I have this bass, and it is curently my only bass. I dont have a lot of complaints about it, one, that my strap has come undone a few times, but its no big, you can always buy a nice one; two, the amp doesnt get real good sound the louder you go, the buzz isn't terribly bad, but its enough to be anoying; three, its short scale, i have nothing against these, but when i went to get a string i had to cut the end off of a normal scale string, not reall bad, but had a fun time getting it in the tuning key hole, overall, nice bass, nothing really bad to stop from making it a first

Dont buy this bass. Especially for Beginners. Yeah sure if your little like a kid learning but otherwise dont do it. The frets are so small and this bass is tiny and horrible. The strings last a while but break after that and regular string snap and the bridge easily. I dont know if the strings it comes with are smaller but the bridge doesnt seem big enough for average strings. And its hard to transfer to a new bass with full size or extra jumbo frets. Also the strings are looser since the neck is shorter. So you cant go as fast switching to a full size.Just be safe and dont buy it.

        ok for a combo pack

        By cal1000

        from Chicago-area

The pack comes with a strap, gig bag, amp and other accessories. Everything but the bass and amp seemed to fail after a few months. The bass doesn't play too badly for something this cheap, but the frets wear out pretty fast and leave you with an irritating buzz, but it's not a hard problem to fix. The amp doesn't pack much punch, but it's fine for someone practicing alone. Overall, this is a good bass for someone just starting or in need of a cheap short-scale, but I wouldn't take it on tour.

        This thing sucks

        By Ibaneamanames

        from Colorado

It is tiny and the strings that come with are terrible. I started with this bass and thought that this was just how basses were. I tried a friends and was suddenly aware that my bass was terrible. The combination of the strings and the terrible bridge make for near bleeding hands after just one song. The neck is slow as hell which makes it extremely hard to play anything but the stupid songs in the book included.

        Great Bass for the Buy

        By Rockin50

        from New Jersey

I purchased this Bass for my son who is a typical 13 year old "wanna be" rock musician. I was very happy with the size, style and price of the instrument. The amp is adequate, the DVD and tuner, strap and picks are a plus. For you parents thinking on purchasing a guitar for your kid but not sure if they will stick with it, this is the deal for you. An obvious entry level piece that wont take you you to the bank. Well worth the investment.

        Good for a beginner....

        By Jimmy's Mom

        from Glen Burnie, MD

I bought this last Christmas for my 11 year old son and he LOVES it. He plays in the jazz band and carries it to middle school weekly. It has stayed in tune pretty well and the amp is not too much for our apartment. We haven't had any buzz with the amp and everything is still working fine!

        Pretty Good....

        By Anonymous

        from Undisclosed

Its your basic beginer bass. It does what its meant to do; nothing special. I use it in my school band. I play through a Peavy 500watt amp, and it definetly gets the job done. I like short basses, not long basses, because i can play it like a guitar but get deep bass tones. Not that i dont like it, but if it were lost or stolen Id get a Epiphone EB 3 bass or a Squier P bass. I am not a bass expert but I know that it sounds good enough. I mostly play electric guitar and electric acoustic. If you need a bass that'll last you and are on a tight budget, GET IT!

Really Good and a little bad

        By BassPlayer73

        from Naperville, IL

It's really good for a preteen and early teenager and the price is frankly amazing but the amp and Dvd not so much, if your a beginner get a book the Dvd didn't even touch on frets. And the Amp Buzzes pretty Bad But every thing else is pretty amazing especially the guitar its self.

You have got to be kidding

        By AEsala

        from Ashland

If your looking at this for your 1st bass... dont. Your better off trying to make one yourself... yes... its that bad. This hunk of s*** sucks so much. It tiny... my les paul fits in its case. Thats not right. when i think of a bass i think of a long huge guitar that pumps out so deep notes. This bass dose none of that. It tiny and it dose not give very low tones. It dose not stay in tune and when i was playing it i had a string fall off... what kind of bass is that?DO NOT BUY THIS BASS!!!
