Comments about Zoom G2 Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal:
The ubiquitous mantra amongst modern tone hounds is "digital sucks".I have several tube amps, and mostly I agree with that mantra...except when it comes to this pedal. The sounds you can get from this little miracle are mezmerizing. I have soooo many analog pedals. And I'll pull them out every so often convinced that I've left something behind by just using this "lowly" digital pedal. Then I'll get tired of fighting with high gain noise and ground loops, and bs, and go back to this pedal again and...WOW! This thing has just sounds amazing. The only downside of this pedal is that it's complicated to set up (as are most multi-effects units). But spend the requisite couple of evenings setting it up...and you could end up with an entire rig that fits in a gig bag. A truly amazing pedal, digital or otherwise.
Comments about Zoom G2 Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal:
First let me say the Harmonized Pitch Shifter alone is worth the price. It tracks perfectly and even though it only shows 2 minor keys, let me say "Learn your Modes" and you can use any of the settings for all. ex. You want a fifth about in D Dorian Or Am etc, just set it to C Maj. Although I prefer pedals, this is the only one I found where you could turn off the amp sounds and use only the effects you want. Not that they sound bad, I just don't care for digital amps.I have since also purchased the A2 & B2!!

i use two of these . wa -zoom-your favorite dist pedal-zoom. use the one before for boost, pitch ,comp-etc the one after for chorus delay reverb etc your setup will rock
Comments about Zoom G2 Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal:
This unit excels at one thing: IT SOUNDS GOOD.You'll hear people bash zoom all over the place, but the simple fact is that Zooms multi effects alogorithm in this series sounds better than Boos, Digitiech, Korg, etc. I use this as a chorus/flange/trem/vibe/pitch shifter/harmonizer/extra delay..so it basically replaces 6 extra pedals on my board that I would only use for 1 or 2 songs in a set each. Well, well worth $100...and I've had people come up to me after my bands set and ask where I got that awesome solo harmony tone from. I laugh and tell them it's a $100 pedal that the jerk at the music store laughed at when I bought it.
Comments about Zoom G2 Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal:
Have mine for over a year, which this replaced the my old Zoom 505. As the others have said it's effects are great, the limited tweakability is not a problem for me. It has some very cool amp sims, I personally like the Fender, PV, Boogie. THE KILLER APP IN THIS UNIT IS: You can set-up a patch and use a FtSw to toggle your delay On or Off while the rest of your patch is active!!! Nobody else has this feature. I use this in my Amp FX loop to provide Hall Reverb & Chorus and a DP1 FtSw as my Delay On/Off. Run the DP1 down to the floor next to my Front-End pedals, and it's like having super compact bulletproof rack unit in my gig bag.
