I cant believe the review up here for this bass. ive been through just about all the basses out there for the sound i wanted. acurate clean bottom with rich, full tone that knocks you in the chest. it competes easily with those twice its price! its a little heavy but very comfortable, and the craftmanship is outstanding, solid, clean and beautifull woods and colors. I would like to speak with those who gave the bad review and see what they are comparing it to!
What a beautiful bass for the money!! Active electronics, figured maple top, slim neck, fast action!! excellent finish. I use it every night without fail for 8 years. I own a natural quilted i5, a natural flamed i5, and a cherry sunburst flamed frettless i5. Love them all!!
Solid bass with great tone and versatility. I added the Barts and appreciate the fat bottom end. Can make it mellow or punchy and hot. Great for smoothe groove or slappin' funk. A little dead on the D & G string - recommend the Piezos to take care of this. Tuner hardware a little sloppy and can't quite get the action as low as I'd like to due to the slight "S" in my neck. Have played many of these and they are all similar to each other.
Excellent 6 way tone & volume control. Real meaty sound. Feels great, plays great, beautiful finish and attention to detail. You won't be dissapointed. I have a 4 string, liked it so much I had to get a 5 also.
Great tonal qualities, great look, fit and finish. Comfortable, easy to play. Tuners are smooth as silk; stays in tune. High, mid and bass tone controls make it easy to dial in the sound you want.
Poor quality. The Active electronics made it sound too punchy and not enough bass came through the amp.
This bass has gotten me though many a late gig in the past year I've had it. I bought this used from the wife of a bass peer and friend that had passed away so I didn't have to pay the full price, but I was on my way to buying this exact bass before he passed away. This bass has amazing features My favorite is the "Slap switch" I use this all the time went practicing my slapping and popping. It has great highs and Big round low B rumbles. This is a basic plug and play bass which makes it even more worth the price. Great 3 band EQ. The neck has awesome response and the bass has awesome action. I use this bass for everything I play except jazz I don't like the tone I get from it for jazz. If your looking for a good jazz bass look to Fender. I have a Mex J bass and it's great.
This bass has been my baby for a couple of years and still I love her to the fOOLness. dont have to have long strong fingers to finger it and you will still get this smooth tone outta I5.i usually do not slap on it but i bet Jaco can be proud of me cause i get his ton out off a fretted bASS
Unreliable. Excellent features and action. But poor quality wiring, electronics, and battery system give it poor value. Consistently cuts out during play.
