Great price, lots of attitude!
The long-scale Dean ML Vintage Electric Bass Guitar features a rad body style, but is surprisingly light and well-balanced. This Dean Bass sports a maple neck, rosewood fretboard, chrome hardware, and traditional split-coil and single-coil pickup combination, with the single-coil pickup positioned very close to the bridge for maximum snap.

i love this bass! it has plenty of great features.this is my first upgrade on bass from a squer which i have been using for 4 years. the features on this bassare incredible. the onboard EQ allows you to get the precise tone you are looking for. the body has very good resonating qualitys. no complaints on the finish, and the shape is beutiful. this is the best bass on the market for the price range, and i highly recomend it for those who want a metal tone.so, for those who are just now upgrading from their first bass, this is a great choice.
The Dean ML Bass seems to continually be on back order. I called a fellow Dean dealer and they explained that Dean discontinued this bass because they realized how much money could be made on it. So ??like the X Box 360?? they only are putting out a ?teaser supply? and will make it available again in about 6 months. I?m wondering if this is a bunch of bull-logna, or does any of the 29 people who rated this bass actually have the bass and could give me some insight on how to go about acquiring one.
If you're looking for a new bass, this is it. By far the best playing and looking bass in its price range, and better than most basses I've played in the $1000+ range. It has a nice punchy sound. Plays like butter. The tone knobs work well. One is for bass, one is for treble, and one is the prescence. One complaint that I have is that to cut the volume you need to put the treble and bass knobs down to zero. But otherwise, one of the best basses ive ever played.
As cool looking as the explorer and it has the whole 23 frets. It also comes in a heavy black. Slightly better than the ebony explorer but its too expensive and not such good quality.
This is not the highest quality bass I've ever owned, but ok for the price. Just a couple of complaints. I've found it to be very neck heavy if played with a strap in the standing position. It gets tiresome to fight with the balance after a couple of hours of playing. If you let go of the neck it will dive to the floor. Also It sounds weak and tinny,(could use pick ups).Stays in tune surprisingly well.
This bass is AMAZING!! I had been staring at it on my computer for months and saw it in a local guitar shop of mine. The reason I got it is because I idolize Dimebag Darrel and wanted to felt like i was playing his guitar. So I got not only an enjoy of playing it, but the tone is GREAT too.... I highly recommend getting it. A lot of plusses, and the only downside is that there is not a lot of features on it, but if you mess with those 3 knobs, you can get a variety of tones out of the bass.
