    Zoom

Legendary Tone. Extreme Power. Intuitive Control.

With 30 models of amazing amplifier sounds with mind-blowing realism and inspiring expressiveness, a USB audio interface for direct recording using DAW software, and a rhythm machine, looper function and more, the G2Nu gives you everything you need for live performance, studio session or productive practice. Get premium performance in an all-in-once pedal.

    New drive sounds
Zoom's completely redesigned drive sounds use the most technologically advanced spectral analysis, impulse response and frequency response data, making all the new settings offered on the G2Nu the most realistic models Zoom has ever created. There are 20 models of legendary guitar amps and stomp boxes, with accurately fine-tuned sonic aspects like gain setting, range and harmonics character. In addition, you can choose from 10 original sounds created by Zoom, designed for excellent clarity and presence, capturing your dynamic range adjustments and picking nuances that give you that truly expressive tone that you crave.

    USB Audio Interface
The G2Nu operates as an audio interface, letting you record directly to a computer connected via USB cable. All your sound settings used during rehearsal or a live performance can be recorded onto your DAW software. Its direct monitoring capability eliminates any latency problems, assuring realistic studio conditions and hassle-free operation.

    Direct mode optimized for recording
All 30 drive sounds have a special modeling algorithm designed specifically for line recording. Simply turn on the DIRECT key on the top panel and enjoy dynamic amp sounds that recreate the ideal speaker cabinet characteristics over a flat response audio system or headphones. Of course, this mode works perfectly for direct recording to a DAW application via the USB audio interface.

20 Amazing patches created by Steve Vai
The G2Nu features 20 highly creative and versatile patches produced under the supervision of master guitarist Steve Vai. Also included are dozens of presets that authentically recreate the vintage rock sounds of the sixties and seventies, plus the styles of many famous artists. Zoom supplies 100 patches right out of the box and you can create your own and save up to 100 more right on the pedal.

    Edit and share
Zoom's Edit & Share software is available through a free download and allows you to use your computer to intuitively create, edit and save your own, personalized amp and effect settings. Use "radar charts" to show a visual representation of the tone characteristics of each preset patch. And amp/effect type sorting helps you quickly find the tone you are after. Using drag and drop to rearrange patches makes editing easy and fun, and you can even download the latest patches online. You can even share your patches with others or download a cool patch someone else created.

Smooth tube distortion models made possible by ZFX-3 processor
To recreate the rich blend of harmonics in the upper frequency ranges that are unique to tube amplifiers, you need a powerful, fast processor. Thanks to its high-resolution signal processing using 96 kHz sampling and 24-bit A/D/A conversion, the advanced ZFX-3 sound engine implements complex digital modeling technology to convincingly recreate those subtle tube amp characteristics.

    Large LCD
One of the most important and useful new additions to the G2Nu is its large 1.9 inch display. This new screen makes creating your own sounds a breeze. But Zoom has also simplified the interface with three large control knobs to make changing your tone similar to a stomp box, making the overall operation easy and intuitive.

"Collectors edition" of 83 guitar effect types
Ranging from standard to advanced, nine modules with 83 high-quality effects provide unsurpassed flexibility and tonal variation. Choose effects like the MXR Dynacomp, famed for its peculiar compression, Vox Crybaby and other renowned wah pedals, four types of chorus with great depth and ambience and six types of reverb providing transparent clarity. Or let your tonal imagination run free with dynamic flangers, tremolo with selectable modulation waveform, harmonized pitch shifter, multi-tap delay, reverse delay and many more.

Studio quality 6-band graphic EQ on-board
The frequency bands of the built-in 6-band graphic equalizer were designed specifically for electric guitar. In the crucial midrange, which determines a great deal about tonal quality (400 Hz, 800 Hz, 3.2 kHz, 6.4 kHz), peaking type characteristics are used. The low end (160 Hz) and high end (12 kHz) are adjusted with shelving type curves. This gives you the complete tone control capability normally found on high-end studio gear.

    Auto-chromatic tuner with LED indication
The LCD display and LED indicators make its auto- chromatic tuner easy to use on a dark stage. Its mute tuning capability is also very useful on stage.

Drum machine with PCM sound sources
Choose from 40 different rhythm patterns including 8-beat and 16-beat as well as 4-beat, shuffle and many other variations. The intuitive tap key makes it easy to directly set the tempo. Start a jam session anytime, anywhere.

    Looper function
Use its 5 second looper function to record, playback and overdub guitar phrases that can be controlled with your pedal. This "sound-on-sound" feature lets you lay down phrases in real time, and during a live solo, you can use the looped sound as backing.

    Ultra low noise
Specifications such as a signal-to-noise ratio of 120 dB and noise floor of -100 dBm provide a level of performance that is unsurpassed. Background noise is effectively eliminated, and ZOOM's proprietary ZNR noise reduction also removes unwanted noise. Even the tails of sustained notes come out beautifully, with natural release.

