What a nice little EB-0 package they make these days - perfect for someone who wants to start on a short-scale instrument. (Perfect for small hands, short arms, etc.)The EB-0 is a classic set-up. It is designed to sound like a basic bass guitar when you play it. "But it only has one pick-up!" That's right, and for most people, that's really all they need to get a satisfactory sound.Like most packages, the accessories on this aren't the greatest. The amp is good for practicing quietly at home. If you are going to play in public, go out and buy a real amp that will handle the job - something with a minimum set-up like an Ampeg B-15 will do for most people.A gig bag? Great around the house. Otherwise get a hard-shell case. And a quick note on strings: when you get a new bass (or guitar), the strings that come attached are typically cheap and should be removed immediately. Replace them with good quality strings before you begin using the instrument. The good strings will sound better, stay in tune longer, and your fingers will thank you for it.Enjoy!

I bought this bass a few years ago, it was my first one. At the time I thought it was great, but then after about a month of playing it I relized I was wrong. This bass has a scaled down neck so it makes it almost impossible to find nice strings for it. I would not sugest a scaled down bass, even for begeners, just learn on the real thing. This bass also is extreemly heavy. This makes the neck constantly rise, not to mention the strain it puts on your back. The strings have an aweful rattle, I have frequently ajusted mine and I cant get it right. The pickups are also very quiet, not to mention they are in the way of where you are suposed to slap. This bass also falls apart very easily, my volume nob fell off, and one of my tuners also fell off. The tuner and case it comes with are also useless. The case doesnt fit, and the tuner never gets the stings right. Overall I wouldnt recomend this bass to anyone. Put your money toward anything else, and I guarantee that you will be happy. Squire and Ibenez have some nice basses that I would recomend aposed to this.

If you are looking into slap, look somewhere else.

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

This is a decent beginners pack but I have one huge beef with the bass. The pickup is right where you are supposed to slap and pop. I have the same beef with the Gibson Reissue SG because it is virtually impossible to play slap on those things. Otherwise, it is your average bass starter pack.

First bass

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

I recently bought this bass for a 10 year old looking to start playing bass. The shorter neck is perfect for him. The bass is a bit heavy but what Gibson or Gibson copy isn't. I have been playing bass for years and think this bass is excellent for the money. Good sound, appearance, and quality. After looking at the Fender starter packages I went with the Epi because of better woods and solid construction. I'm glad I did because this is a great starter bass.

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

I got this as my first bass 3 years ago and the bass was perfectly fine but the amp would never let you pass 7 on the volume unless you enjoy a fuzzy noise when you play so i bought a new amp

Ok for starters

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

I've had this bass for almost a year now and I'm starting to regret getting it. The strings need replacing, it never stays in tune. The bag that came with it is way too small. The tuner is a piece of junk. I got a guitar lesson cd instead of a bass video. The amp is terrible, although so is about any that come with the instrument. If your just starting out then this would be something you should get but if you have some expierence then you should think about an Ibanez or Fender. Its good for the money and would recomend it to any beginer bass players

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

I bought this bass even though I am a lefty. I find it a little bottom heavy so I have to hold onto it, but I like it. I am used to a long neck so it took a little getting used to and I always lay my thumb on my pick-up so its a little hard to do that when it is up so close to the neck. I like the body style and it sounds really good. Its a little deeper than my Ibanez and I like that real well. I didn't buy the package, just the bass. Its a good bass and a good value.

A Good Starter Bass

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

This package is a great starter bass package. The only problem was if you plugged it in to certain amps it would get feedback. If you are learning to play it's good because its small scale neck makes it easier to play. If you are just learning how to play, get this bass.

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

The Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack is not what I expected. I?ve only been playing for a little over a year and I can tell you that this set is no good. The cable died on me the day I got it, so I had to buy a new one right off. The DVD is pointless because the only things it shows you are the parts, nothing about how to play. The bass hates to keep a tune. At one point the E string was higher pitched than the A was which threw off the entire song. The strings that came on it were no good. Another bad point {for me anyway} is that it is a short scale. Although short scale is good for kids, adults will find it difficult to play. I did however get a complement on it when I took it to a music store. The clerk said it was a beautiful bass, but the EB-3 by Epiphone is just as beautiful but is better quality. If you want to get this because it has a lot of stuff don?t, get the Squier Bass Pak with Rumble 15 Amp. It costs just as much, and is a better bass.

Not that great...

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

I got this for it's looks awhile ago and I thouht it was great. Then it feel apart(after about a week). It chipped and buzzed constantly. The bridge kept falling out and it is also very heavy. The accessories aren't good either. The amp isn't bad but it's not great (but it's fine). The tuner never worked, the strap broke, and the bag's bottom fell out. other than that the rest was fine. I find it to be overpriced, but if you want it, go for it.

Comments about Epiphone EB-0 Gig Rig Bass Player Pack:

This is a great begginer to intermediate bass. the bass itself is amazing, great neck great body. The finish is great too (cherry). The rest of the stuff is ok. The amp is a pile it sounds like garbage and i have to put the cord into the imput only in the exact spot for it to work. (it just came that way) The tuner is good i had no problems. I was smart enough to buy another chord with it because the cord that came with it sucks. The strap is fine a little uncomfortable but fine. Picks i never use. Dvd is fine. Overall great bass ok accesories.
