Epiphone Korina V is saying something

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Korina Flying V Bass Guitar:

What an absolute joy to play. I have not even took it in for a setup yet. My guy usually gets my guitars back to me in a few days and I am not willing to part with it for the long yet.As soon as I pulled it out of the box at practice, the guys were like "man, that thing is saying something". I have the natural korina finish, which is beautiful. This thing feels good and sounds good. I am a short scale player and seem to have no problem with the neck dive issue that others talk about. I know what they are refering to because I am a former Epi. T Bird player in which I sold to get this. The pups seem to be a little hotter than my old T Bird, but that could just be my imagination. It sounds great and am able to control the sound for a variety of tones.I have know problem playing this sitting down to practice and what not. Its just a V thing, you either like them or you dont. The only downfall is, they placed a rubber pad along the bottom of the body, which is completely useless to me and takes away from the beautiful finish. I believe this was put on here to help with playing while sitting down. Myself, I let the inner V part cradle my leg, which makes it very east to play sitting down. Also, good luck finding a hardshell case. The only thing that I could come up with is a Dean Deluxe Bass V Series, which is very big. Also, wanted to add. Although I am not much of a slap and pop player, I find it easy enough to achieve on this bass. Just a great bass, for any short scale player out there.

Great Bass

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Korina Flying V Bass Guitar:

This bass is simply amazing. I got the black and I am absolutely amazed. I've read reviews that say you can't play this bass sitting down and I beg to differ, its quite easy actually. Also this is a great bass for slap. It is a little neck heavy so buy a leather strap and you'll be fine. The finish was flawless and the tone is excellent. I would compare the tone to an 82 Fender Bullet Bass that I have but with more options. I can get this all the way from Geddy Lee/Chris Squire sound to a Jazz swing bass sound. Simply put this bass is a great bass, it looks amazing, buy it before they're gone!!

BEAUTIFUL but Useless

By Jack AKA Bassmusician

from St Louis, MO

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Korina Flying V Bass Guitar:

I seen the Korinea Flying V Bass re-issue in the late 90's and just had to have one. My wife bought me one as a suprise. It was and remains, the most beautiful instrument I have ever owned, and Ive probally owned over 100 guitars and Basses in my life. With that said, it was also the most useless Bass I've ever owned. I couldn't get it to hold tune for one song on stage. I took it repeatedly to a renowned St Louis Luither to try and get it fixed, no dice. Also, even if it would have hold tune, it was neck heavy, and personally, I just dont like the short scale. I just wish Epiphone would make a long scale model, and do away with the 3 pt bridge. I believe it to be the culprit that was causing it to lose tune. I loved and Hated that Bass. It would make an awesome wall hanging thoug!! It is very beautiful.

Epiphone Limited Edition Korina Flying V Bass Guit

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Korina Flying V Bass Guitar:

It's actually quite a lovely little short scale bass. Output is not overwhelming, but tone is perfectly adequate (given that these OEM strings may not be the best). I think there's a great potential here, and the V body is certainly one of the greatest Gibson shapes ever. They're cheap and they play well, by all means go and pick one of these up while Epiphone offers them.

Killer bass tone in a small package!!

By CowboyRocker1991

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Korina Flying V Bass Guitar:

Leave it to Gibson to include some good electronics in their Epiphone basses; especially the Flying V bass. I've had mine for about 7 years and totally dig it! I'm lucky that it still has the matching case with the "big E" on the outside. They're pretty rare and DEFINITLEY sound better than any Dean that I've played. I've always enjoyed the Gibson and Epiphone tones in their guitars ans basses. Plus, anyone playing one looks totally awesome rocking up on stage!! Not a bad investment for $500. used . . . . ..

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Korina Flying V Bass Guitar:

This bass looks great, sounds good and feels good and is a great value for the price. It probably won't be a primary instrument for most people, but it is cool to have. If you are looking for a fun second (or third) instrument - consider this Flying V.
