The Holy Grail of bass tone now in rare Silverburst.

Jack Casady is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for his pioneering work with Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna and was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by Bass Player magazine in 2011. He's one of the rare rock bassists known by fans, players and even non-musicians for his signature tone.

The Ltd. Ed. Jack Casady Signature Bass features a classic semi-hollowbody design with a maple top and maple back and sides that is set off with elegant single ply cream binding on the top and back on a stunning, limited edition Silverburst color finish. The hand-set mahogany neck has a 1960s era rounded profile and features a 34" scale with a rosewood fingerboard, a 12" radius and a 1.6535" nut. Casady's trademark signature in gold typeface can be seen clearly on the classic Epiphone clipped dovewing headstock. The 2-ply truss rod cover features the iconic Epiphone "E" silkscreened in white and the black pickguard features the iconic foil Epiphone "E".

The Jack Casady Bass features a black covered JCB-1™ low impedance, low output pickup and employs a three-position VariGain™ switch to shape the sound and output levels. Try the "50" position for a direct studio recording or for a pure acoustic tone. The "500" level will give you a seriously fat tone that's perfect for blues, jazz or rock. And the "250" level will put you in-between. Take your pick! Controls feature black SpeedKnobs for master volume and tone.

It also features nickel hardware, die-cast "Clover" bass tuners and a 3-point adjustable bridge exactly like what the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer uses on-stage. Casady insisted that his own personal bass should be no different than any other Jack Casady Signature Bass.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Jack Casady Electric Bass Guitar:

I ordered the Jack Casady Limited Silverburst Bass and I love it. It was a 'used' model but it was in absolutely perfect condition, unblemished. This bass has a beautiful, warm tone and can growl like a beast when you want it to. The frets are a bit buzzy but that's more likely due to my novice hands. The workmanship is quite remarkable. I am extremely happy with this bass and with Musician's Friend. Thanks!

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Jack Casady Electric Bass Guitar:

I have played bass professionally for years, now I play for the love of music. I have owned Fenders (USA), Ibanez, Music Man (USA), Yamaha, G&L (USA), Dean (USA), Waterstone, Gibson (USA) and Ken Smith among others and I feel this bass sounds as good as many of the much more expensive models I have owned. The distinct sound and rich tones produced by this bass are unique and stand out. I have seen some other reviews that complained about head dive problems, this is no worse than many quality basses. I'll keep this short, go try one and judge for yourself. I think you will be sold on them as soon as you plug it in.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Jack Casady Electric Bass Guitar:

I recently purchased this bass. I have used an American Fender P bass for years, I wanted a hollow body 335 type of bass, and one lighter than my P bass. It looks beautiful, sounds nice, feels lighter. I think Jack Casady & Epiphone created an excellent bass. I really like the silver burst color. I am very pleased with my new bass! (as in other reviews, there is an adjustment curve with the possible neck dive). I am considering Dunlop strap locks, I used them on my P bass.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Jack Casady Electric Bass Guitar:

I've been a Fender man all my life. I've also been wanting a hollow body bass forever so I jumped at a chance to own a limited edition model. I've always had my doubts about Epiphone but I have to say the build quality is really good for the price.

The pick up sounds great with three different settings so you can scoop out your sound. You can go from plucky to full on rock easily through this bass. The guitar gets a little noisy with distortion pedals but over all it's tonally sound at loud volumes.

The only downside is neck dive, It's just been an adjustment for me personally because I'm so used to Fenders.

This is a fun guitar to play and I find myself applying it to new material more and more. Go buy one!
