What a nice little EB-0 package they make these days - perfect for someone who wants to start on a short-scale instrument. (Perfect for small hands, short arms, etc.)The EB-0 is a classic set-up. It is designed to sound like a basic bass guitar when you play it. "But it only has one pick-up!" That's right, and for most people, that's really all they need to get a satisfactory sound.Like most packages, the accessories on this aren't the greatest. The amp is good for practicing quietly at home. If you are going to play in public, go out and buy a real amp that will handle the job - something with a minimum set-up like an Ampeg B-15 will do for most people.A gig bag? Great around the house. Otherwise get a hard-shell case. And a quick note on strings: when you get a new bass (or guitar), the strings that come attached are typically cheap and should be removed immediately. Replace them with good quality strings before you begin using the instrument. The good strings will sound better, stay in tune longer, and your fingers will thank you for it.Enjoy!

I bought this bass a few years ago, it was my first one. At the time I thought it was great, but then after about a month of playing it I relized I was wrong. This bass has a scaled down neck so it makes it almost impossible to find nice strings for it. I would not sugest a scaled down bass, even for begeners, just learn on the real thing. This bass also is extreemly heavy. This makes the neck constantly rise, not to mention the strain it puts on your back. The strings have an aweful rattle, I have frequently ajusted mine and I cant get it right. The pickups are also very quiet, not to mention they are in the way of where you are suposed to slap. This bass also falls apart very easily, my volume nob fell off, and one of my tuners also fell off. The tuner and case it comes with are also useless. The case doesnt fit, and the tuner never gets the stings right. Overall I wouldnt recomend this bass to anyone. Put your money toward anything else, and I guarantee that you will be happy. Squire and Ibenez have some nice basses that I would recomend aposed to this.

    First bass

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

I recently bought this bass for a 10 year old looking to start playing bass. The shorter neck is perfect for him. The bass is a bit heavy but what Gibson or Gibson copy isn't. I have been playing bass for years and think this bass is excellent for the money. Good sound, appearance, and quality. After looking at the Fender starter packages I went with the Epi because of better woods and solid construction. I'm glad I did because this is a great starter bass.

    great tone for short scale

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

i recently played this in a gig at a church, i was going to play a rogue, but when i learned that they had this, i wanted to try it, i was suprised at the weight, not bad compared to most, but more than my rogue. however the short scale was great for playing triads, i so want this guitar.

    All around bass

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

This was my first bass, and I still play it 3 years later. It's really good for beginners or intermediate/advanced players who just want a fun bass to mess around with. It's short scale, so you fly up and down the neck with ease. It stays in tune well, and the sound is surprisingly good for a beginner bass.

A Great First Bass For A Great Price

    By EB-0

    from Rochester, MI

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

I got my EB-0 bass for Christmas and it has not had any major problems. It stays in tune relatively well and has great rock tune. It is not to big or small, good for plucking, and a fun bass to play. I have played other basses, but I still like this one best. I reccomend this bass in Cherry Red, and I would reccomend it to any bass player.

    good bass bad amp

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

I got this as my first bass 3 years ago and the bass was perfectly fine but the amp would never let you pass 7 on the volume unless you enjoy a fuzzy noise when you play so i bought a new amp

    Great Starter Bundle!!!!

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

I got this bundle for my first bass, and let me say it is great. I used this for 1 gig, and learning songs, and it works like a charm. It holds tune reasonably well. The oly bad thing is that it came with volume and tone knobs mixed up, and tone is broken. But, it is still a great bundle.

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

I'm surprised with the overall quality of the package. The only problems I have are with the cord and some the amp.The cord just barely works, and you have to bunch it up for it to work.My only problem with the amp is that, if you try to play loud, it sounds extremely distorted. This is my first bass and I'm surprised that everything was what it was.

This bass actually showed my way to many more and more rock bands. It's looks are awesome and it could teach you easily to be a pro. I've had it for about a year now and it's working fine, but the amp broke although, I left it in my garage.

    Still great after four years

    By Bass

    from USA

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

I bought this as my first bass four years ago, and I am pleased with it. It stays in tune for long periods of solid playing.Scale - Short scale bass based on the Gibson SG guitar. My hands are smaller, so the shorter scale was an advantage for me. Strings - I've been using the Dean Markley 2674 strings.Weight - Warning! It's heavier than it looks. Don't let the short scale fool you. If you are not strong, then look at another bass. Amp - it's only 10W, but it's okay for playing around the house. It was good for me as a beginner.Educate yourself on basics. Buy _Bass Guitar for Dummies_. I'm pleased with the value of my EB0. For twice the money, the EB3 pack has a better amp and an extra pickup. For $200 you can buy a better bass amp so I'm not sure if the EB3 is worth it.
