Now celebrating fifty years, Marshall amplifiers have helped countless music stars fill up halls not only with their sound, but with fans. In the early 1960's, drummer Jim Marshall's legacy began when guitarists who visited his music shop in London convinced him he should make amplifiers. Among those guitarists were Deep Purple's Ritchie Blackmore and The Who's Pete Townshend. He took their suggestions and with help from his shop repairman and an EMI technician, a number of prototypes were developed. It was the sixth prototype that produced what became referred to as the "Marshall Sound" which is recognized for its signature crunch and volume.

Even though The Who was innovative in starting the trend of stacking Marshall cabinets, the size of their gear was too big to take overseas. Jimi Hendrix and Cream got a good chunk of the credit for inventing the Marshall stacks because they were first seen by a wider American audience. As the pursuit of loudness grew more competitive, some bands experimented by stacking as many as 28 cabinets to get that impressive wall of sound.

If you're a performer who wants to blow them away with amazing, clean sound The Marshall 1960AV lets you rock out big time and gives you quality that is well worth the investment. Casters make it simple to roll this amp to your gig when you don't have a roadie to help you. The cool retro style 1960AX is great for big gigs because with 100W handling it's a blast to play loud, recreating the big distorted sounds of metal bands like Black Sabbath and Judas Priest or the classic tone of vintage blues and rock bands. Classic rockers who've been at it for years rave about the 1960TV Cabinet and say you'll never need another because it is so versatile. This powerful beast has monster tone and brings out different characteristics of different guitars. If you like to play around in your home studio, the DSL 40C 40W All-Tube is a great guitar combo amp that you can also take to practices or outdoor events. Easy to use, this powerful little amp rocks because of its excellent sound and warmth, whether you're at home or in your buddy's garage.

The Marshall legacy has lived on to celebrate "50 Years of Loud" with a trademark sound and a long lineup of quality products. The Marshall stack continues to tower at concerts around the world, announcing their presence with their famous warmth and clarity that is magic to hear.
