The bass is neither lacking, nor high on my list of basses with baubles... like a P bass, it has a basic tone, volume and input. it has a neck, a bridge, and it has 4 strings... not that much to complain about, the only major complaints that i have are that it doesnt fit onto any stand that i own..(its huge)... and this doesnt really matter, because it stands on its own.. and it doesnt pick up the D, and G strings all that well... i have to try a different string gauge, but with the ones that Dean reccomend, it has very little upper end. the bass is Extremely light. its lighter than my actual guitar is... great when you're playing for a long time.. and add onto all of that, the fact that its a V.... well, it can only be beat by the MLV2A and the Razorback V...

Yeah it sounds good really it does it is a great sounding bass! however it is impossible to play. this is the most uncomfortable bass i have ever played with. yeah it felt neat in the store. yeah it sounds great through any amp actually really good for what is costs. but trying to play a set with it is horrible. the neck is like a ball bat! I ended up putting the great hum bucker in my Fender Precision! now that is a rocking instrument!

Comments about Dean V Metalman 4-String Bass:

Sweet metal tone without a sharp pain in your wallet! All I can say is, if you're looking for a good bass at a good price, you can't go wrong with this one.
It finnaly arrived! I swapped out the stock strings with strings of my choice, then tuned it up. This thing has *killer* tone and looks for a price that's easy on your wallet! Action is a bit high for my taste, but that's easily fixed. If you want a wonderful sounding bass without breaking the bank, then this is for you!
*WAY* higher quality than I was expecting. Thick, heavy body and the soapbar pickup performs *beautifully*.
You *definantly* get a lot for your money on this one!

a good starter

Comments about Dean V Metalman 4-String Bass:

This was my second bass. I first had the Ibanez jumpstart pack, and I got this one for Christmas. This bass is incredible for the price. It is really lightweight and it looks perfect for the metal bassist. You can really stand out with this bass. This is important to me, since I do bass and vocals. The only thing that drives this down are the manufacturer strings. They SUCK. The standard strings make the sound muddy and dull, and there is a problem with buzzing. If you are going to buy this bass, get some D'Addario medium roundwounds.

Awsome Bass Power!!!

Comments about Dean V Metalman 4-String Bass:

I bought my Dean V Metalman Bass about 8 months ago and was truly amazed by the quality, style and performance of this bass. It looks huge but the weight is perfect, just get a 4" strap and let it hang waist level and you can play hours on end. It has an awsome deep metal sound coming from the single humbucker pickup and it barely comes out of tune. You'll be the center of attention when you gig with this bass. Bottom line, for the price, you can't beat this bass, it sounds awsome and looks good, So get your Dean V Metalman Today...

Dean V 4 Life

Comments about Dean V Metalman 4-String Bass:

I got this bass for christmas, but it didn't come until a week afterward. When it came I was so anxtious to play it that I sat down and thrashed for 3 hours or so. The humbucking pickup is really well made and makes this bass growl. The neck is also really freakin big, which I prefer, cuz I have big ol hands. Truly it is only at its best when playing metal, but I and a friend of mine experimented, and if you know what your doing, slap and funk styles come through quite well. I found that this bass demands to be played finger style, picking was just not as comfortable, with no top horn you have perfect access to the strings, making fingering much easier. It's also a solid bass, I dropped it at a gig, and dented the floor, and the bass only got a tiny scratch in the finish. Buy it, it is a good investment. I plan on playing Deans for many years to come.

Great, affordable bass

Comments about Dean V Metalman 4-String Bass:

This is an awesome bass. It's got great playability, it can be punchy, throaty, or just downright mean. I should caution that, for smaller players, this bass will be a killer because of its size. The whole bass is a whopping 51 inches long. Apart from that though, there are no downsides. It's durable, loud, and looks really metal.
