the new dean 2A basses with active electronics are very brutal basses indeed! And these basses create powerful tone and the great thing about the actives in it is i dont have to turn my amp up that loud to shake the windows in my house or at the shows. great deal!

my 10 year old little girlwanted this so I bought it for her.She is in a KISS tribute band called "KIDS".at first I wanted to send it back because it was heavy and standing on the floor it is as tall as she is,but she wanted to keep it so we did.No regrets....Great playing and sounding bass and she handles it like a pro.My guitar playing buddies love it too. Buy It !!

I thought Deans always looked badass, but when I got to play one at my local guitar shop, I wasn't impressed at all. I found the neck abnormally wide for most four strings, and the body just overall way too big for me. I size at about 5' 9" and around 137 pounds, and for me, Dean just makes absurdly sized instruments. Quality wise, it is better then some, but it's just mediocre. For me Deans are just uncomfortable to play with. I've also tried out the 2A V and 2A ML, but I found about the exact same thing, just a different shape. I'd say for this price range, just got with a Traben, they have a lot better quality for dirt cheap.

I've played some basses but this one is by far the best one out there. It's growl is so plesent to the ear and I've played Razorbacks and I still prefer The Dean 2A Z Metalman Bass with Active Electronics. I give this thing a 5 because its flawless. I cant think of anything wrong with it. I prefer it over Fender, Gibson, Ibanez, and DEFENANLY OVER ESP ANY DAY! This bass is just all Around fun And will improve if not make you a better bass player.

This bass is very easy to hold, that is its main advantage over a V. Its easy to finger, and has insane power, the pick-ups do make a difference (they are adjustable on one of the knobs). If you turn up all the knobs to 10, you might have a problem, but it might just be my puny rig. This thing packs power if anything else, the pickups will kill you at 10. I use it with a Digi-tech Metal Master and they work togeather perfectly. It is gorgeous, just gorgeous! It has a beautiful black paint job, Red handsaw inlays that really stand out and terrifying Skull Ruby keys, something only dean could add. Uunfortunately it is not as sharp as it appears but from far away you wont be able to tell. If you want METAL this bass defines the word. Jump for the extra $$$ and get the 2a.

i loved this bass.it was my first one.but i think mine was mest up.i got it in a blem and the pick ups nob didnt work.and then the pickup wires heated up and fell off.so i sent it back and getting a new one.but it sounded great while it lasted
