I'm a guitarist who needed a bass to complete a recording project. I didn't want to blow a whole lot of money but still needed a solid setup. The best I could do was this Dean Edge 1 quilt top.It arrived at my doorstep perfectly playable with a good looking veneer top, fast neck, and decent pickups. I despise bolt-on necks but this one is tolerable and surprisingly smooth with no fret buzz all the way up. The hardware is the cheapest die-cast you can find and warrants an immediate upgrade to nickel parts. If I were a serious bassist this wouldn't be my first choice but for my needs right now it's quite nice. The price is low, the quality high, and with Musician's Friend's return policy there's virtually no risk. If you're a beginner or a bassist in need of a solid back-up rig this one's a winner.

this is overall a good solid bass AS LONG AS you don't play metal or aggressive rock. It is great for more mellow stuff, but it excessively buzzes if played to hard. I have had mine for about a year and this is overall a really good bass . Oh yea and the red one in the picture does not look anything like that. In person it is a really dark, beautiful red.

This is a good bass. It can play everything from Pink Floyd to Lamb of God. The A string rattles on 16th fret to 23 but other than that its good. its a killer looking bass

This was a nice looking bass,and that's about it. The input jack quit working, the neck buzzed anywhere passed the 12th fret, and the tuning keys quit working properly. Maybe I got the short end of the stick on this bass, but I don't reccomend it.

I have owned one other electric base, and I saw this one and I had to have it. I Have the transparent red one and I love it. It plays great and feels good in your hands. I haven't been playing but six months on the base, and I have improved 100% since I purchased this base. I would recommend this bass to anyone. Great price and an awsome player.

And I haven't looked back since. This sucker sounds great, plays easy, and the wood finish is as cool as the tones. Nothing else seems to feel the same.

I got this bass about 3-6 months ago and ever since I open I loved and treasured it. It wasn't in tune when I got but that was easy to fix. The thing I love about it is its neck. Its so easy the neck is so easy to play and it feels awesome. I would recommed this bass to starters and average bass player. Pros might not be as satisfied as I was, but this is an amazing bass for the price. It's just plain AWESOME!!!