    Extremely fast patch change
With its amazing patch change speed of only 5 milliseconds, the G2Nu allows you to never miss a beat. Change from rhythm playing to a solo in an instant by simply pushing the switch and start playing the solo phrase at the same time because the muting interval when switching patches has been reduced to an absolute minimum.

Comments about Zoom G2Nu Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal/USB Interface:

I have used Zoom products in the past and they were always decent. I once had a Zoom G2.1u which was great unit, though not the easiest to learn right off, but had a lot of features. I didn't care for the fact it had an expression pedal. Expression pedal on most low to mid priced effects units tend to be bad and un responsive. I had a Boss ME25 which was ok, but lacked a lot features that the zoom had. I use some Digitech stuff before and it sounded horrible to me and the distortion models sounds like a can of bees. Considering I already have a Peavey 5150 2x12 and a Roland Cube 15, I want something that could enhance my sound through the 5150, something that I could run through the Roland Cube that would sound good for lower volumes to practice at any hour since I live in an apartment building and something I could hook up to my computer for recording my own tracks. This unit did it all for me. It didn't have a ton of useless stuff I'd never use like some of the multi effects units and modeling amps I've encountered, but had more than the basics for what I needed. This is a well built unit., it's a metal casting with rubber sidings which would make it gig worthy and the bypass switches are sturdy metal bars that are easy to press on unlike some of the wide plastic ones on Boss or Digitech unit. I have big feet so for me to change banks I don't end up hitting to wrong switch. I love the fact it has a drum machine built in, I can set the tempo, the style and the mix easily. To engage and disengage effects is so easy with this unit. Tweaking your sound is so easy too. It has a well lit LCD screen which would come in handy when gigging in dim places to see what you're doing. The bypass and tuner aren't that easy to get at though because you have to hit both switches at the same time, but that does affect me because I'd rather use a chromatic tuner any day and the looper through the bypass is only 5 second, what good does that do for most people with that limited amount of time? I love the fact the MF price matched me as well, it saved me a lot of time and money. The best part is this unit is very compact and doesn't have an expression pedal. You maybe thinking would that be a con? For me not really, it's more of a pro. With the money I saved I'd use the difference and get a separate expression pedal that would be a lot more responsive and more durable. One last thing, the recording software that comes with this unit is useless in my opinion. I couldn't activate it and even if I could I wouldn't use it, I'd sooner get decent recording software. Cubase LE 4 that came with it is old and not that good.

Comments about Zoom G2Nu Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal/USB Interface:

Like most pros who have been playing forever, I have several pedal boards in different sizes for different venues.

I have grown tired of carting huge amps and pedal boards.

I have been gigging with a Fender Champ. I mic if I need to. The Evil Twin stays home. Now that I have this multi effect pedal, I no longer bring all those individual pedals out. Between the two channels on the Champ and this amazing multi- effect unit, I can get any sound I need. I really like most of the effects in the unit, but mostly use just a few. The "big muffin" effect is really ultra close to the real thing as is "the rat". It is a great little unit, and at the end of the night, it fits into the pocket of my gig bag. I have not even messed with hooking it up to the pc yet. There are so many sounds in this thing and you can tweak each one. Sure, there are some sounds I'll never use, but I am very happy with the sounds I do use. And for the price, you can't beat it. As always, the transaction with Musicians Friend was flawless. It is so nice to walk out of a club at the end of the night with one 25 pound amp and a gig bag on my shoulder. No more hand trucks for me.

Comments about Zoom G2Nu Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal/USB Interface:

I like Zoom as a company, just unhappy with this all in one pedal. I have tried Line 6 POD's (all of them) and most other all in one pedals and have never liked any of them. so please keep that in mind when reading my review. Zoom makes an A2 all in one pedal for acoustic guitar that works great, but when it comes to electric guitar through and amp,it's a different story. This G2NU is no better than any other all in one pedal as far as playing live electric guitar goes. With headphones on and in direct mode, there are some usefull tones for recording. I really liked the acoutic simulator. When I tried to use this pedal in a live setting, the distortion settings made my tube amp (Peavey Classic 30 & Classic 50) sound like I was playing through a cheap solid state amp. I play an American Deluxe Strat, and a Gibson Les Paul. IMHO,There is no substitute for tube overdrive or boosting a tube amp with a good individual overdrive or distrotion pedal. The other effects were ok, but the distortions were unusable in my opinion.I found all of the pre-set patches to be useless. I was able to tweak my own that were passable, but only with modulation, reverb and delay. If you only need modulation, reverb and delay, this might work for you. It's a well built, easy to use pedal, but it is what it is.

Comments about Zoom G2Nu Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal/USB Interface:

Best Bang for the Buck: Tone/Price. The most practical and portable multi-effects for live and recording. For others it needs time to tweak with this little fella. In your face drive sounds. Try it. Blind Test is must! Zoom g2nu VS other high end multi or analogs out there. The truth is in your ears. TRY IT.
