Well-balanced, well-designed bass with L.R. Baggs electronics for plugged-in performances.

For astoundingly great voicing on the stage, the highly resonant and full-sounding jumbo body delivers big acoustic depth and presence. The Stage Bass is an all-solid tonewood 4-string that takes full advantage of Breedloves unique bass bracing, featuring the Breedlove Bridge Truss system, which relieves stress on the guitars top while providing additional sustain and balance. Comments about Breedlove Stage Bass Acoustic-Electric Bass Guitar:

Though I'm a longtime musician, I'm but a beginning bass player. This Stage Bass just goes & goes...no amp required. It's super comfortable to play, and sounds great amplified, too. I love the tone, and the included tuner is a nice touch. I understand from another Breedlove dealer that Breedlove will soon no longer make this bass in solid wood, so I wanted get one while they are available. I liked it so well I bought two...one for wifey & me, & one for the kids. Get one!

Comments about Stage Bass Acoustic-Electric Bass Guitar:

Perfect for use in an acoustic bluegrassy four piece group. Sounds good unplugged, as well as electric. Louder and better tone than most acoustic-electrics. Very well made and beautiful. Had a little feedback on stage, pushed the phase button and it resolved. E string buzzes a little, so I'll have to get a little work done, but very happy with the instrument.

Comments about Breedlove Stage Bass Acoustic-Electric Bass Guitar:

I bought this as a replacement for an Ovation bass I have owned for years. My electric band has decided to also do some acoustic gigs, and I found the Ovation's sound and feel to be lacking. I played the smaller Pursuit series bass and liked the smaller size, but not the reviews I have read. I bought this on a whim because it was on sale and figured I'd give it a try. I absolutely love this bass. Incredibly well made, it is very easy to play, and sounds great unplugged or amplified. I was a bit leery of the jumbo size, but it feels comfortable and does not seem as big when I am playing it. Compared to the Ovation it seemed huge, but it fits in the same hard shell case, and most importantly, it is not as deep as the Ovation bowl. It comes with a sturdy hard sided bag, and I will have no qualms taking it to gigs in it. A previous posted mentioned the high action, but I was able to remove the plastic bridge and buzz it down a bit to where it is much more to my liking. It's also nice that they included a spare bridge. I can't wait to play it out, and I would absolutely recommend it others.

Comments about Breedlove Stage Bass Acoustic-Electric Bass Guitar:

Former semi-pro, now a hobbyist. This is a beautifully crafted acoustic bass. The level of finish is great, with quality wood and components throughout. Feels good standing with a strap or sitting, on your lap. The neck is slim, with a very comfortable contour. 34" scale, so the scale (and neck) are longer than some of Breedlove's other basses. Solid Sitka spruce top and solid rosewood body give it a sweet tone. The original phosphor bronze strings are soft on the fingers and seem to be of good quality. The onboard LR Baggs electronics work well and also appears to be of good quality, with a convenient built-in tuner and a phase-reversal switch to help resist feedback. The guitar is not too heavy, even for an old guy like me. Made in Korea, with inspection and setup by Breedlove's staff in Oregon. I was a bit disappointed by the string height (a bit too high for my liking), but I was able to tweak it. The neck is adjustable (Allen wrench included). The bridge is typical acoustic, so there are no individual saddles. The bridge is raised or lowered as a unit by shimming or filing. An extra bridge and some shims are included in the included kit. As with any acoustic bass, the sound is nice but not loud when unplugged, and you can easily get feedback when amplified. I generally use a rubber sound-hole plug to fight the feedback, and it works pretty well. The guitar comes with a very nice padded soft (and logo-ed) case that fits the guitar well and has a neck support block. Not a hard case, but better than what I think of as a gig bag. altogether, this is Breedlove's premier bass, and for some reason MF has recently been selling it at a super discount. Grab one while you can!
