Comments about Mighty Mite MM2919 P-Bass Replacement Neck with a Fretless Ebonol Fingerboard:

If you're good with a drill and screwdriver and know how to set up a bass, there's no reason you can't use this neck.

I couldn't pass up an cheap Squier Jazz at a pawn shop for use as a project bass. I thought about ripping the frets out, but for the time it takes to do it right, it didn't make sense to do so when there's this affordable slice of heaven.

It will definitely need some setting up; it's no good right out of the box. The guitar tech at my local music store filed the nut slots down, which I think is a definite must for playability. The tuner bushings had a bit of trouble going into the holes, so I used a rattail file to open the holes up a bit. The neck fit perfectly into the Jazz Bass's pocket, and then I did some truss rod adjustments to get the neck almost completely flat. Custom decals for the headstock finished the job nicely. If you have any concerns about installation, there's a great YouTube video called "Fretless Bass Neck Replacement" showing a funny Canadian installing this very neck.

Properly set up, it's smooth as silk to play, encourages expression, and has that great fretless tone.

Comments about Mighty Mite MM2919 P-Bass Replacement Neck with a Fretless Ebonol Fingerboard:

When I first considered this neck I called and was told it would fit my Dean bass. But I found that I had to do a little router work on it to get it to seat properly. It was worth the extra work though because it plays great.

Comments about Mighty Mite MM2919 P-Bass Replacement Neck with a Fretless Ebonol Fingerboard:

Replaced an old Hohner fretless neck that had warped. Had to rout out the body 1/8" wider to accepth the neck. Depth was fine. The neck is hard wood, so use the correct pilot holes for the screws, I broke a couple.
Set up nicely, had to do a little tweaking, neck angle, truss rod, pickup height and bridge saddle height to get the action where I like it. Worth the effort and the money. I have my old fretless bass back and it plays as good as it ever did....

Comments about Mighty Mite MM2919 P-Bass Replacement Neck with a Fretless Ebonol Fingerboard:

I acquired a used Squier Jazz fretless bass but really didn't care for the neck. I couldn't get the fretboard flat enough to enable decent action, and the strings would dead-out above the 12th fret, making that part of the fretboard useless unless I raised the action to an uncomfortable level. Also, I personally don't like the thin profile of a Jazz neck anyway, so a P-style neck seemed like the way to go. I considered dropping twice or more as much money on a Warmouth or Carvin neck, but I took a chance on this one and glad I did. It's very good and a considerable improvement over the stock. I had to sand the heel just a bit to fit the neck pocket, but noticed that after a week or so in the Arizona weather, the wood shrunk just a bit, so if you live in a dry area, maybe wait a week or two before fitting the neck. Anyway, the neck still fits very tightly and I'm pleased. The feel is very good. Neck adjusts easily and fretboard action is very playable. Maybe not as low as it could be as the fretboard isn't 100% perfectly flat, but it's pretty darn close. There is none of that "hump" up past the 12th fret that was a problem with the stock neck, so the upper register is very useable. Ebanol fretboard looks good and plays well. It's a bit shiny for my taste, but ok. Nut had to be adjusted quite a bit, but that was to be expected. Probably I'll trade it out for better material at some point.

All in all, a very good purchase. I've been using this as my sole instrument on gigs lately, so obviously I'm feeling confident in it. Also just got done laying down 12 tracks for an upcoming CD, and everyone dug the sound. Gotta say, I love it when I can make cheap gear perform like the big $$$ stuff!

Comments about Mighty Mite MM2919 P-Bass Replacement Neck with a Fretless Ebonol Fingerboard:

Super beauty neck!! With some minor router work I got this neck to fit a '90's knock-off Fender P-Bass. Although suggested as a replacement neck for Fenders only, can very easily be fitted to other Fender-like basses. Action and tone are great and the ebonol fretboard is very durable and shows little wear after hours of shred-tastic face melting, pocket grooving, callus making jams. Do *NOT* pull frets out of your current fretboard, this inexpensive neck will get your bass "muah"-ing like Jaco after simply drilling 4 holes. A definite A+!

Comments about Mighty Mite MM2919 P-Bass Replacement Neck with a Fretless Ebonol Fingerboard:

I have the best of both worlds. I don't know why Fender does not make this combination. Active J bass with a fretless P bass neck. I play double bass in the symphony. On our Pops concerts and Broadway concerts I need an electric. I love both the feel and the sound of this neck. The Ebonol is harder than Ebony and has a great sound and is durable. One of the other bassists in my section wants me to build him one. I will also play this for touring shows.

Comments about Mighty Mite MM2919 P-Bass Replacement Neck with a Fretless Ebonol Fingerboard:

Finally, an easy-excellent way to transform a bass into fretless.
This neck was easy to screw onto my SX jazz bass, and it was a huge improvement over the rosewood neck I had de-fretted.
Consistent sound from string to string and note to note, with much improved punch and sustain.
              It has a satin finish.
I'm going to put some tiny notches along the side of the fingerboard as fret markers though, as this neck only has marker dots at the traditional alternating frets. Meanwhile I use tiny pieces of tape for fret markers.

Comments about Mighty Mite MM2919 P-Bass Replacement Neck with a Fretless Ebonol Fingerboard:

was suprised at the limited amount of maitenence needed to fit the neck into the squire neck pocket, the Mighty Might neck is definitly a better neck then the old squire one that came with the original guitar, very happy, may install one on another bass.

Great Neck, to replace the fender stock

My Son replaced a damaged Fender Mex Jazz Bass neck with this Mighty Mite fretless P Bass neck.

He had to sand the heel of the neck, with a sanding block to round out the corners to fit the Fender Mex Jazz Bass Heal socket.

Some light sanding and a perfect fit.

The fingerboard is GREAT. smooth hard woody sound.

Half a turn to the truss rod, set action and intonation, This is a HUGE Improvement over the stock neck.

So far this is a great, low cost upgrade. I highly recommend this product..
